Mexico is a country in the Latin American region, actually the second largest economy after Brazil in this region. It currently have a population of over 120 million people being the 12th most populous in the world and the second in the Latin American region. It is the largest Spanish speaking nation in the world with as many as 92.7% of its citizens speaking Spanish. Mexico is the second country in the world after Chile in disparity between the poor and the rich (the richest person in the world Slim Julian, comes from this country while others live in extreme poverty). Socio-Cultural Acceptance Of Product-Is Adaptation Necessary? According to an article by the Washington Post “Middle-class Mexicans snap up more products ‘Made in U.S.A,’” most Mexicans associates American products with quality and thus show a lot of brand loyalty towards them. With the increasing middle class the consumption of various products will thus rise. Shoes, associated with health and fashion will thus experience a higher demand as the purchasing powers increases. According to this article “The growing middle class that is fast becoming Mexico’s majority is buying more U.S. goods than ever.” (Miroff & Booth) With the government insistence on the need to exercise due to increase prevalence of the obesity (at 27% of the population and 70% overweight) menace in the country people are also becoming aware of the need to exercise. This runs throughout the country’s demographics. Children and adults of below the ages of 54 years are thus most likely to engage in physical exercises as a means to curb obesity.
