Dear Provost Committee on Scholarship Review,
I am writing this letter of appeal in hopes that you will consider providing me with additional funds needed to cover the expense of a course that will be taken during my co-op. I fully acknowledge that this is unconventional, and regardless of your response to this letter, I thank the committee for granting me the scholarship in the first place, as well as taking the time to read this letter.I hope that the following information will help you to understand my situation. First, I like to detail what the foundation year scholarship aid means to me. The scholarship has provided me with the opportunity to pursue higher education and my future goals as a global businessman as well as broadening my

As a part of my degree requirements I am required to partake in a expatriate year and there are requirements pertaining to the classes that have to be taken before my application can be accepted. Unfortunately, after many requests my English classes from foundation year were not accepted. I have to complete an online advance English class before my departure and the most susceptible time is during the first portion of my co-op July 5- Aug 23. Completing this requirement during this time will allow me to submit my application for my expatriate year during the fall semester of 2017 and place me on track to continue my degree and graduate on time. Consequently, if I don't complete this class there is a chance my application will not be accepted and I will have to drop out of my program. At this point having to drop out of my program with just a short amount of time remaining would be detrimental to my academic success and future endures. In addition, to hindering me from using the scholarship aid in the most meaningful way. While I greatly appreciate the chance to attend Northeastern, I'm afraid I will be unable complete my degree and continue pursing my passion. I’m asking that given the circumstances, that the committee grant me this opportunity. I am serious about my future and I
The previous semester, which was my first semester at Howard’s University, was hindered, because of the new environment and different style of teaching. Being homesick also prevented me from meeting my set goals for academic progress. It was my first experience studying at a college level within America, although that is not an excuse for my shortcomings, it does briefly explain how I had trouble learning the academic standard at Howard. I would like to emphasize that I do take my studies seriously and passed each freshman course related to the civil engineering major degree program. Without my Howard University Freshman Scholarship, it would be impossible to take the courses that I need for the next academic semester. This suspension is an added financial
My name is Kaha Salad and I am appealing my Satisfactory Academic Progress suspension. Autumn semester of 2013 was a difficult time for me, I was going through many different changes in my life and I just didn’t know how to adapt. I experienced a personal event in the summer of 2013 that made my life change forever. My Grandmother Khadija died, she was the light of my family’s lives. My mother was immensely affected by her death, she went into a state of depression and she then stopped working. I took it upon myself to help out my grieving mother and get a job to help pay with the bills that was piling up. I began working
Scholarship, leadership, character, and service are four attributes that define an excellent student. Being in high school, it’s difficult at times to be a leader, show your character, and be involved with voluntary services while being focused on scholarship, but I have managed to do all four numerous times. I am so grateful and excited to have the chance to be a part of the National Honors Society.
What are the circumstances that brought you to apply for the foundation emergency fund scholarships?
Throughout high school I have dreamed of having the opportunity to attend Indiana University. I have a true passion for babies. I love to learn how babies are developed and how they become such an amazing part of the world. Therefore, I would like to apply to Indiana University and pursue a degree in Pediatric Nursing. I would love to be able to deliver babies and deliver new life into this earth. There are several opportunities available for me to get involved with new leadership opportunities. I want to be able to be a leader for all age groups.
My name is Valorie M Altamirano, and I am a Central Arizona College graduate with an Associate degree in Fire Science Technology. Unfortunately, my degree does not meet the liberal study requirements to seek a Bachelor's degree. In order to achieve my goals, it is necessary that I complete seven General Study courses. The hold-up for continuing my education is unemployment, ineligibility for a Pell grant and a hold for a $252 charge that will prevent future
Therefore, as the Carle Financial Assistance program has approved our application, we understand that the balance of $1,748.90 indicated in the table above should be covered by the CFA. So, we assume that your letter inviting us to apply to financial assistance is a mistake and not a bad joke. You can find attached the letters we have received from you showing you have approved our financial assistance between November 2016 and November
The Dual Enrollment Appeals committee recently met to discuss an appeal submitted for Mr. Gregorio Tanguma for classes taken in the Summer II of 2015. Mr. Gregorio is requesting to be dropped at 100% from both of the following courses;
I am writing this appeal letter, because I have received a letter saying that I am eligible to attend the University of Wisconsin La Crosse anymore due to my academic standing. I wish, and hope that you may reconsider. I have been attending this college for two years now, hoping to go on my third. And I would love to say that I enjoy this community very much and that I wish to stay. I wish to grow better as a student and as a member of the college community. Here in this college I am currently a leader of InterVarsity, a Christian organization on campus, and have been active in HOPE, a Hmong organization on campus. Although I have been active within the college community and have been success at it, I have failed towards being a student.
The heart of who I am, my personality, and all the things I have been involved with, I believe stems from my parents and where I am from. I grew up in the United States but was born in Kenya. My mother is Kenyan and my father is from Togo in West Africa. I have been honored to be exposed to different cultures and people. This has helped me to appreciate diversity in others. From my own group of friends, to the types of food I like to eat. I am always willing to try something new and learn something from another part of the world. I’m constantly looking up videos on YouTube about places to travel, how to develop a certain accent, whatever it may be. I’m proud of my heritage and how it has helped me become the person I am today.
When notified by a few peers that they had seen my name on a nomination list for the National Honor Society, I was surprised and genuinely flattered. After researching more about what it was, it was an honor to be recognized for all I do every day in order to be successful in life. Every year I make sure I take every opportunity to get the best education I can, like all honors or AP classes. My freshman year, I took AP Biology and have to admit I was initially intimidated, but I knew if I applied myself and kept on going through the course it would benefit me in the long run and I ended with a B and was ecstatic when I discovered that I passed the AP test. Passing one AP course gave me the ambition to go ahead and take more, so next year I plan on taking three AP classes; Psychology, Environmental Science and U.S. History. Along with these, I am very set on dual enrolling. I’m willing to work as hard as I can in order to ensure my success.
I need this scholarship to achieve my goals and most importantly to make my family proud. My family did not get this chance that you are giving me so I am not just doing this for me, I am also doing this for them. I already have all the support from all of my family and all of my friends, but that alone is not enough to conquer my dreams, and to prove all the people that have doubted me that they were wrong. I hope that this organization can help me reach my goals, and to most importantly make them become a reality. I want to look back onto my life and know that this scholarship, and college helped me to be the man I will be. I hope you accept me into your college and most importantly giving me this
I am writing today to appeal my academic probation status so that I may continue receiving the Pell Grant for my studies. I have had an obvious stumble in my beginnings with FAU but I am certain that with steps I've taken this summer I will be back on track to a good academic standing while completing my bachelor's degree. After withdrawing from two classes this past spring I dropped below the 67% required completion rate. Despite this, I persisted and paid for a summer class myself. I also withdrew from this second-attempt class.
I am writing to confirm that I would like to accept a place on the waitlist, and also to describe my recent accomplishments and explain why Rice would be a perfect fit for me. Over the past few months, I’ve thought about my future and learned a lot about myself. I’ve joined a Dungeons and Dragons group, something I’ve always wanted to do, despite my fears of being rejected. I’ve worked hard on my schoolwork, and am trying to keep my grades up despite the pressures and challenges of senior year. As my robotics team’s Safety captain, I’ve led the team to a Safety Award at all three of our competitions, and hope to earn another at the World Championship competition. I’ve began applying
Everyone who wants to get a college education should have the chance, but for some students it can feel like there are too many barriers in the way. Applying to college is not an easy task. “My first piece of advice, is that you can do this!” says Sam Scoggin, dean of admissions at The International School of Dakar. “It may seem complicated and difficult at first,” he adds, but “there are potentially big rewards as a result of doing it!” Applying to college means more than just filling out forms. There are several steps to follow.
