Therefore, immigration is the permanent residency of people that choose to move to a new country. There are debates concerning the immigrants who enter the United Stated illegally and as the daughter of immigrant parents, I am fortunate to be born in this country. There are functions and dysfunctions in the immigrations groups and families. As an immigrant, my father worked multiple hours, starting his morning in the field work picking fruits, vegetables, etc. and evening at a restaurant. The little money collected, with time, my father was able to pay for the loaned money he used for a ?Coyote? that transported him from the border to a near city with family and to cross my mother. Both parents working morning and evening jobs were granted a residency card from their field job because of their extended years of working with the company. The residency card is to be renewed every ten years and as a resident, they are to obey the laws and stay out of trouble. Therefore, allowing my parents to have better opportunities such as; minimum wage jobs, Driver?s License and renting their own home. Although my mother had the opportunity to minimize her working hours and stay home with her children she continued to work and pay a nanny because she learned to work at a very young age and has been self- sufficient since then. The Immigration and Nationality Act is also known as the Hart-Cellar Act and other immigration groups have shaped my families past by being a diverse community. The different languages used in the U.S. is an advantage for those who are bilingual and there is a high demand for bilingual speakers. Nowadays, United States is the country that has variety of cultures, races, etc. mixing together by having immigrants in their countries. However, they need to control these group of people also. More people out of country are trying to stay in the U.S. However, this is not an easy process to deal with. There is an immigrant policy that they have to go through. In the past, United States is wide open for people to settle down on this land. There is no process of immigrants. However, in the middle of 1840 to 1880, immigrants started to come in the U.S. such as Irish and Chinese because of demanding of unskilled and cheap labors. Some countries of Latin America such as Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Panama have been experienced economic problems the past years. Since there is no way to solve that problems, people have to migrate to another country such as the US because they are looking for a better life. They pick the United States because it is one of the most stable, well organized and safe country in the world. For those reason Latinos decided to move to the US, however, moving to the US is not an easy decision to make because Americans are not familiar with Latino immigrants due to problems that they have been had with Mexicans, so Americans established many rules that make immigrants get in troubles if they do something stupid when they try to enter in
Immigrants must overcome many barriers to succeed in America. First, migrants frequently must learn a new language. Inability to communicate is a critical barrier for accessing the health care system (Urrutia-Rojas, Marshall, Trevino, Lurie, & Minguia-Bayona, 2006). Second, the processes of work and schooling for themselves and their families can be daunting. Lastly, immigrants use the established social network of longer duration residents for reference and knowledge (Nandi, Galea, Lopez, Nandi, Strongarone, & Ompad, 2008). For purposes of this report, there are three different types of immigrant: legal, undocumented, and refugees or persons seeking asylum. All three types of residents want to succeed and achieve their personal dream.
Immigration is the greatest part of American history. In the beginning, Immigrants brought a vast variety of cultures and beliefs and turned America in to the beauty it is today. Ever since the 1800s, America has been undergoing a gradual change that would change the lives of Americans further on. Americans has been constantly debating whether immigration is or is not beneficial to the country and its inhabitants. Such is why immigrants have difficult times assimilating, more importantly joining, into the American culture. While some would argue that immigrants have been cultural benefactors to the American society, others would argue that they are rather a threat to everything American. Immigrants, who believed that their freedom would come from America, found the exact opposite of what they were expecting. Contrary to popular opinion, illegal immigrants do not contribute to the U.S. economy. Instead they cost more by using government provided services, taking jobs from native workers, and reducing wages by competition with native workers. Proudly a nation of immigrants the United States attracts people from all over the world because we are a nation of laws. Immigration has always been a large conflict people have faced all across the world. There are plenty of reasons why people migrate to a country, whether it may be the United States or any other particular one. Many people often come in an attempt to escape poverty, crime, or to simply have a better opportunity to better their lifestyle. Although there are people who migrate and commit severe crimes, there are others who sacrifice themselves in order to live a better life. In addition to that, I believe the government should approve new immigration laws in favor of immigrants who come to better their life and achieve their dreams.
As an immigrant in the United States of America, you have to go through a lot of struggles and hardship to come to America from your homeland. You have to leave behind your family, friends, and valuable items and come to America for a better life with great opportunities. Immigration causes families to split up due to deportation. Nowadays most children are citizens of the US but their parents aren't. At times, parents are afraid to be deported back to where they came from, knowing that they have a family to support and be there for. When this type of thing occurs, families split up and usually have to carry on with the fact that one or even two family members are gone. Some of the affects are that children are then forced into foster care or single parents move on without the support of another well being.
An important question asked today is who is impacted by immigration? The world as a whole is facing a challenge on how to handle the cases of immigration. The latest development in immigration cases is what is currently happening in the Mediterranean Sea where Africans are migrating into Europe illegally. This paper will, however, not look into the case in Europe but rather what is happening in America at the moment. The paper will analyze immigration in America, why people immigrate to America and how the challenge can be mitigated without causing a lot of harm to the society. This paper will, therefore, take a keen interest what is happening on the America-Mexico border.
Immigration poses an ongoing debate in which people are becoming increasingly unsure as to whether immigrants are benefiting their society. This paper will examine three of the main benefits of immigration: the increase in diversity it provides, the rise in skills and labor and the benefits to the economy. Immigration leads to cross-cultural integration, therefore increasing ethnic variety. This increase in diversity is beneficial as it leads to improvements in society, as well as educational development. Increased immigration also means there are more skills and experts available to the hosting countries, as well as extra workers to take up jobs that need filling. Immigration also leads to improvements in the economy as taxes are paid and employment and wages increase.
