It was a bright sunny day, The flowers were blooming, Birds are singing however I am stuck in the car on my way to my sister's soccer game. Man does that stink, I didn’t even have a choice to begin with! So this is how it went down, “ Adam you need to go to kate's soccer game,” Mom yelled from her dressing room. “But mom why can’t I stay here Kate’s soccer games are always boring, and the only thing that they have there is that dumb little playset!” I rudely interrupted. At last, We Are Here, I can get out of the car And Breath the fresh air. The second I step out of the car a wave of fresh flowers and Beautiful scenery crashes over me. Now that I think of it I haven't been outside much at all this year. I should have listened when my mom said to go outside more. I can still hear her voice, “Go outside more you lazy bum!” As soon as I get out of the car I see the little playset, Still standing. To my bewildering surprise there wasn’t anyone on the playset. Not a single soul. I rushed over to the playset Filled with joy! Remember when I said that I didn’t like the playset, well I changed my mind. I never really played on it and it was actually really fun. It’s the saying “ Don’t judge a book by it’s cover” but I knew that no one played on it and that it was really bad. I mean if you just look at it

Did you know that most of the U.S.A was just being moved into in the 1840's? There were benefits and consequences to those who moved west and the government. There were too many people moving out west and our relations with the natives worsened. Even though we wouldn't have Texas and California if we moved west, I'm sure we would still be able to California a different way than invading other people's land. The people of the U.S in that time period shouldn't have just gone in there and take over the land. The consequences outweighed the benefits by far, we worsen relations with the natives and we were losing people to the west.

Millennials desire and seek a sense of belonging within their environment. This emotional connection can be described through the use of several different terms: sense of place, sense of community, placemaking and place attachment. When Soris described his life in the Alienage, I pictured a humble community of elves working together despite the cruel treatment they received from humans. However, staring at the decrepit wooden shacks, stacked on one another two or three stories tall, I wondered if he exaggerated his story to paint a better picture of his life outside a prison cell.
“So, that’s what I want to do. You aren’t doing this to me no more. I’m telling my momma everything!”
My mother, Stacy Schmidt, is a strong, beautiful and intelligent woman, whom I admire and aspire to be like one day. Growing up, she moved to many different places, in and out of the United States because her father was in the Air Force. Because of this, she had to make many new friends and adapt quickly. When she graduated from high school, her family was living in Colorado so she decided to stay at home and attend Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Schmidt was eager to start college which led her to begin a college class the day after graduation! Since leaving Pikes Peak Community College she attended University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, University of Northern Colorado, Arizona State University, and finally
International students face many different challenges when studying abroad. This is due to many factors. First they are living in a country very far away from their own. The country they are studying in also has a very different way of life than theirs. Also the laws in foreign country are much different than the laws in their own country. Due to that they face a lot of problems trying to adapt to this new culture. Me personally as an international student in the US studying in ASU have faced three particularly difficult challenges that I was able to overcome through time. In this essay I will explain how international students can overcome tough challenges and situations.
Most memories from my childhood, below the age of six, are dim, but the retentive ones are me, a cheerful young girl, spending my summers in Israel. Summer after summer I would fly to Israel and explore the seas, cities, and landmarks, and never get tired of them, as if it was my first time seeing them. Not only did I get the benefit of seeing new places and the opportunity to experience a new culture in which I’m not used to, I also was fortunate enough to have the chance to learn things about myself and the world around me. Everyday was a new adventure waiting to happen. I faintly recall the haunting sounds of the sirens flaring from a distance, and the fear in everybody’s eyes as they sought shelter.
When faced with new environmental changes and a lifestyle to adapt to, many college students feel overwhelmed by homesickness. Homesickness is most commonly due to anxiety, depression, and loneliness. A research studied concluded that homesick college students are three times more likely to drop out than non-homesick students. For many first-year college students, being away from home can be like an adventure. It’s exhilarating to be off on your own and completely in charge of your life and social well-being. I know that during my first week in college, I didn’t feel homesick at all because I was so anxious to meet new people, explore campus, and check out my classes. However, as I got more used to
Everyone has a story and their story can be changed easily with a simple occurrence. The actions someone chooses in life can affect someone else’s life story either in a miniscule way or in a drastic way. When moving on from a career, a school, a job or friends one can only wish that everyone they leave behind can look at all the memories that were shared and they will smile. Leaving someone with great memories is the best way to change someone’s life. A lot of people would like to be remembered for looks, GPA, or even athletics but in moving on, one can only hope to leave behind a legacy of being selfless, reliable, trustworthy, and honest.
