One of the most vital personal aspects anybody in the operations docket should have is humility. Most people are afraid to admit their mistakes and learn from other people by fearing that they may face mockery and prejudice from their peers. This is however not the case given the old adage that goes ignorance is acceptable, stupidity is not. One should have the ability o accept mistakes and move on. Learning from others is a core part in the running of any operations docket. I have been equipped with knowledge that will enable me to seek help instead of using the trial and error method to approach problems that may be encountered in my career path. Personal limitations are not personal failures and with acceptance and embracing of the issues at hand the limitations may be minimized or even eradicated. Working together as a team is vital for any organization. Working in a team will give a sense of belonging and identification which motivates individuals to become better in their trade. Teamwork ensures that the employees in the operations docket work together and learn from each other. Some decisions prove to be vital and any miscalculation that may be involved may prove dire for the individual or the organization. In identifying the criterion to use while evaluating different decisions, many factors pertaining the structure should be considered. The pros and cons of every decision made should be evaluated to ensure that the option chosen has the most positive effect on the individual and the organization. Some of the activities that may require keen decision making include project development, finance and operations. With the knowledge attained it will be easier to cope with tough decisions that may come up in my career. Decision making models may be generated to give an in depth view to the problem and also provide critical analysis ability. It is also vital noting that for those in managerial positions, they face a bigger task in decision making. Operations refers to the transformation of raw materials(inputs) into finished products(outputs). The operations process is one of the key business functions and is a crucial component to business success. Like every business, Qantas is affected by many internal and external influences requiring it to have effective strategies to respond to these influences. Businesses that are able to adopt and utilise effective operational strategies are able to quickly adapt and either reduce or take advantage of these influences that impact the business. The effectiveness of these strategies can measured by Qantas’ performance and whether or not it is able to hold it’s competitive advantage. How well these strategies respond to the influences on operations will determine the level of success that Qantas achieves.

According to Heizer & Render (2011), operations management (OM) is the set of activities that creates value in the form of goods and services by transforming inputs into outputs. Operations managers today contend with competition, globalization, inflation, consumer demand, and consistent change in technology. Managers must focus on the efficiency and effectiveness of processes such as cost, dependability, distribution, flexibility, and speed. Secondly, a leader should learn how to make a good decision. It is better to make good decision rattan than a fast decision. First of all, managers can build a better workplace by recognizing the challenges that face any organizations because of some strategies that used in business environment. For example, one of the challenges are that having a cultural diversity in organization, so managers can build the organization with different cultures which help to encourage employee to do their job well and communicate with others in appropriate way. Secondly, managers can measure the effectiveness and efficiency; also, they can identify the strength and weakness of the organization.
