According to my meal tracker, it is recommended for me to consume a total of 2,000 calories per day, that of which contains 6 ounces of grains, 2 ½ cups of vegetables, 2 cups of fruits, 3 cups of dairy products, 5 ½ ounces of protein, and 6 tsp of oil. On Sunday, June 11th, I had already fallen short on the intake of grains and dairy however, I did manage to consume my daily 2 ½ cups of vegetables, two cups of fruits, six tsp of oil, and 2 ¾ ounces of protein all from the salad, crab soup, and mix berries I have eaten throughout the day. On Monday, June 12th, I ate a subway sandwich containing 1.3 ounces of protein, and two ounces of whole wheat bread, only 23% and 30% of the actual recommended amount. Recording my physical activity on the same three days, I am proud to say that I have gone past the recommended amount of exercise. On June 11th, I went for a walk around Waikiki for about three hours, hanging out with friends and going to the beach. When I got home, I took a break and then proceeded to go on a run while watching the sunset. This gave me another one hour which totaled to four hours of exercise. On June 12, I went on two hikes ; Lanikai Pillbox and Manoa Falls. Each hike took about about 2-3 hours giving me around five hours of physical activity. On June 13, I was back to summer school PE. Our new activities were noodle hockey (an invasion game played with a pool noodle and ball) and ultimate frisbee (which required a lot of running after the frisbee because we were pretty bad at compensating when the wind blew.) Although we had two breaks each 15 mins long, our PE class totaled to about five hours of physical activity, which of course, exceeded my recommended one

To begin with the three-day report, I will start with the intake of macronutrients; I fall below the recommended intake for calories. The value intake for calories was 1,263.83 and the DRI’s goal is 1,669.73 -76%, calories from fat value 172.86 DRI’s goal is 467.36 -37%, Calories from saturated fat value 41.23 DRI’s goal is 150.22 -27%. Consequently, these results indicate that I am not eating the right amount of calories/day. In an attempt to lose weight, I followed the wrong diet, so I will have to eat a bit more.
After a full week (7 days) I can conclude that my baseline data is as exactly as I sadly expected it to be. I started recording my baseline starting on Monday and ended my week on Sunday. Throughout that week I ate alarmingly unhealthy and made many unsound food decisions. There wasn’t much change from day to day in terms of eating healthier on any day. Throughout the work week (Monday-Thursday) I ate a rather low calorie nutritional breakfast of oatmeal which is what I always eat for breakfast at work. The weekend is where I normally eat out for breakfast. On Friday I ate Shipley’s Donuts and Home cooked Biscuits and Gravy on Saturday. Sunday I skipped breakfast and had lunch which consisted of a Taco Bell Quesorito and a soda. I know, I’m horrible! I have random spurts when I eat a lot of food during one week and other weeks when I do not consume much each day. This week was one of those weeks I really did not feel like eating very much. Some key factors that influenced my food and beverage intake were my school and work schedule, food cravings, and time management. I ran through the drive-thru of a non-healthy fast food restaurant. One of the nights, I was lazy and ordered a pizza which was not a good healthy choice for me. I recorded my food intake for two seperate days during the week. I kept track of my food intake for Wednesday the 21st of March along with that Saturday, the 24th of March. There were a couple differences when comparing the two days after recording them and looking at my Meal Summary. I ate a variety of foods both days when looking through my Meal Summary. I ate plenty of protein and grains during those two days along with fruits. When looking at both Wednesday and Saturday I noticed that I ate more on a weekday rather than on a weekend day. I came to the conclusion that it is because I am much more busy during the week verse the weekend.
