Zinczenko started his article with a little bit of humor, he talked about the lawsuits that parents launch against these industries. Moreover, he mentioned an example that shows that these lawsuits should not be launched from the beginning because it is the consumer’s fault to eat in these restaurants not the company’s. Starting the article with sense of humor was more convincing and it grabs the reader’s attention and appeals to their emotions. Then he moved on to mentioning his own childhood and how MacDonald’s or Taco Bell was his only choice because it was cheap. He also stated that he suffered as a teenager with being overweight. Although in his second paragraph he mentioned that these teenagers’ parents work for long hours, he did not consider that they could stop giving their children money to buy fast food. For example, they may start buying an easy, healthy option that can pre-prepared in a short time. Zinczenko’s assumption in the example he gave that fast food restaurants are available while healthy food is not available, is not true. Supermarkets and grocery shops that sell healthy food are found in each everywhere in all countries. He may be right that they should be blamed but it is logically the parent’s fault not being able to take a good care of their children’s health. He may be right with some points that he mentioned such as the lack of warning labels on the fast food, but blaming fast food industries will not actually change anything. On the other hand, blaming the parents would majorly affect the children and their choice about what they eat. The essay was full of significant details and bit of evidence. The thesis statement is the same as what he has mentioned before. The writer used repetitive language. He mentioned some points more than once. Zinczenko wrote his article objectively and the examples were well supportive. He argued a very good point and he used a lot of very good information. Thus far, it was not very convincing, I still think that the blame is on the eater.

In the FDA recorders people that are obese usually have type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, asthma, heartburn and other digestive and mental health problems. “Don’t Blame the Eater” is an article by David Zinczenko that explains to Americans, specifically overweight young Americans, about the risks eating at fast food restaurants and its cause of affecting one’s health. In his article, he tries to address the issue about America’s food industries by using literal devices such as tone, logos, ethos, diction, and organization in order to spread his message. He begins his article by addressing the topic and as he continues writing, he supports his topic by writing about personal experience and moves onto the reasons why his topic in a serious issue. Although he shows an overall clear progress, he does tend to have a few problems with his writing that could be improved.
In this article “Fast Food and Personal Responsibility” (2003) which was written by Ninos P. Malek, Malek tries to argue and show people that it’s not entirely the fast food industries’ fault that people are obese or sick . He argues using 3 different supporting examples; first he says that, “High school students blaming their poor diets on school cafeteria” (Malek, 2003, p.309). Most student tend do that, but actually most cafeterias sell healthy and unhealthy food but people always need something to blame and never hold themselves the responsibility for their own action, secondly he says that no one is putting people under gun point to make them buy fast food (2003, p.309). That’s actually true but still he forgot to mention the fact that they are trying to brain wash people into buying their food through their erroneous advertisements. Third and last Malek tries to compare smoking to fast food, because back then tobacco companies were sued too for almost the same reason which is about health. Malek’s argument was precise because people need to learn to take responsibility for their own actions and should know that when they buy fast food they are weighing their own costs and benefits. But he didn’t show the immoral and unethical things the fast food industries were doing by using erroneous advertisements. The fast food industries shouldn’t be held accountable for this because everyone has a freedom of choice and they can choose whether to eat it or no.
Remember how happy you were when your parents bought you a happy meal as a child. It came in that cool little red box with some fries and chicken nuggets. Oh, and best of all it always came with a toy; your parents would tell you not to open it until you finished your food but that never happened. Or the time you forgot money at home but still managed to scrap up a dollar and sixteen cents from your car for an iced sweet tea. Fast food always comes in the clutch, but what is really behind the happy meals and sweet teas. We all know fast food is not good for you, but who’s to blame. Is it fair that we blame fast-food chains or are we just to afraid to blame ourselves?
Is fast food to blame for the growing obesity in America? Obesity affects more than half of the population. With so many Americans gaining weight and so many health problems the matter has to be addressed. There is no one would argue that obesity, especially the children is considered a problem. In any case the cause of childhood obesity is fought about daily. Many people will say that fast food restaurants are to blame. In my research, I will explain the argument that who is to blame for the obesity in America: fast food restaurants or common laziness from the obese society.
Today, many people eat fast food instead of home made food. The reason is that fast food is fast, cheap and convenient. However, at the same time, fast food is contributing to a big social problem in the U.S., which is obesity, and recently some people are beginning to sue the fast food companies for causing their obesity. Should the fast food companies have responsibility for American's obesity? My answer for this argument is "No". I think that whether people eat fast food or not is an individual choice. There are many people who eat fast food, but aren't obese. They may do some exercises for burning calories, or try not to eat fast food as much as they can, caring for their health. Moreover, some fast food companies serve relatively healthy foods, such as Baja Fresh, Subway and so on. Even though people don't have enough money or time to eat except for fast food, they can choose those fast food shops. Therefore, the responsibility of obesity should be taken by obese people, though fast food companies should also take actions to decrease the number of these people by showing their food's calories, serving healthy food, and giving more choices.
Finally, besides of making healthy decisions, another key issue to examine is the lack of parental guidance in terms of Zinczenko’s argument that, especially for teenagers, unhealthy and fattening food is almost un-avoidable. It’s not all kids fault to eat junk food their parents are equally responsible for this problem as much as kids because can teach their kids from early age to not eat junk food. Most of our parents taught us that smoking and drinking is bad for us but never taught is that sugar is also bad as drinking and
