Another benefit is provided by the company is emergency ride home programs. Emergency ride home (ERH) programs provide commuters who regularly carpool, vanpool, bike, walk, or transit to work with a reliable ride home when unexpected emergency arises. ERH programs are designed to rescue commuters who are worried about how they will get home in the event of an emergency. ERH programs may be established by individual employers. Usually the employer will pay for a taxi or rental car home in the case that an employee who is carpool passenger has to leave in the middle of the day or the carpool driver is for some reason unavailable. ERH tends to be a low-cost way to encourage carpool use, especially if a company only fills in coverage for areas
I believe that if you asked a group of people to list off issues regarding an emergency department then they would say long wait times throughout the process and being moved around to different areas of the emergency department. From what I have heard the long waits can be associated with waiting to get back to a room, waiting to see a nurse, waiting to see a doctor, waiting to go to radiology or lab, waiting on results, waiting to be discharged, or waiting to be admitted. All of these things in my opinion add up to one main problem, which is patient flow through an emergency department. In my opinion being able to have a controlled patient flow allows for improved wait times and decreased chaos for patients. So there are a few things
Rosa Parks said, “Racism is still with us. But it is up to us to prepare our children for what they have to meet, and, hopefully, we shall overcome.” Racism has troubled people for hundreds of years and has not solved. It seems as a chameleon; people may hardly to detect it, but it not means it does not exist. As Mary Mebane states in her article, “The Back Of The Bus”, she experienced how white people segregate black people in her lifetime. As Martin Luther King JR shows in his speech, “I Have a Dream”, he awakened black people struggle to against inequality with government and society. John Blake demonstrates in his article, “The New Threat: Racism Without Racists”, black people are still being treated unfairly in reality. “In 'Born free'
Have you ever had a time when you had to never give up? Never giving up means keep trying until you get it. In the story, Fly Away Home by Eve Bunting, the theme is never giving up. The first reason to support the claim is the bird, who never gives up on trying to get out of the airport. The second reason to support the claim is the dad, who never gives up on finding a school that Andrew can go to. The last to support the claim is Andrew, who never gives up on earning money for him and his dad to buy an apartment. Those are three reasons to show how the theme of the story, Fly Away Home, is never giving up.
The first human factors problem I identify is the sparking electric night-light. It is the cause of the fire and thus it is definitely had the design problem from the aspect of human factor. Next is the design of installation of steel security bars at each and every window. Although the design of the steel security bars is to protect the residents of the house, it has a fatal disadvantage which is limited the escape action of the residents. The case study proposed a solution to it which is panic hardware. However, the house only installed one set of panic hardware and this indicated another human factor problem that occurred in setting up the security system of the house. Moreover, the one and only set of panic hardware in the house was required to be stomp harder for activation. This reflected poor human factor design of the panic hardware.
Good teamwork is important in a patient centred care. It is a team of health professionals who actively participate, cooperate, interact, communicate expertise, respect, trust and its main focus is to improve patient’s health (Miller, 2008, p.14). Also, the team includes the family of the client and the patient itself (Miller, 2008, p. 15). Therefore, all members have a role to play. For instance, in the nursing practice it involves health promotion and maintenance regarding patient’s health in order to decrease the impacts of negative outcomes (NMBA, 2010). Nevertheless, this can be maintained under the national competency standard (NMBA, 2010). Part of the national competency standard promotes professional responsibility, multidisciplinary approach, critical thinking and client care delivery (NMBA, 2010).

Since my freshmen year of high school, I have met peers who rely on public transportation to get to school every day since the school bus system did not serve their neighborhood. They were students who were eager to come to school everyday, relying on MTS to transport them to school on time every day. Similarly, my mother relies on MTS to get her to work on time every morning and home every afternoon. Both students and adults alike have had little to no problems with the transportation system; when there were problems, MTS was able to adjust their schedules or routes to serve the community. A friend who just recently began to rely on public transportation to transport her to school has told me the interesting experiences she has encountered during the time she has used the public transportat...
Many of us imagine how amazing life will be living happily ever after,’-however, for many, love can be extremely dangerous. Many relationships deal with abuse such as physical violence, sexual abuse, verbal assault and manipulation. It is important to protect those who may be victims of domestic violence, and to understand, and support them. Domestic Violence can happen to anyone, regardless of gender, race or sexual orientation. The Justice System is not effective in supporting victims of Domestic violence. The law currently only provides support to victims after they have endured abuse. The Intervention Order Act will provide support for victims to escape abuse before experiencing conflict. The judicial system needs to expand to allow one
There are cost benefits for both the employee and the employer when an employee telecommutes. We will examine employee cost-benefits first. Reducing or eliminating the commute to and from work each day reduces the amount of gas or public transportation costs for employees. According to Lea Green with PGi, a leading provider of collaboration software and services, “Two billion gallons of gas would be saved annually by a U.S. telecommuting workforce” (2013). Individually, depending on each employee’s commute distance, gas costs savings could be significant. Figure 1 demonstrates fuel costs for one year for employees traveling 30, 50, and 70 miles per day, round-trip (at the current IRS mileage rate of $ .54/mile) via automobile for one year (IRS,
On the 7th of March in 2018, I attended the Community experience with the EMS team at Fire station of area one. This station is located at the northeastern corner of nine mile road. Upon arrival I introduce myself to the team. Every member of the team was presented in a professional manner that included: one’s skills, education, and the years of experience. During the meeting, several subjects were discussed such as: nursing student’s objective from this experience, Clarifying tasks and tactics, protocols and daily operations. All the tasks were executed with each member of the team with integrity, honesty and beneficence to the warren community. During the twelve hours shift, there
Have you ever thought about people who lived on the streets well In Fly away home by Eve Bunting, the main character andrew is poor and lives in an airport and learns that he should be thankful for what he has
In theory these systems could lead to great reductions in private vehicle trips but past experiences show different results and one of the reasons is the schedule differences between people. Carpooling systems search that higher occupancy, particularly in commuter trips, associating neighbors who travel to work places next to each other, using their vehicles one at a time on a day-to-day or week-to-week basis. The advantages for the user can be fuel cost reduction, automobile maintenance reduction, parking availability and increased trip comfort. From its viability point of view the most difficult pools to form are those constituted by people who are not part of the same household, “external” carpooling, and that is why they represent a smaller share of the total carpoolers in the Washington, D.C. where these programs started earlier. At the same time these are the most interesting from its potential result in congestion reduction, because the “external” carpool feels the responsibility for vehicle provision and driving which is difficult to break when there is less intimacy between people. Some experiences have been conducted to incentive “external” carpooling, mainly in the Washington, D.C. and Europe, but they have been obtaining limited success mainly for schedule differences between participants and because of the difficulty in
It’s a rainy morning. I prepare myself for what’s about to happen in the woods with my getaway vehicle driver. We finally make the drive towards the planned location. In the early hours of 4:48 a.m. I enter the 24-hour bank armed with a pistol hidden in my coat. I am wearing a wig, makeup, and prosthetics to hide my appearance. I approach the counter where a banker stands on the other side. I hand the banker a note to give me the money from the vault. They walk slowly over to the door in the back and I follow them. No one in the bank has noticed this. He opens the vault, but seems to have a change of heart as he gets into a struggle for my weapon. After some fighting, I get the gun aimed at him and fire from close range. I run in, take some of the money, and get out in the confusion. I hop in the getaway vehicle before any police arrive. We
My colleague and I received an emergency call at 03.40hrs to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision. Once on the scene it was confirmed as a high-speed collision. I was given a brief handover from the lead paramedic who was dealing with a patient that had sustained serious deceleration injuries due to the mechanisms involved. The paramedic stated,” the patient is mechanically trapped we have to wait for the fire service to cut him free”. Our priority at this stage was to prevent further deterioration of the patient and to promote his recovery by means of reassurance, pain relief in addition to treating the various injuries that he had sustained. I calculated the fire brigade would be with us very shortly, due to the fact the occupants of the other car involved were being extricated and loaded into awaiting ambulances by members of The Hazardous Area Response Team (HART). I decided that this would be an appropriate time to lead a discussion within the group on how the extraction would take place.
When we consider the expensiveness, we think that public transportation is better than driving your own car. The price of public transportation ticket has been always economical, it costs round about 40 Afghani for pick and drop from one destination to another. Unlike personal transportation, people not only pay for different kind of expenses, such as gas, parking, and insurance, but also pay for surprising accident too, such as fixing the unexpected damage occurred in the car during an
