An entrepreneur is a person who sets up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in hopes of making a profit. Prior to presenting our entrepreneurship promotion project, many of our students had a limited, if any idea, of what an entrepreneur is. The purpose of our entrepreneurship promotion project was to educate our fellow classmates on the roles of an entrepreneur and what it takes to become one. Entrepreneurs have to work through extreme measures in order to gain success aside from the fact they shall not dwell on failure and stay motivated to achieve their set goals. We wanted to promote and educate Landstown students, which we did by having them attend our entrepreneurship forum where they met with real entrepreneurs. This enhanced many students understanding of the qualifications for becoming an entrepreneur and the order of steps needed to take before doing so. Landstown High School has multiple alumni students who have achieved their goals in owning their own small businesses, and current students striving for success. Some of their businesses offer services to the community, while the others make their own products and sell them either online or locally in stores. We successfully contacted six? Entrepreneurs, with the assistance of our wonderful marketing teachers, to come in at a time for two days? where they would speak to over 250 business, economics, and marketing students. They were invited talk about their experiences, good and bad, to motivate and be a role model to the students that are interested.
