Elvis Presley Elvis Presley is mainly known as a musician from Memphis that created rock ‘n’ roll and inspired many kids to become famous musicians. Though Elvis may seem like a person that was granted a special talent that only he has, he was just a normal kid that followed his dream of becoming a globally known musician. Like any other famous person, Presley gained many different awards for the things he did in his life, like improving music in many different ways. Elvis Presley is a famous celebrity that went through with his life like many other musicians, movie stars, and army men before him and is known to this day.
Childhood
Like most other famous musicians and movie stars, Elvis had a childhood in which he started what would become a lifetime job. As said, Elvis invented Rock ‘n’ Roll, while also bringing together country and western, gospel, old-style rhythm, and blues (Barber 94). He released numerous number one albums including From Elvis in Memphis (Nelson). There was a recording station in Memphis owned by Sam Phillips that Elvis went to to record a song for his mother called “My Happiness” (Nelson). Furthermore, “his first big hit was “Heartbreak Hotel” in 1956, and it was followed by many more, including “Hound Dog” and “Love Me Tender” (Barber 94). A while after Elvis went to the studio to record “My Happiness”, Sam Phillips encouraged him to work with guitarist Scotty Moore and bass player Bill Black to record some songs together (Nelson). Including the many songs named before, Elvis recorded many different songs, improving Rock ‘n’ Roll and many other heavily known song types.
