The History of Paintball
Paintball has had big impact in the history of the U.S in the last few years. Paintball is used all over the U.S to train soldiers and police in order for them to protect our country (Military Combat Training with Spyder Paintball Markers). In 1981 paintball was created and the first paintball guns were not even made for paintball, they were made for marking trees for sale or stray cattle that were to be sold (Woodward). Now, paintball is a world wide extreme sport played by professionals in tournaments all over the globe (Latest). Paintball has significantly changed since the first time it was played in 1981 and now.
Paintball started in 1981 and has grown a lot since then. Paintball was created by Charles Gaine, Hayes Noel, and Robert Gurnsey in 1981. Paintball guns were not originally used or made for paintball they were originally created for, they were made and used to mark stray cattle and to mark trees to be cut down. The group of friends played privately and slowly made a corporation called the National Survival Games Inc. This was the first paintball company to exist that was actually meant for paintball. Paintball became very popular fast in the time it came out. In 1989 there was about 75,000 players playing in fields across america. In the early 1990’s paintball executives tried and succeeded to add paintball guns to stores like sears saying that the game was for fun not for military training. This meant that stores across the country would start selling paintball equipment which grew the sport even more (Woodward). Paintball has grown a lot since it’s start, the equipment has gotten more safe and more efficient.

The squad has used a laser system like laser tag but because the lazer’s do not cause an impact there's not any adrenaline but with the paintball guns the impact causes adrenaline and is more relative with the adrenaline to the battlefield (Military Combat Training with Spyder Paintball Markers).
In conclusion, Paintball has gone through enormous changes throughout the time that it has been played. Paintball has grown a lot since when it was created and has turned into a professional sport. Paintball is also used to train our U.S troops and police officers! Paintball is now a much more safe sports and is changing the way people spend their spare time every weekend. Paintballs short history and ability to be used for military purposes could be keeping us safe today.
The curveball was invented over 100 years ago by William Arthur Cummings (Fleitz, D). His older brother and teammates called him Candy Cummings (Fleitz, D). Cummings started to develop the curveball in 1861 and 1862 without much progress. After many years Cummings finally invented the curveball in 1867 (Fleitz, D). This invention made him one of the most dominant pitchers of the time. Cummings quit baseball at the age of twenty-eight (Fleitz, D). Other players started to develope their own curveball by the 1874 season (Fleitz, D). Batters started to learn to hit the curveball by the 1877 season (Fleitz, D).
It should be noted that there are many different ways that are employed to get a marker to shoot a paintball out of the marker. Nearly every brand of marker has a different firing system. All have several things in common. They all have some sort of tank with compressed air or C02 or Nitrogen. Then they usually have sort of bolt and hammer system which is cocked back and held in place by a sear which compresses a spring. When the trigger is pulled it releases the sear. The restoring force of the spring pushes the bolt and the hammer forward starting the paintball moving then the C02 is released propelling the ball outward.
Dodgeball was born over 200 years ago in Africa, where they used rocks to throw at each other and worked together as a team. The game is still played today and uses the same aspect of teamwork, but foam balls are used instead of rocks. Many people think that dodgeball is still too violent and shouldn’t exist. Dodgeball should not be banned in schools because it has health benefits, offers a challenge, and lets students look forward to going to school.

Paintball is an active sport. While there are periods of sitting, hiding and waiting, there are lots of times to run, sprint, jump and move. Paintball requires a mask to be worn on all public fields. Neck protectors and vests are also optional if you feel like it. Most people would probably be surprised to learn that players and referees take extra care to make sure that all the players are safe in a game. National averages even show that paintball has a lower injury rate than bowling and golf!

This lead to his most famed innovation the Maxim Machine Gun he revealed in 1884. His machine gun design consisted of a plain, smart model, gas made by powder explosion in the holder of the gun which created a shrinking to control the gun machinery and no outer power needed. The original creation was for water to cool off and fed through a belt which permitted for no certain amount of fire for at least 600 rounds per minute; in 1891 he developed a smokeless holder and powder that upgraded the usefulness of the machine gun. Maxim also sold his new gun to the British and their army but there were a lot in the military’s high command that could not see the use of an everyday weapon in the war, but other armies voiced fascination in purchasing his gun like Germany. He accepted a knighthood or a rank from Queen Victoria in 1901. Due to his knighthood, his company (the Maxim Gun Company) later engaged into Vickers Ltd (British engineering) and became a director and also invented the Vickers machine gun.
