Side by side we stand on the blue Caribbean Sea gives us a clear vision of the close proximity to our neighboring Caribbean countries. Many of the Caribbean countries such as Antigua, Bahamas, Belize , Dominica , Grenada, Jamaica, Haiti and Trinidad and Tobago just to name a few are all part of the Caribbean Community known as Caricom. The birth of the Caribbean Community and Common Market was signed on July 4, 1973 at the Chaguaramas in Trinidad and Tobago. And the operations of Caricom began on August 1 of that year.
It was the failure of two regional integration attempts, the West Indies Federation and the Caribbean Free Trade Association that led to the birth of the Caricom community. Its major goal was to improve the standard of living of people that reside in member countries and to have common policies that would create a united movement of the Caribbean Community. According to Ramsawak, Caricom main objectives include the improvement of economic cooperation, removal of barriers of trade such as customs duties, quotas and licensing impositions, formulate a common policy when dealing with non-member states and trans-national cooperation. As a result the improvement on countries education, labor rights, and health was invested in and promoted by Caricom. Even though some of the objectives such as economic development was one of the crucial goal of the common market, the inception which founded in 1973 did have pressing issues which have remained unresolved.
For example the July 1996 dispute between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, where Trinidad accused Jamaica of putting barriers to its exports of food and drink and also the tension with Barbados over the accusation that Barbados was imposing trade restrictions on pasta ...

...here to. As it relates to the Shanique Myrie case with the Barbadian government the treaty is clearly not being rationalized. It was in 2007, the Barbadian government argued against the treaty’s initial decision about free movement. There was no intervention by members of state hence an assent to the decision still stands until re-argued. Based on the treaty, unless an individual displays a serious threat against the society’s interest then the freedom of entry should be granted. Meaning if there is evident proof that there is demoralization of public morals, national security, health and safety then with all means should the refusal present. However it was not the case of the Shanique Myrie story and now with the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) handling of nationals by Caricom Community needs to be revised. It all started when the King Louis the 16th was in a huge amount of debt for being involved in three different wars. One of the wars was over the the Caribbean islands, these islands
The Caribbean is comprised of a group of island. Jamaica is one of the greatest Antilles. It has a tropical climate. Each country has its own culture, Jamaicans is not an exemption, and they have an assorted and distinctive one. “Their culture is a complex mixture of African, Arabic, European, East Indian, and Chinese roots combining together to create a rich, dynamic heritage” (Gall, 2009).
The Dominican Republic is a nation located in the Caribbean Sea and shares the land with Haiti, and the whole island is called Hispaniola as it was named when Christopher Columbus discovered it during his first voyage in the year 1492. The country has proved to be one of the leading Caribbean countries with accessible healthcare to its citizens and even expats. However, the country has a multinational population with low-to-medium incomes and multi-level access to healthcare based on income. Despite this, improvements to healthcare system can lead to better medical outcomes to all the citizens and even to the suffering citizens of the Haiti. Because the Dominican Republic is an immediate neighbor to struggling Haiti, it is the moral obligation of the Dominican to provide Haitians with access to healthcare.
Colombia lies in the northern most part of South America, bordering the Caribbean Sea the Bogota is the capital of Colombia. Bordering between Panama and Venezuela and bordering the North Pacific Ocean, between Ecuador and Panama. The size of Colombia is 1,138,910 square kilometers less than three times the size of the state of Montana. Mainland territory divided into four major geographic regions. Andean highlands are composed of three mountain ranges and overriding valleys and Caribbean lowlands; Pacific lowlands; and llanos and tropical rainforest of Eastern Colombia. Colombia also has small islands in both the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. The rocky terrain cut by large rivers that flow into the Caribbean the Pacific. The Amazon and the Orinoco facilitates the construction of enormous reservoirs, which have steadily increased the country’s generation of energy and supply of drinking water.
Opposing ethical principles would program the vehicle in different ways. Immanuel Kant piloted the nonconsequentialist ethical view of morals. If Kant programmed the car, he would not change the car’s intended path to save multiple people because doing so would use other humans as means to an end. Kantian Ethics are based off of categorical imperatives. Put simply, “an action is right only if the agent would be willing to be so treated if the position of the parties were reversed” (Eby 1). Swerving to hit another person would be deciding that person’s fate, without consent, in order to save the larger group. This is not ethically justified by Kantian standards. Therefore, if the car was intended to veer towards the large group, it should continue on that trajectory. Additionally, there is still the possibility of the ten people moving out of the way in time or the breaks of the car could react fast enough to prevent an accident. Why should the car take the life of a bystander given those possibilities? A proponent of Kantian Ethics would advise the car to continue on its path but would enable the breaks.
When the country of Colombia is mentioned, chances are individuals automatically start composing images of famous actors and musicians that have rooted from Colombia such as Shakira and Sofia Vergara, the excellent reputation Colombian coffee has made across the globe, or even the beautiful Emeralds that surround the astonishing land. Of course all of those things matter, but Colombia is a country that is definitely swept under the rug and under appreciated. Colombia’s history, independence movements, governmental structure, and culture are just a few of the topics that make Colombia so unique.

The United States of America, much to people’s surprise, is still an active imperial power to this day. Aside from the more recent excursions to the Middle East, the U.S. has been actively generating income from the various resources found in the Caribbean Island regions since the late Nineteenth Century. Whether its through the growing of cash crops, the target of illegal arms trafficking, or used as a tropical playground for the wealthy, The Caribbean Islands will continue to be subjected to the powerful influence of the United States economy.

Europeans came into contact with the Caribbean after Columbus's momentous journeys in 1492, 1496 and 1498. The desire for expansion and trade led to the settlement of the colonies. The indigenous peoples, according to our sources mostly peaceful Tainos and warlike Caribs, proved to be unsuitable for slave labour in the newly formed plantations, and they were quickly and brutally decimated. The descendants of this once thriving community can now only be found in Guiana and Trinidad.
As the Hispanic Caribbean has evolved it has managed to grow and thrive beyond belief, whether one is discussing art, music or just the culture alone the Hispanic Caribbean is truly reaping the benefits of allowing themselves to be influenced by many other cultures. While the Hispanic Caribbean is thriving they are still facing the many new found struggles that come along with the territory of becoming more affluent as well as more accepting to other cultures and their beliefs. Often with the growth of large proportions comes many problems, problems also can come about when incorporating of different cultures as a whole as well as just bringing in their beliefs and mannerisms. None the less it can be argued that the struggles being faced in
This entry, penetrating boundary regulators of the Bahamas, is an offense that persons should be penalized for due to the fact that it can lead to social issues. One of these shared problems is the isolated communities can pose a threat to both it and the larger community. Once the immigrants reach the island they then take up residency in existing communities or create a new one with the assistance of locals whose interest is to make money of inadequate housing conditions. These communities or shanty towns as they are frequently called are areas where, in most cas...

Modernization theory is an unworkable guide for facilitating Caribbean growth because of the many weaknesses, which have been highlighted. The modernization theory although is without a doubt one of he most influential theory, is in fact an unworkable guide to Caribbean development as it simply describes the development process without showing how it might be achieved. The theory is in fact a unilinear, ethnocentric theory and it is with all it's shortcomings which one can conclude that it provides an unworkable guide to Caribbean development.
