For hundreds of years, professionals and individuals have pondered upon the subjects of Heaven and Hell. Some believe these two locations do not exist, while others choose to believe that one can travel to Heaven and Hell physically or spiritually. However, if one chooses to accept the truth value in the existence of Heaven and Hell, he may contemplate upon their attributes. When attempting to discover certain characteristics one may turn to the Bible in order to find answers and in this way his answers must surely be accurate. John 3:13 states, “No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.” (ESV) If one translated the Greek word “ascend” his translation would come to “go up (literally or figuratively).” This translation suggests that Heaven would be a spiritual place since one would have to “go up” to it the exploration of the universe proves heaven is not located in the sky. Nonetheless, others may argue that Heaven is a physical place because of certain verses in the Bible implying the emergence of Heaven on Earth. Despite these references Revelation 21:1, …show more content…
Mark 9:43 achieves this feat by stating, “And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire.” (ESV) In this verse alone Hell is described as containing an insatiable fire and previous to this chapter in Matthew 10:28 it is said that God can “destroy both soul and body in hell.” Later on in Matthew 11:23 Hell’s location is mentioned when Jesus states that a city “will be brought down to Hades.” (ESV) All three of these verses bring a negative connotation to Hell, but they also reveal that Hell is a spiritual place similar to Heaven. The reason for this is because of the fact that Hell cannot be located at the center of the Earth chiefly because the quenchless fires would consume this
Hell is what he is referring to when the author says firey pit. He describes hell as the lowest,
As Bloomfield stated, it is only how we interpret the words in an allegory that matters, each person can interpreted it in a slightly different way and allegories are most often personalized by a reader. Dante’s Inferno allegory is present throughout the entire poem. From the dark wood to the depths of Dante’s hell he presents the different crimes committed in life as they could be punished in death. One of the first punishments we observe comes from the fifth circle of Dante’s hell, the wrathful and the sullen, as the author expresses his thoughts of the fitting consequence with each sin.
Fire and brimstone, flames engulfing people, and the endless cries from the souls that are suffering are all things that are commonly associated with hell. It’s not thought of as some place of just punishment, but filled with pain and torment. The question raised is whether or not it is actually full of fire and heat, or is it something different. When we read about hell in Dante’s Inferno, he describes the place not only full of fire, but also of ice, wind, and rain. All of the elements sit on different levels that have been thoughtfully laid out by Dante himself. Carol Forman speaks of how Dante set up his hell, “Hell is structured around Dante’s concept of sin.

...cape her judgment nor argument with her edicts will sway her. Hell is an absolute, and all the more forbidding because of it. Though the violence depicted in these myths varies, the overall story remains unchanged. Disobeying the laws and strictures set forth by the government and religious doctrines will exact a hefty price, perhaps eternally.
pits, different cells in hell and there is a heart of hell. As Mary and JESUS went through hell their were people there who are begging god to let them in heaven and god says no because judgement has been set. He said there has been many people their way to introduce them to god and they refused. Souls are in hell begging for repentance and the answer is no because they had their chance and they turned their backs on god. Some souls even were at one time of another saved and they were going through something to make them stronger in the word and they though god was being unfair to them and blamed god for the mistake; therefore turning their backs on god. There are many false prophets in hell. As god walks through and stop to talk to these prophets they beg and pled for forgiveness and when god says judgement has been set they began to curse god and talk to him in the manner where they are really disrespecting god.
This evil is evident in the right wing of The Garden of Earthy Delights, which can be used to portray scenes from almost all of Dante's circles of Hell. Fire is seen in much of the painting, which can be symbolic of death. Fire is one of the only elements man can create so fire can also be seen as a symbol of mortality. Virgil said, "I come to lead you to the other shore, into eternal darkness, ice, and fire." (Canto III: line 87) This quote shows the connection of fire and Hell. Fire can also be representative of the Holy Spirit and this relates to Dante who ties religion into the Inferno. Fire is the background of much of the top of the painting. Virgil said, "Eternal fire burns within, giving off the reddish glow you see diffused throughout this lower Hell." (VII: 73-75)
In Dante’s Inferno, hell is divided into nine “circles” of hell; the higher the number, the more likely the sin and the pain you will endure. However, I do not completely agree with Dante’s version of hell, perhaps due to the difference in time periods. In this essay, I will be pointing out my concerns with Dante’s description of hell and how I would recreate hell if I were Dante. The first level of hell in the Inferno is for those unbaptized yet virtuous. Although some did not have a sinful life, if they did not accept Christ, they were sent to Limbo.
Yes. According to the agreement signed by Jennifer Lawson, upon being hired, she agreed to not disclose any information she learned from her former employer Greene, with the process used to create the Ever-Gold.
The first of the two divisions of Hell is Upper Hell. Upper Hell is the area habitated by those committing sins of incontinence or lack of self-restraint. This lack of self-restraint could be in the form of anything from sex to mood. Before delving into the sins of incontinence, one must first look into the first inconsistency of the Inferno. This inconsistency is found in the Vestibule of Hell. The Vestibule of Hell contains the trimmers and the neutrals. Although almost all other sins mentioned in the Inferno are of an ethical, universal standpoint, the ones mentioned here are sins only from the Christian point of view. These neutrals are the people who either showed no partisanship or did not take sides. Lines 37-39 and 46-50 read:
Christians ultimately believe in two places to go after death, Heaven where eternity is spent in a state that is beautiful beyond our ability to conceive, or Hell, where eternity is spent with Satan and his demons. All are tormented and tortured, in isolation from God, without any hope of mercy or relief (Robinson).
8Lewis & James “The astrology book” authors define the heaven that Christians refers to as being different from the one we know by saying that Heaven in Enneagram is a symbol of freedom after the liberation of the false self to true self
Hell will exist forever as place to hold Satan. The demons and those who choose him rather than Christ. But Heaven is the throne of God's glory and the reward for the righteous. We will receive our resurrection body and all pain of any kind will be gone for those in Heaven.
While subsequent passages that deal with the geography of hell, notably the description of the mount that is stripped of it’s gold to build Pandemonium (I.669-674) and the lands encountered by the devils who spread out to explore following Satan’s departure (II.570-626), include some, and in the case of the latter ample physiographic detail, the closest we come to a an explanation of the relationship between the various regions of hell is that there are four rivers that run through them (II.57...
According to Matthew Miller, Heaven is more of spiritual place rather than a physical one, but the nevertheless as real as the person standing next to you. Heaven is place where there is no stress, death, pain, suffering of any kind, and no worries so Hakuna Matata to you. Heaven is more of a place where there is fulfillment of the heart. Every desire and wish that your heart wants, it shall receive. Hell is a literal place of tormenting, and punishment. Nothing good ever comes from hell or Satan himself. Everyone who doesn’t submit their eternal soul to God will go to hell. He is basically saying that hell is more a literal place and heaven is more spiritual.
