On Tuesday night the fans of “NCIS” were surprised with a flashback episode looking at Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard’s choices three decades ago. The unique story gave fans quite a bit of new information about the good doctor’s decision to come to America and shared how he made some swift decisions before working at NCIS. The NCIS team took on their latest case as a Navy Captain’s death, who took a rideshare car home, was discovered under unusual circumstances. The victim never made it back to his home and found dead only five blocks away from kissing his daughter goodnight for the evening. The connection of Dr. Mallard to the killing has fans intrigued. The Navy man had Mallard’s mother’s old address and he was actually seen at the residence …show more content…
What was surprising was who really was planting information on the captain and why. The son-in-law of the victim actually was using his name and information to move information for cash. An easy way to stay out of the shadow, somewhere along the way the captain realized what was happening and took matters into his own hands. As Dr. Mallard continues to search out all the details, he reflects on all the decisions of the past. One in particular, telling a suitor to leave his mother after finding he was a con-artist has haunted him for decades. Thinking the man was her soulmate, Ducky’s mom was single for years after coming to America. What he learned from reading her diary (and the fans learned too) was that she did find love again and lived a happy, healthy life after moving to America. While Agent Gibbs is looking for a killer, he’s still trying to get Senior FBI Agent T.C. Fornell out of his home. Recovering from being shot, Fornell’s daughter puts a plan in action to make Fornell move from Gibbs’ home and return to her house for the holiday. Introducing termites to Gibbs’ home, everyone has to leave for the holidays as the house needs to be exterminated. Leaving Fornell no choice but to go home, he gets a surprise at the end of the episode too as Gibbs has to move in with him until all the bugs are
The main character, Philip Malloy, the fourteen-year-old protagonist is a talented runner and an average student who tends to says things that are irrelevant (especially when he’s in school). He releases his frustrations in homeroom and English class through small acts against his teacher, Mrs. Narwin. My opinion of Phillip Malloy is that he is a lazy jerk who, throughout the story, lies and lies, developing into a liar—but the lies eventually comes back to bite him. The reason I call him a jerk is because he shows great disrespect toward his English teacher, Ms. Narwin, purposely even though she has nothing against him. I say Phillip is lazy because he doesn’t want to do the extra work to raise his grade so he can make the track team—he decides
The movie does not provide enough evidence to be one hundred percent sure about where her mom is, it is certain that she is not physically with Hushpuppy. Not being physically together does not mean they cannot have a relationship. In the article written by Frank Zenere “How Children Cope With Trauma and Ongoing Threat: The Basics Ph Model Information for Parents and Teachers” he states that “Children frequently turn their creativity as means of coping with trauma.” Not having a mother figure is a trauma Hushpuppy has to deal with, and it is obviously not easy to overcome. Every person on the phase of the earth knows how important a mother is for each individual. There are, of course, people who have not had the privilege to have met one in their entire lives. Hushpuppy deals with this trauma by pretending her mom is still with her, she imagines dialogues and also has a sculpture which she pretends is her mother. In the script of this film, there is evidence saying that “Marietta, Hushpuppy 's imaginary, invisible mamma, is speaking from the basketball jersey chair. Marietta functions like an imaginary friend- Hushpuppy is the only one who can see her.”
Analysis of Hemingway’s Narrative Technique as a Short- Story Writer. For many years, the narrative technique of Hemingway has been under debate. Writers before him had already achieved works that bear the characteristics of the modern short story, and many of their works could stand today, with those of Hemingway and of writers like Faulkner, as representative short stories of modern times. What distinguishes Hemingway both from his predecessors and from his contemporaries, however, is the theory he produces to deal with the challenge of spatial limitation which every short story writer has to face: how can he say more than his space actually allows him to say?
Mrs. Mallard?s freedom did not last but a few moments. Her reaction to the news of the death of her husband was not the way most people would have reacted. We do not know much about Mr. And Mrs. Mallards relationship. We gather from the text that her freedom must have been limited in some way for her to be feeling this way. Years ago women were expected to act a certain way and not to deviate from that. Mrs. Mallard could have been very young when she and Brently were married. She may not have had the opportunity to see the world through a liberated woman?s eyes and she thought now was her chance.
In the short story, “The Story of an Hour,” author Kate Chopin presents the character of Mrs. Louis Mallard. She is an unhappy woman trapped in her discontented marriage. Unable to assert herself or extricate herself from the relationship, she endures it. The news of the presumed death of her husband comes as a great relief to her, and for a brief moment she experiences the joys of a liberated life from the repressed relationship with her husband. The relief, however, is short lived. The shock of seeing him alive is too much for her bear and she dies. The meaning of life and death take on opposite meaning for Mrs. Mallard in her marriage because she lacked the courage to stand up for herself.
The murder had occurred three months ago and the case had been turned over to a different detective, Milo Sturgis, due to the lack of progress in solving the case. Milo Sturgis is a personal friend of Dr. Alex Delaware and requested his assistance. Very little was known about Professor Hope Devane and Detective Sturgis asked Dr. Delaware to compile a psychological profile of her.
As The Usual Suspects opens, we find "Verbal" Kint (Kevin Spacey, in an Oscar-winning role) the object of a police interrogation. He is one of only two known survivors of an explosive evening on a docked cargo ship, and the police want answers. Verbal was one of an elite group of known criminals involved in a police lineup in New York five weeks prior, and the rest are presumed to be dead from the previous night's explosion. From this opening interrogation, soon conducted solely by Special Agent Dave Kujan (Chazz Palminteri), we are shown pieces of the puzzle that lead to the events on the cargo ship.
An unidentified corpse arrived in a cargo ship, offering precious clues as to the man’s identity. Enter Chief Medical Examiner, Kay Scarpetta, whose investigation leads her across the Atlantic to Interpol’s headquarters in France. She soon discovers that the dead man came from a very wealthy family and was also involved in a criminal cartel which may be linked to Scarpetta”sintrepid niece, ATF agent, Lucy Farineli. With the help of Pete Marino and the hindrance of someone desperate to ruin her career from inside, Scarpetta must locate and stop the killer before he strikes again on U.S soil.
Kate Chopin's "Story of an Hour" proves to be a timeless short story. Although this story was written in the nineteenth century, it is still reflective and relevant of today's society. It is still popular in many high schools and college classrooms. A critical examination of this piece of literature can be done using character analysis. This is an important tool in analyzing the meanings "between the lines" in this story. Mrs. Mallard is the main character and therefore plays the most important role in the story. This makes it necessary to examine her character in order to gain insights into the story's meaning. Several key elements relating to her personality surface in the story. These elements give insights into her feelings and her thoughts. The character analysis shows Mrs. Mallard is portrayed as insensitive, selfish and a wishful thinker.

In class the Sully case resonated with me because I just saw the move a week earlier. In class we spoke of how captain sully had to deal we the rising amount of tension, and uncertainty that comes from a crashing airplane. Captain sully successfully was able to keep hope alive among the passengers and crew. Ultimately by reading and adjusting his goal and

This is with concrete, conceivable, or even suspected acts of terrorism, sabotage, or assassination of people in the Navy. Sometimes the agencies jurisdiction overlaps with another federal law enforcement agency especially with deal with personal or ex personal everywhere even overseas. There are times where “the agency has to communicate with foreign law enforcement agencies and security services on a daily basis” (“NCIS FAQs” 2016). Also, some offenses that involve people of the navy are in areas where state or even local authorities have the lead on the investigation jurisdiction so the NCIS engages with their partner agencies. This is only when it involves their navy personal. When you look at all the work and investigations there is a head of the agency named Andrew L. Traver. He is also known as NCIS Director, Mr. Traver.
