i. Car Body
Car bodies are usually made of steel or aluminium. They both have different properties and prices ranges that make it ideal. Aluminium has a lower density meaning the car will be lighter than if it was made from steel. It also doesn’t corrode easily so a car made of aluminium will last longer than that made from steel as the steel contains iron which will corrode. In saying this aluminium is much more expensive, and although it has better properties is may take the price of the car up and over the limit that is wanted for it. Steel has many great functions for a car body. It is hard and strong because of the small amount of carbon content that it has which strengthens it. It is also added with small amounts of other metals to strengthen it even more.
Steel is easily shaped because of its malleable properties and can be poured into moulds, cooled and then new products formed making it ideal for body panels and chassis. This means that old steel parts can be melted into new pieces for new cars making it reusable. Steel is also plentiful making it an ideal source for car manufacturers. Overall I would recommend steel for car body manufacturing as it has all the ideal properties for a car and is cheaper than other metals.
ii. 4 Cylinder Engine Block
I would recommend using an aluminium alloy to cast a cylinder block. It is ideal for the properties needed including having to withstand the heat and pressure that exists inside the engine block. The only difference that it has between the traditional engine block made of cast iron is that it has a low density which is ideal as it means it is lighter and therefore the car can travel faster. The blocks can be recycled back into aluminium parts again once finished with or can b...

... between it and makes a full structure very well bonded. It can also crumble easily so that it can absorb the pressure of any forces that may act on it. Overall I think Carbon Fibre is the best option for the car because it has all the desired properties that are needed for the car.

The muscle car era has probably given us some of the most desirable and collectable cars in history. Even today, muscle cars can be seen and are still in high demand. They have a distinctive look with their wide profiles, sharp lines and plenty of chrome. Their looks are muscular and the V8 engines fast.
The chassis is often regarded as the skeleton of the car. This skeleton is just not any skeleton. It should be able to handle a lotta stress when the car is experiencing enormous cornering G forces. These forces are brutal and the car would just fall apart if its not properly engineered. And moreover, just giving a heavy metal chassis is not going to suffice. The car should also be light. Heavy metals would by no doubt, make the car rigid as a bus. But a bus isnt something that we would call, sporty in any way. The cars which are taking part in serious competitions would have the weight criteria to be hardwired as much as possible.
Imagine you’re driving down the road in your brand new car. Another driver pulls out from a side road and suddenly the whole side of your brand new car is twisted and dented from fender to fender. Most people will be in an automobile accident at some point in their lives and they will require the services of an auto-body repairman. Auto body repair is not only the art of taking damaged vehicles and making them drivable and safe, it is also taking old vehicles or worn out looking vehicles and painting and freshening up their overall appearance.
The world of technology is ever changing and advancing. With the automotive industry in play technology is constantly surpassing what is available today with what can be done for tomorrow. Technology and the automotive industry go hand in hand with constant improvement to components of cars. Due to technology advancement there is competition within the car industry, especially between American car companies and European car companies. European car companies provide their buyers with innovative variety and revolutionary luxuries. European car technology is superior to American car technology due to their safety, entertainment, and luxury features.
it is lighter than aluminium, and is used in alloys used for aircraft, car engine casings, and missile construction
Anybody and everybody can become an industrial machinery mechanic; especially, those who are passionate about getting their hands plastered in motor oil, grease, and other mechanical lubricants. These people will more than likely be ecstatic about getting into industrial machinery mechanics. They need to be able to put in one hundred ten percent of their effort into becoming an industrial machinery mechanic. An industrial machinery mechanic’s overall objective on the job is to stop a mechanical error before it happens. An industrial machinery mechanics are often caught repairing, maintaining, and fabricating machinery. They will be required to have certain education and training as well as some on the job training or complete an apprenticeship program. They will receive many benefits for working in this particular field.
A wide variety of coating alloys and wrought alloys can be prepared that give the metal greater strength, castability, or resistance to corrosion or high temperatures. Some new alloys can be used as armor plate for tanks, personnel carriers, and other military vehicles.
Stainless steel is a type of alloy that has a very strong lattice structure (an arrangement/ shape of the crystals or other objects) which in some case can be more beneficial than others depending on the type of application it may be used for. In many cases this structure will make the material more suited to being used in engineering applications such as tools for instance a hammer (stainless steel alloys) , also they can be used for gears, engines, electrical motors and hydraulic systems because the structure makes the material so strong. So when the arrangement of the structure is as above it makes the overall material even stronger which makes it a good for all the applications stated above. I believe its strength and durability are its main properties as these are commonly needed in the engineering industry, although it is also very well known to be used for its corrosion resistance as it is resistant to many types of corrosion. It is used for these properties because the components such as gears need to be strong in order to keep transferring and altering the rotary motion and torque exhibited in the machine that it may be used in, durable to withstand any loads or pressure put onto it and also corrosion resistance to give the components a bigger life span and increase its rate of work throughout its required use.
Cars, trucks, any vehicles are a giant jigsaw puzzle. You or your friends or anybody building a car is looking at a large amount of technology. Sometimes
A steel is usually defined as an alloy of iron and carbon with the content between a few hundreds of a percent up to about 2 wt%. Other alloying elements can amount in total to about 5 wt% in low-alloy steels and higher in more highly alloyed steels such as tool steels and stainless steels. Steels can exhibit a wide variety of properties depending on composition as well as the phases and microconstituents present, which in turn depend on the heat treatment.
Physically and chemically Aluminium is a metal much like others such as; steel, copper and titanium. I can occur as a solid, a liquid or a gas and the state at which aluminium occurs depends on its condition, temperature and pressure. Aluminium is a very light weight metal at 2.7 grams per 〖cm〗^3, which is approximately one third the weight of steel. (HIGGINS, 1972) It naturally forms a protective oxide coating which protects it from corrosion; this oxide coating is thin but very dense and can be made harder through a natural or imitated treatment called Anodising. Aluminium can be further protected with treatments such as coating through lacquering and painting. It is an excellent heat and electricity conductor. It has a low melting point and is very ductile. And finally aluminium is completely recyclable without a reduction in quality.
However, most metals in their natural states are less than the desired choice for the jobs they are required to do. For example, iron, although it is an incredibly strong metal in its natural form, it is delicate and rusts quite quickly in damp air. So to enhance the properties of the metal they are combined with other substances to create an alloy, which are often used instead of pure metals to generate a more durable product.
My career is mechanics, I always helped my grandpa fix cars during the summer ever since I was 7 years old. I always loved cars, especially muscle cars, to me the Ford Mustang is my favorite car of all time. My family has always been fixing cars for a long time, from all the summers I have learned how to fix carburetors, crankshaft, camshafts and a lot more. My grandpa doesn’t know how the new cars work with the GPS systems and other new technological stuff in the new cars. I’ve learned from my grandpa, but I would like to know how the new cars could be fixed and repaired so it can bring more business to him. So I decided that if I do this career I would like to go to school to learn how to install superchargers and twin turbo which is the new stuff in the automotive world. I would also love to learn how to build and craft cars that people have never seen before. All my uncles know how to do everything paint, engineer, body work and all this I learned all my life except painting I’ve tried learning but it’s hard because you have to wear those mask and it’s hard to breath and covers your eyes sometimes. Body work is pretty hard too, its takes strength to carry everything on the cars like windows, fenders, skirts, engine, tires (trucks), seats and a lot of more body parts.
The complete process of continues casting leads to this result because the high efficiency of the whole process and reduced exposure of hot steel to air also reason to reduce scrap production
My career goal is to become an Auto Mechanic and Shop Owner. Being an Auto Mechanic intends to have a variety of skills such as: having knowledge on a variety of knowledge with different car companies, the ability to diagnose the problem quickly and repair it fast and to perfection. They also have to have knowledge on every car part and currently be great with electronics. A shop owner has to be good with business, numbers, customer relationships, have the knowledge of an Auto Mechanic. The talents that I have to become an Auto Mechanic and a shop owner are that I have basic knowledge on cars, their parts, where to get cheap parts, good speaking skills. I’m beginning to be able to do a diagnosis on a car, I’m also good at electronics. I also have a few mentors helping me out.
