Introduction Operations management is the central core function of every company this is true with small and large or for profit or not for profit. Every company has an operations management functions. Actually all the other organizational functions are there primarily to support the operations functions without operations there would be no goods or services to sell. Operations management is a management function. It involves managing people, equipment, technology, information and many other resources. The role of operations management is to transform a company’s inputs into finished products it include human resources, such as workers and managers facilities and processes materials technology and information, Sim S, M Barry, R Clift, SJ Cowell (2007). For operations management to be successful it must add value during transformation process. Efficiency means being able to perform activities well and at the lowest possible cost. An important role of operations is to analyze all activities, eliminate those that do not add value and restructure processes and jobs to achieve greater efficiency. Because today’s business environment is more competitive than ever, the role of operations management has become the focal point of efforts to increase competitiveness by improving value added and efficiency. Applying best practices to operations management is not enough to give a company a competitive advantage, Glaser B (2002). This requires to have a deep knowledge of their customers and to be able to anticipate their demands. The development of customer relationship management has made it possible for companies to have this detailed knowledge.
