This strategy will help in minimizing emotionally charged responses due to emotional triggers that occur in our daily lives (Bradberry & Greaves, 2009). The benefits of this strategy are personal and spiritual growth as well as happiness and a successful career. In closing, I have learned that social awareness is about understanding and identifying other peoples emotions. It is not about “me” its about those who are around me. Self-awareness cannot truly be developed if my self-awareness is not fully developed. The challenging are I am focusing on is my self-confidence. Using the strategy choice, Lean in Your Discomfort, facing my feelings and emotions instead of avoiding them will also aid in the development of my self-confidence. Ultimately the benefits of having a strong EQ will help build trust and maintain strong relationship.
