To the Rice University Office of Undergraduate Admission: I am writing to confirm that I would like to accept a place on the waitlist, and also to describe my recent accomplishments and explain why Rice would be a perfect fit for me. Over the past few months, I’ve thought about my future and learned a lot about myself. I’ve joined a Dungeons and Dragons group, something I’ve always wanted to do, despite my fears of being rejected. I’ve worked hard on my schoolwork, and am trying to keep my grades up despite the pressures and challenges of senior year. As my robotics team’s Safety captain, I’ve led the team to a Safety Award at all three of our competitions, and hope to earn another at the World Championship competition. I’ve began applying
Day in and day out we hear about high school and college students wanting to pursue a sorority and/or a fraternity based on the stereotypes these organizations uphold, well I chose to differ. I told myself if I ever decided to become a member of a sorority it would be based solely on their ethical standards, history, and values they are founded upon. Alpha Kappa Alpha, Incorporated consists of ladies of distinction and exemplary character who excel in scholarship, leadership, and service, which are qualities I have chosen to uphold. From my perspective, I encourage myself to maintain a respectable appearance and reputation which doing so inspires me to embrace my self-concept; which helps me confidently excel academically and professionally as a “lady of distinction” and “exemplary character.” Most importantly, I continuously remain involved in community service, being involved allows me the opportunity to learn and understand the lives and circumstances of others by opening my mind, heart, and soul. Overall these qualities strengthen my passion to be a member of the prestigious Alp...
Since my first visit at the Air Force Academy as a young boy, I instantly realized this is where I want to go. Ironically, I never why I wanted to go, was it my parents will or the expectations of others and myself? As I started to mature and grow, I learned more about the academy and what it really meant to become a cadet. The opportunity to have a world class education pushed me to pursue acceptance to the Academy. Going to the Summer Seminar will give me a chance to explore many aspects of cadet life to further enrich my interest in the Academy.
Thank you so much for interest in me as a candidate. I remain truly excited by Stanford, and I hope there is a chance to continue my work in your environment.
I am writing in reference to Suny Lizeth Chirinos and her job application as a substitute teacher. I have known Suny Lizeth Chirinos for ten years as her friend. Since the time I met Suny she demonstrated to be a tough and responsible human being. At the time she was working for a dentistry office where she demonstrated her passion of working with kids, adolescents, and adults. It takes a special kind of person to endure the daily taskers of dealing with patients throughout the years.
The letter that Skylar had been waiting on for a while finally arrived. It’s his acceptance letter to The Fort Valley State University 1890 land-grant institution. This is the conversation we had on the bus ramp early one morning as Skylar was entering the building. Skylar has been one of my best agriculture students for the last four years. He is dedicated and has a strong willingness to succeed. Since the first day of my class he has always had a dream to attend college, but because he was a special needs student and money was a problem he wasn’t sure he would be accepted. This acceptance letter was proof for him that he was going to college and become an animal science major. Skylar is the first in his family to go to college. During this time of the year Skylar isn’t the only one getting these acceptance letters, thousands of students all over the country are
The election night of 2000 was a pivotal moment in my life. I stayed up all night on November 7th, 2000, not because I was enthralled with watching Florida flip-flop between Gore and Bush, but because I had an IV in my arm which made it impossible to be comfortable. Earlier that evening, I was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes, a disease affecting 1 of 800 people in America. This was an especially crucial time in my life, considering I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis—an autoimmune disease that attacks the GI track in 1 of 1400 Americans—the June before, and I had my Bar-Mitzvah in September. According to the Jewish religion, I had become an adult, and as such, I had decided to greet my new medical challenges with gusto, attempting to see the silver lining from the very beginning. I cannot say that I am glad I was nature’s statistical anomaly, but I am thankful for the opportunity to see from a young age how to turn a tough situation into a positive. After almost nine years, I come back to this pivotal night in my life because it marked a change that still plays a part in my life now, and will continue to shape me in the future.
In conclusion, I believe that I can offer a wealth of expertise and experience in contributing towards the continued development of a cohesive, dynamic and collaborative school that focuses on offering outstanding world class learning opportunities for all. I consider myself to be a good role model to students and staff alike and I am committed to leading by example. This, combined with my drive, infectious optimism and commitment to playing a full role within the school beyond those duties set out, make me a strong candidate for the post.
It's with great exuberance that I submit a general application for the Administrative Assistant position at your establishment. With over ten years' experience as an administrative professional, I know my diverse accomplishment and qualifications will nominate me as an asset to the team.
My main goal while attending Baylor would be to achieve the best education possible and improve myself as a person, as well as grow stronger in my faith. I am looking to become a Pre-Nursing student and I have heard that Baylor contains one of the best medical programs in this area, prompting it to be on the top of my list of potential colleges. One of the main reasons i was drawn to Baylor is it’s strong Baptist roots. I am a strong Christian and I strive to be the salt and light of the world, as Jesus called us to be. I see great potential for Baylor to help me grow in my faith while also preparing me for my future career.
I have accomplished a lot in a short period; however, my journey is not complete until I continue my education. Essentially, this degree will help foster my growth and career success. My passion and dedication will speak for itself. My hard work and determination will prevail and I am a fit more than the next applicant because I have the passion, experience, critical thinking and analytical skills needed to complete this program through successfully arguing my capstone in front of a board or committee. My goals are definitely aligned with this program and I hope my next read is an acceptance letter from the admissions council.
“My apologies I forgot to introduce myself. I am Sandra Whiteson. I am the head of the NYU application
My intense passion for learning has shifted my life in a new and positive direction. I feel that my personal experiences and challenges have served as a basis for growth and preparation for a life of helping others. This is why I have worked so hard to complete my undergraduate education despite my many responsibilities. I believe that this makes me a great candidate for this program. I am a diligent and attentive person who deeply cares for others in need. I feel that everything that has brought me to where I am today has shaped my life and will make me a great social worker. I want to thank you very much for considering my application for the master of social work program.
In conclusion of this application I would like to thank the committee for taking the time out of their busy lives to contribute to us, future graduate students, and I am excited to take the next step in my life, which is undertaking a graduate studies program. Again thank you for your time and consideration. I will wait patiently for your response.
