Poverty is the state for the majority of people in this world. In Canada there are over 4.5 million people living in poverty. Poverty is not only an issue in canada but an issue that needs to be focused on all over the world. About 14% of canada is living under the yearly income threshold which means they are living in poverty.
Poverty is to be extraordinarily poor or in the state to not afford basic necessities such as food water shelter or clothes. A change in a city’s economy can affect people in poverty. Also lack of education is a be a major factor on poverty. Poverty started at 15% in the 60s and gradually increased through the years. In the early 70s it went up to around 20% of canadians.in 1969 a census stated that 1 in 4 canadians were suffering from poverty. …show more content…

Poverty is a very big issue that everyone knows about but nobody strives for a solution. Education is a big factor that has to do with poverty.if people dropout of high school they cannot get their high school diploma so how are they going to get a full time job? Education should be a big focus on finding the solution for poverty. Canada does not have a basic income plan so they cannot guarantee that all canadians have all basic necessities such as food water shelter clothes
