Islamic work ethics highlight the behavior which is either prohibited or promoted for individuals in an organization. Islamic work ethics reduces disputes and helps in overcoming hurdles obstructing success of any organization by promoting cooperation, consultation in all affairs (Yousef, 2000; Abbasi and Rana, 2012). Islamic work ethics prohibit wasting time in unproductive activities, laziness and sitting idle at workplace. It is assumed that employees are usually unproductive and fail in their life because of their attitudes which involving them in such prohibited activities as mentioned above. According to Abbasi and Rana (2012), Islamic work ethics is such a new dimension of business ethics that helps organization in enhancing workplace environment.

Ethics in business is a highly important concept, as it can affect a company’s profits, salaries paid to employees and CEOs, and public opinion, among many other aspects of a business. Ethics can be enforced by company policies and guidelines, set a precedent when a company is faced with an important decision, and are also evolving thanks to new technology and situations that arise due to technology usage. Businesses have a duty to maintain their ethical responsibilities and also to help their employees enforce these responsibilities in and out of the workplace. However, ethics and the foundation for them are not always black and white. There are many different ethical theories, however Utilitarianism, Kant’s Deontological ethics, and Virtue ethics are three of the most well known theories in existence. Each theory is distinct in that it has a different quality used to determine ethicality and allows for a person to choose which system of ethics works best with both the situation and his or her personal ethical preferences.

With almost every culture worldwide having some form of religion, there are many different types of religion all around the world, some similar streams and others vastly different. Every religion has four main aspects: Belief and believers, sacred texts and writings, ethics and rituals, and ceremonies. These form the basis of each religion and set them apart from the rest: each branch of religion vastly different.
According to the American College Dictionary, religion is a noun defined as the quest for the values of the ideal life. This definition is vast and general, allowing for a variety of interpretations by people from all cultures. There is no single path to follow in order to lead an ideal life, only personal beliefs and experiences. Religion is non-finite so there is no way of determining a boundary (Smart, 5). In my quest for a true understanding of what religion is I explored my own traditions and religious beliefs as well as life experiences. Slowly, with the added insight from the text and videos, my own definition of religion has begun to take shape.

Religion is big part of human life. Every area of the world has some kind of religion or belief system. Religion is defined as “a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices” (“Religion” Def.2). With such a large amount of religions today, religion is widely variegated, usually with divisions in each one. Despite the large amount of religions, I will only be covering only three religions: Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism.

With that said, there is no commonly accepted definition of religion. Different people and different experts have different views of religion. Many people associate the religion with belief in some entity generally described as God. But then different religions and even people within a formally defined religion may hold different views about the nature of God. The only commonality between all religions is that they are all directed at guiding the individual behavior in directions that are expected to lead to their personal good as well as that of the society in general. Unlike other social institutions though, history has proven religion can rally people on a global level (Powell, 2009). Whether your experience is limited to the diversity within the United States of America or firsthand observations abroad, religion, or opinion of some form, religion is instilled and deeply rooted into all people.

Questions about the meaning of life, how to live it in the best way, what happens after death, and whether there is anyone or anything watching there have wondered people in all parts of the world throughout the history. Even if the origin of religion is uncertain, it is considered by some anthropologists that religion began as a renewal movement. In the past, when the people's imaginations were trying to find more comprehensive answers to their problems, they were affected by the ideas of prophets, which provided them with answers rather than their everyday beliefs. Most of the religions have the religious people who practice them, holy or sacred places where people worship, and rules with some similarities, as well as many differences. According to global 2012 reports, 59% of the people are religious, some of whom practice several religions at the same time, no matter the religious principals they follow allow for syncretism or not. Religion is a system of belief which formulates people's point of view, limits their actions, and to which people stay devoted all their lives.
