Currently in the United States of America, our country is dealing with massive security issues on our Southern border with Mexico. Somewhere between eight and twelve million illegal aliens come into the United States each year from Mexico. This has been one of the main focal points of the presidential election here in the United States. On November 8th, 2016 a new president will take office. The candidate that has the toughest and most straightforward reform according to the Republican Party for illegal immigration is businessman Donald J. Trump. Trump has frequently said that “a nation without borders, is not a nation,” “a nation without laws is not a nation,” and finally that “a nation that does not serve its own citizens is not a nation. (donaldjtrump.com, 1) This is where the reform that Trump has planned comes into play. Trump’s first part to his plan includes building a wall along the Southern border of the United States. This 2,000 mile long wall is projected to cost about $10 Billion, which ironically is Donald Trump’s net worth. (youtube.com) This wall would keep illegal immigrants from coming into our country. Not only would building a wall along the Southern border keep the illegals themselves out, however it would also keep problems out of our country. (foxnews.com, 1) The struggle with our immigration problem has not been simply just illegals taking over American jobs, however it has been the drug cartels that bring in their drugs and crime. The plan to make Mexico pay for the wall has even gone as far as to their former Prime Minister, who in a live interview stated that, “I am not going to pay for that (expletive deleted) wall! He should pay for it, he has the money.” (youtube.com) The Democratic party has also shown disapproval for Trump’s wall plan. (cnn.com, 1) Even Pope Francis is against Trump’s wall, declaring that it is not christian-like to build a wall. (foxnews.com, 1) This is where Trump pointed out that the Pope has a rather large wall at the Vatican. All in all, there are many people that like Trump’s idea for border security, however there are just as many if not more doubters that are against his policy that he plans to implement once he takes
