With the development of information technology,the traditional auto industry has been hitherto unknown impact. “Chancellor Philip Hammond told the BBC the objective was to have "fully driverless cars"(hammond.2017) without a safety attendant on board in use by 2021” Then automatic driving has become a hot topic. This essay will discuss advantages and disadvantages of driverless cars.

Firstly, it greatly improve the safety of car. According to the survey data, there are millions of traffic accidents every year. Most of the accidents are caused by drivers’ mistakes, such as drink driving、driving use mobile phone and driving with fatigue. Through use this high technology that could possible to avoid traffic safety due to the risk of driver error. Secondly, Environmental protection and energy saving. It is conceivable that the exhaust gas emitted by hundreds of millions of vehicles in the world will pollute the environment “ driverless vehicles are designed to optimize efficiency in acceleration and braking, they will also help improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. ”(Thompson.c.2016).
