Diet is crucial for people’s lives because it gives people an energy and help body functionally work. Each person has different eating styles which are also different in purpose. For example, people who become vegetarians may would like to avoid animal protein or have healthier lives. Fruitarians has their own causes as well. Looking to lose weight is one of the causes that makes people turn to be fruitarians. However, it may be dangerous since people who live on only fruit diet would lack of some nutrients and receive too much sugar.

Even though fruits are rich in nutrients like vitamin, mineral and fiber, people cannot possibly get all nutrients which bodies need from only fruits. Saner (2013) has stated that having fruit diet for a long period can cause deficiency in calcium, protein, essential fatty acid and iron which lead to headache, tiredness and lethargy. For example, Hosie (2017) has given personal experience of being a fruitarians. In one day, she has eaten fruit salad and a glass of orange juice for breakfast, then an avocado and a smoothie for lunch and finally an apple and a banana for dinner. She managed to live on fruit diet for three days and had to stop because she felt so ill; on the third day, Hosie woke up with headache which did not go away all morning. In addition, fruit consumers would lack of vitamin B12 and vitamin D which is mostly found in animal food like beef, egg and fish and dairy product respectively.
