MLK, A True Hero

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” (www.brainyquote.com) Dr. King, a true inspiration, a true man, and a true hero. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an inspiration to me because he gave people freedom and equality. Without him, blacks and whites would of probably never been treated as equals. What would life be like without Dr. King in America’s history?

Dr. King was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. His real name was Michael King Jr., but legally changed it to Martin Luther King Jr. When he was older, he graduated from Boston University and later attended Morehouse College …show more content…

Dr. King decided to get married to her, and so they did on June of the year 1953. They had 4 little children with the names of Yolanda, Bernice, Martin Luther King III, and Dexter Scott. King was happy with his life, but when racism had struck the city, he had a wonderful dream about his children being free. This had inspired Dr. King to write his, “ I Have A Dream,” speech which he had recited at the Lincoln Memorial. I thought this speech was a beautiful inspiration to me …show more content…

Several white men had been standing on the bus and demanded for Rosa and other colored people to give up their seats. The others listened, but Rosa would still remain seated, but this wasn’t the first time she had messed with the bus driver, James Blake. He asked her to move to another part of the bus but again, she refused to give up her seat. Later that evening, Rosa Parks was arrested for violating the Montgomery city code. A week later, the court had held a trial and Parks was found guilty for refusal of giving up her seat. She was charged and taken to jail but by that afternoon, E.D. Nixon had met King and other civil right locals to plan a citywide bus boycott in support of Rosa and racial equality. Because of his youth, professional standing and well-trained solid family connections, King was selected to lead the bus boycott. The boycott lasted 382 days and over 552 African Americans live in
