Dodgeball is a game in which players on two teams try to throw balls at each other while avoiding being hit themselves.In “Position on Dodgeball in Physical Education” by NASPE, they believe that it does not provide enough physical activity and provides limited opportunities for everyone in the class. “The Weak Shall Inherit the Gym” by Rick Reilly, he believes if you don’t have things challenging like dodgeball than kids will grow up weak and it prepares you for the realities of life. In both articles, they are trying to convince their audiences about their opinions for dodgeball. Dodgeball is a game of many facets. On one hand, it is a game that encourages everyone to stand up for themselves since everyone is on their own team, while on the other hand, it is a game where you aggressively pummel others with balls and pick on the weak. As a result of the varying possible viewpoints of opinion, some schools ban it, and others do not. The logic of some schools is that it labels others as human targets. On the contrary, it can encourage people to figure out who is weak and strong and how they could deal with these personalities. Although a solid case could be made for each side, dodgeball should not be banned in physical education classes due to the benefit of being able to let out aggression and the need to learn the ways of healthy competition.
Based on the article, The Weak Shall Inherit the Gym, dodgeball should stay in schools. Dodgeball is a sport in which people would throw a ball at another person. If the ball hits the other person then they are considered out. This sport allows people to unleash their anger out at someone without actually physically hurting them. Dodgeball allows the kids to experience the experiences the kids may have in the outside world as well as giving them confidence to face their challenges.
Finally, it’s all fun and games. The kids don’t mean to hurt each other and if they did, it doesn’t hurt that much. Plus I personally looked forward to playing dodgeball in middle school because it looked like such a fun game that tested you reflexes and agility. Even though there are other games similar to dodgeball none of them have the same feeling as the original game. On top of that, if they think dodgeball is inappropriate don’t ban a whole group of games such as tag and gymnastics, just ban dodgeball.

The fun of correlating physical activity and movement with all ranges of classes is one of the reasons why interdisciplinary teaching is one of the successful forms of teaching. What is interdisciplinary teaching? Interdisciplinary teaching is a style of teaching that integrates two or more subjects into a lesson plan. For instance, correlating math within science, language arts within physical education, history within music, no matter what subjects correlate with other subjects of a students curriculum, this puzzle piece teaching method goal is to enhance the learning experience, ability, and knowledge in each study areas (Cone). According to the authors of Interdisciplinary Elementary Physical Education, you cannot just relate a subject with another subject without planning it out, one needs to find a central theme, issue, problem, process, topic or experience to connect two or more subjects together (Jacobs, 1989).
The goal of this paper is to inform others of my reasoning why physical educators are important and why it is my dream to become one. There are three main points I would like to discuss: the value of physical education ,being a role model ,and why it is my dream to become one.

Sports psychology is the study of how psychology influences sports, athletic performance, exercise and physical activity. Some sports psychologists work with professional athletes and coaches to improve performance and increase motivation. Other professionals use exercise and sports to enhance people’s lives and well-being. While finding ways to help athletes is certainly an important part of sports psychology, the application of exercise and physical activity for improving the lives of non-athletes is also a major focus.
Physical education in the elementary school system is an essential curriculum for the development of all children. Early physical education classes provide children with a process for progression from the random play stage to the organized game and eventually structured learning. Throughout this process, children learn the value of group dynamics.
This research task requires that, through participation in skill learning and game play during the volleyball unit we have been required to observe and analyse the characteristics of skilled performers; receive feedback on weaknesses in technique and develop and participate in training activities that could correct these weaknesses.
I have grown in Physical Education in the way that I have learned to do a lot of things. For example I have learned all about keeping pace and that has helped me run a lot longer and that is usually how I beat people because people get tired to easy. This has helped me a lot in that I can do more things and that can impact me in a positive way, health is a very important thing and by doing the things I do in p.e. I can improve my health conditions and my mental health and that is very important for anyone to have this. Next year I want to do improve in many things and I also want to improve in how fast I can run the mile because I feel like I run slow and I want to improve on that.
