Of course, all students face these kinds of questions. They want to do something, but they don’t have enough time, so how can we solve this problem? The solution is time management. First, you need to know how you daily spend your time . So sit and take a piece of paper then start writhing things that you do when you wake up in morning until you go bed to sleep. You also need to write time that you use for each activity. For example , I spend 10 minutes when I ate breakfast. After noting things down , look at activities and time that you took in doing it . Then , start to evaluate these activities by looking at result that you got. You will notice that you did some useless activates , that wasted your time. You will also notice that there are some important activities which you need to provide them with more time. Therefore, you need to analyze results and give appropriate time for each activity. As in above example, I think I need to spend less time like five minutes for breakfast. As Panella (2001) said noting things down, will help you to know where you waste and use your time ,and then manage it. You will see which activity needs more time and which needs less? Second, as you analyzed your activities , you need to set your priorities. You should write or list things that you want to accomplish based on its importance and urgency. Important activities needs more time and effort. As Tolstoy (n.d.) said you need to set your goals depending in your priorities. For example, if you have a math homework which you need to submit it tomorrow and you also have to prepare for a presentation , and the presentation will be next week , How you will set your priorities? You need to write your math homework first because it is urgent, and you could prepare your presentation after writing your homework. you will just take around 5 to 10 minutes writing your homework and about 15 minutes start to preparing your presentation. Doing presentation looks like a big project ,so if you breaks this project in small tasks that you can do them in different days , you will save time and

After completing this assignment I realized that my time management is very “mediocre” according to my scores on my time management quiz. I was actually very surprised because I thought that my time management was acceptable not great but at least decent. I scored 41 points on my quiz, meaning that I do need to improve my time management. Though, I am actually very close to being good, the score for good is 45 points. When it comes to our personal and professional lives, Managing your time efficiently should be a mastered ability. As a student, this could have a huge effect on performance and grades. Seeing that Time Management is imperative when it comes to college and success, recognizing bad habits, should be one of the first obstructions immediately eliminated from your daily schedule. Create new habits if you tend to procrastinate and start planning ahead to manage your most important priorities. According to David Allen (2001),"Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity" (p.59) "changes in the way you clarify and organize all things that command your attention-could represent a significant shift in how you approach some key aspects of your day to day work." Setting up deadlines and completing your assignments a few days before the due date will eliminate the procrastination stage. Creating a list with the most important priorities first, will help sort out your assignments and eliminate stress and feeling overwhelmed.
Having great time management is a technique that one has to learn to use if one wants to be successful in life. One had to realize that it was time to stop playing and get serious about one's grades. One did not want to end up out of the program that one was in. alos one did not want to make bad impression on one’s self to colleges. Colleges look at one’s transcript from the time one gets in highschool til’ the time one graduates. One did not colleges to not accept one. One’s grades depend one’s future. That future can either be good or god. One needs to chose if one wants a wonderful future or a terrible
What do we know about time management? As adults we should know a lot about time management. We all strive to become the best that we can be. This alone should encourage us to learn about time management. Every aspect of our lives depends on it. If we try to plan, organize, and execute our ideas most of the time we can manage it well, but when we go the other route, and jump out there feet first, most of the time we do not do as well. This is not the case in every light, but usually it is the norm. Even as we sit in class trying to better ourselves by improving on our education, we learn that we must manage time to the best of our abilities. This is not done only for school, but for our families for those of us that have children and spouses. A lot of the time, we manage to get everything done and leave ourselves out in the cold when it comes to making time for ourselves. If it is not our job or school we are trying to meet someone else's needs.
Time management is not a new idea and many methods have been proposed regarding the best way to handle time management issues for business students. These suggestions can often be quite simple, such as writing down lists of things to do in order to support people in making good use of their time for work or recreational purposes. When time pressures are high, planning tasks and actions does not always lead to the completion of the work. It is in recognition of this that time management training programs have been designed, aiming to give an insight into the time required for activities, ways to make time plans, and increasing the efficiency of people by teaching them how to plan properly, how to prioritize tasks, and how to handle unexpected tasks. This is increasingly easy, particularly for students, as “books, articles, and time management training programs that were initially developed for managers have been made available to everyone”.(Claessens, Brigitte J.C. 2004).
First, time management is very important in a college student’s life. Being able to pick and choose class times to work around the work schedule can help the student manage their time efficiently. Also, getting to class on time and being prepared shows great time management because it shows that the student left time for their self and left time to study and do homework. When taking time out to plan the day and how the student can manage time it is great for the student to have a source to refer to or look at the refresh the mind on what they have to do next. College book stores have these materials for students to purchase like planners and calendars. Students can also use their sell phone to vibrate and pop a message up on what is next for the day. College students can also use these tools later...
PMBOK guide defines TM as the “Use of available time and your own productivity along with the appropriate planning and management of the project schedule” highlighting the link between Time Management and productivity and its closely knit relationship to scope and cost areas. Max Wideman presents a wider definition for TM as the “function required to maintain appropriate allocation of time to the overall conduct of the project through the successive stages of its natural life-cycle, by means of the processes of time planning, time estimating, time scheduling, and schedule control.” Ultimately at it’s core however, TM is about time, its planning and control during all stages of the project. A further look into Wideman’s definition of TM by means of identifying its importance throughout the entire project life-cycle (Initiation, planning, execution, controlling and close-out) is required. It is hoped that by analysing how TM tools and techniques can positively and negatively effect the different stages of the Project life cycle a better understanding of productivity, TM and project success will result.
