In today 's society, there is 1 in 7 people living in poverty which is costing Canadian citizens’ money as they are paying for taxes. There are many standpoints in which people examine the ways poverty affect society such as Marx’s conflict theory. Marx’s conflict theory goes over how social stratification being inevitable and how there is a class consciousness within people in the working class. Another way that poverty is scrutinized is by feminization. Feminization is the theory that will be explored throughout this essay. Poverty will be analyzed in this essay to determine the significance of poverty on the society and the implications that are produced. Looking at what each of these explanations mean people can get a better definition of poverty. Individual-level explanation focuses on the inherited attributes such as IQ and motivation level and are compared with acquired attributes such as investing in an education. Structural explanation is focused on the social organization of society, the organizations could look at the ability to get a good job and the tax allocations. Ideological explanation looks at the negative images that are viewed throughout various groups such as discrimination, this discrimination leads to less good jobs being given to someone of that race or gender. In Canada, they plan on stopping poverty by following multiple steps that they have researched to find what the best ways would be. These steps include; quality education, access to health care, water and sanitation, economic security, and child participation. Many of the other countries are trying to follow these few steps as well but not being as successful. Countries that were in poverty such as China, has been slowly getting out of poverty as well by increasing their job opportunities which most countries are also doing. Canada and other countries goals are to get out of poverty the most people as possible. Summary Poverty has affected the lives of many people around the world and with the definition being covered it proves that the government has to change for the different situations that people can get themselves plus the different inequality that is displayed throughout the social classes and social norms. Also the myths that were covered proves how the world views people that are in poverty which is not true and lastly what was covered was the significance of how poverty is affecting society and what implications are taking place.
