Dream Job As a Sport Management major there are many career paths one could follow. From working with professional sport organizations, to park & recreation, fitness or even to become a sports agent, there are several opportunities. I have identified at least three entry-level dream jobs, that I would be more than happy to acquire upon my graduation. They consist of sport marketing, sporting event planner/coordinator, and game operations. Sport Marketing establishes a focus on both the promotion of sporting events and teams, as well as the products and service through the events and teams. I believe I possess these three skills; managing technology, decision making,

I believe I possess the skill of motivation for this position. I have been a captain of my high school football team. I know how to motivate my "teammates" to further better the team as a whole. "The ability to motivate employees to strive to achieve organizational goals and objectives as well as their own is an art form" (Barr, Hums & Masteralexis 2015). All three of my dream entry-level jobs require a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college/university. In the future, achieving a masters' degree in sport management would be extremely valuable for myself to aim towards a senior or more prominent position. (Sport Management Degrees 2016) My ultimate dream job is to be the owner of a Professional Sports Organization, whether it is in the NFL, NBA, MLB, or the NHL. I consider these entry-level jobs a great start to reach my ultimate dream. Connections, experience, and hard work will guide me to the top from being either a part of sport marketing, sporting event planner/coordinator, or game operations.
In two years after graduating from Kutztown University, I plan on two things. Either having one of my dream entry-level positions or planning on attending graduate school to further my credibility in the sport
It all started On September 20, 1985 at the insistence of Earle F. Zeigler, Robert Boucher, Janet Parks, and Beverly Zanger had a meeting in Windsor, Ontario in order to gather “a group of sport management academicians in order to identify common needs and concerns.” (NASSM, 2016). Then, they invited colleagues from other American and Canadian sport management to join them and “by October 4, from these discussion group, the North American Society for Sport Management was founded” (NASSM, 2016). By December 16, others with common interests joined the society and “selected Kent State University for the first NASSM conference” (NASSM, 2016).
Truck driving is a much needed career to help transport goods across the United States and other local areas. Commercial Truck Driving is the career I choose to uphold. Trucking is a way of transportation needed to keep business going. Trucking has been a part of my family for years so I fell in love with trucks now I won’t to drive my own. This career has a good background, career requirements, job positions, and a good reflection.
Every sports fan hates to admit the fact that sports are simply business, but it is undeniable that sports are one of the most lucrative businesses in the U.S. Right now the market for women's professional sports is growing rapidly. The best way for women's sporting organizations to promote and sell this market is to align with previously established organizations such as the NBA, NCAA and the USOIC. Although joining with men's organizations is a difficult process that involves compromise, merging with these organizations helps to land big television contracts, gives greater publicity, and brings in endorsements, advertisers and investors. The lack of these benefits was among the key factors in the failure of the ABL. Inversely, these are the reasons for the successes of the WNBA and women's sports in the Olympics.
People have been entertained by sport since before the gladiators in the Roman Coliseum. In the 20th century, the publics’ passion for sport consumes more and more of their free time. As sports figures became internationally recognized, athletes began to realize their need for professional representation. Thus, sports agents were born. The field of sports agents has grown since then into an enormous field. Agents now deal with every aspect of an athlete’s life. Agents can be considered professional mangers who find the best place for their client’s talent.

To satisfy my curiosity and gain a broad understanding of athletic training, I chose to interview my boss, Pete Stevens. Pete is employed by Physiotherapy Associates, a nationwide corporation that specializes in physical/occupational therapy, athletic training, and fitness/sports training. He has worked there for three years. He is currently the Head Athletic Trainer for The Arizona Rattlers. Pete received his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training at Boise State University in Idaho, followed by a graduate degree in Recreation from Arizona State University. He is currently considering additional education to become a Physician’s Assistant.
It's almost very necessary to have been on some sort of team at your high school to learn about the environment you'll be working in. Also volunteering will look good on an athletic directors resume, you could volunteer for the YMCA or umpiring a youth athletic team. You must have a bachelor’s degree in sports management, but a lot of athletic directors don't Start out being an athletic director usually they start as a teacher or a coach to gain some traction in the field. Getting a certification from The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association is key and it'll show that you are a registered athletic administrator, certified athletic administrator, and a certified master athletic administrator. The top three sports management degrees in the nation. The third best sports management degree in my opinion is the University of North Carolina. The program there prepares students for careers in very competitive settings within the sports world. The course offers training in sociology, sales, economics, and communication, licensing and marketing. The second best sports management degree is the University of Texas. This major prepares students for managerial, marketing or administrative careers in a variety of settings within the sports industry. The number one sports management degree program in my opinion is Temple University. The program at Temple University focuses heavily on internship requirements, in no small part because a degree in this field can be used in so many different sectors of the sports industry. Nobody in life ever said anything was easy, but with hard work it'll come easy. Athletic directors have a very big job to do in inspiring students to be the best and giving them all the tools they need to
I am interested in pursuing a career in athletic training. My school has a partnership with my local football team. I hope to visit your company for a day to obtain a better of the career I have chosen. I need to understand what qualifications I must have for such a career. I have always wanted to go into athletic training. Just imagine, if I got big enough in that, I can possibly be helping out a famous football player. To me, it would just be amazing to go and help somebody like Rob Gronkowski. It is possible that my favorite sports team will hire me. My favorite sports teams are the New England Patriots, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Cincinnati Reds.
Working at a school would not have been a top choice but as an athletic director it seems fun and enjoyable. An athletic director oversees all school sports and makes sure that everyone follows the rules and does not disobey the coaches (Bean-Mellinger, Barbara). They also have to attend all games and matches that are scheduled (Hinginbotham, Heather). As well as attending all the games they have to hire the officials that are needed for the games (Higinbotham, Heather). Athletic directors also might have to fire coaches and other athletic department employees if needed (Bean-Mellinger, Barbara). They also have to set or approve job descriptions for each position (Bean-Mellinger, Barbara). Every athletic director job is different depending on the size of school; their daily routine might be different from others. In smaller schools the athletic director might have to teach classes as well as do their own job. But as for larger school they will only be an athletic director. In some jobs they are physical education teachers as well as an athletic director (Baccadutre).
New employees would generally make $40,000. Sport marketers who work in a full-service marketing firm salaries range from $60,000-$400,000. Their salaries depend on their salary structure (base vs. commission). In order to become a sports marketer a person would have to obtain either a bachelor or master’s degree in sport management or general management with emphasis in sport marketing. Areas in sport marketing that could help one in receiving a job would include marketing research, consumer behavior, sales and promotions, sport law, communications, and public relations. Once you are near finalizing your college degree, most sport marketers finish an internship. I would like to touch on the future outlook and the hotbeds for a sports marketing job. The U.S. Department of Labor expects a 13% increase by 2018 in general marketing management. According to Forbes the hottest areas to work are currently New York City, New York; Oakland, California; San Jose, California; San Fransico, California; Long Beach California; and Boston Massachusetts. This is all based on listings for
As time progresses, watching and supporting sports is becoming more and more popular as a main source of entertainment. Many people have found ways to connect their jobs with their passion of sports. “The multibillion-dollar sports industry offers employment opportunities for management, marketing, and supervisory professionals at all levels of competition” (Sports Management 1). Depending on a person’s interests, there are jobs in professional, amateur, and even school sports. Once a person decides on a sport management career, it needs to be determined which area he or she more specifically wants to go into based on his or her interests and abilities.
As a person goes through the education system and has to think about their future, the main focus is on attaining a job. One has to look at their options and decide on one that is best for them. My future career as a sports agent will sustain me and provide the best quality of life when considering the job description, the process it requires in order to get into the career-field, and the advantages the career has to offer. A sports agent is a representative for professional athletes who work through different types of negotiations. The job entails providing advice concerning their athletes’ contracts and taking care of public appearances as well as financial investments.
First, I would look for internships with local teams or minor league team. I might even talk to the Parkside athletic director and see if they have any type of position. Being able to be the equipment manager for a team at Parkside would help fulfil the 1,800 hours of being a student equipment manager. After that, to fill my work experience required for the sport management degree I would try to find an internship with a minor league or professional team in the Chicago, Milwaukee area to get real life experience and help gain knowledge of what it is like working in the professional industry. Some of the stepping stones you can take to being an equipment manager is to get experience and then work your way up.
Most people imagine their dream job is to become a famous actor or a job they have seen done many times. Though because of the progression of technology I would be more suited in a field involving computers. My dream job is to become a successful software engineer because I have always been into computer systems, but can I fit this job, is the career life something I can manage and what opportunities should I go after when becoming a software engineer. Each time I notice how a program is used I wonder how can I make it become faster or more efficient. When you are using your cell phone or iPad there is usually an update at every month. This is because apple is improving the speed of your applications. A software engineer is sometimes overlooked, but without software engineer’s applications would either crash or would not improve. Although most people may feel looking at a computer all day and trying to fix it is uninteresting, I find it challenging
Life contains an unlimited amount of life lessons; my main life lesson has inspired me to never give up on myself or my goals. Through my life experiences I have learned that there is no such thing as failure. I am certain with myself that I can find success through hard work and dedication. My career aspiration is to help others as a healthcare professional. More specifically, I have a dream of pursuing a career in physical therapy. Nothing gives me more self-satisfaction than to see that I am able to help people self-improve. Therefore, I have committed to studying and preparing myself for graduate school. I am currently an Undergraduate student at the University of Central Florida, destined to graduate in the Fall of 2017. There are multiple Undergraduate degree paths I can take to prepare myself for grad-school; however, I chose a path that can help me develop skills to provide the best possible service for my future patients. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences
