Camron and Kristine Cameron and Kristine are a successful couple who somewhat lets society bother their relationship. They go from being a happy couple to individually having to fight society or almost becoming casualties. Some theories that explain their plea would be entropy, systematic desensitization and precognitive. Entropy Entropy is the “natural tendency of a system to progress toward disorganization, depletion and, in essence, death.” After the incident with the police officers, Cameron was slowly breaking down, until towards the end of the movie, Cameron was about to let himself get killed. If it were not for Officer Tommy, who told the officers that he knew Cameron, he would have died. Systematic Desensitization Systematic Desensitization is “gradually expose[ing] [a] person to [the] thing he/she fears; taught incompatible response.” A triumphant scene that portrays this during the movie is when gradually Christine learns to trust the police …show more content…
Dependent Dependency is “submissive and clinging behavior related to an excessive need to be taken care of” Officer Ryan 's father is completely dependent on him for all of his needs, including getting up from a toilet. Due to Officer Ryan’s fathers’ illness, he is confined to being feeble. In a nutshell, each of the theories were exhibited through the dissimilar subplots of the storylines. The byzantine scenarios in the movie contained distinct concepts, that extended from Dissonance in the Persian Shop Owner and his family, through Output with the District Attorney and his wife Jean, and ultimately to Entropy with Cameron and Kristine. Hopefully this paper allowed you to see how the individual models played a part in the movie characters’

This made Meredith mad because she believed to contribute to the relationship and Amy did not reciprocate. Meredith then stopped trying to make Amy like her because she did not receive a reward of friendship when she tried and considered trying to get along as a loss. The conflict theory goes along with how the Stone family saw Meredith as thinking she was superior to them and did not share interests or values with the family. This lead the family to not like her and caused conflict between Meredith and the Stone family. The symbolic internationalist theory pertains to how Ben came to like Meredith through experience with her and getting to know her. Comedy films are often a tough sell in Hollywood. The humor that is popular here, The United States, usually does not translate well overseas. Many of the movies rely on sarcasm and overused jokes, which could translate differently overseas, and could even offend different cultures. So when a comedy movie goes big worldwide, it deserves all the attention it receives. The movie Airplane! Is a great example of a film that is well liked worldwide.
“You ruin your life by desensitizing yourself” (Sparacino, n.d.). This quote by Bianca Sparacino (n.d.) points out the gravity of the impact desensitization can have on someone. When the word “desensitization” comes up, people tend to think of an emotionally insensitive or callous human. Although this is true, desensitization involves much more than most realize. Whatever leads someone to the point of desensitization takes hold of their emotions, actions, and mind. The term “desensitization” can be defined as overstimulation to the point of indifference, a lack of empathy, and a conditioned response.
...re tested are that codependency exists independently of chemical dependency and that codependent people tend to be more depressed that non-codependent. The purpose of the study was to explore systematically the nature of codependency by conceptualizing it as a disorder that exists independently of chemical dependency. The participants were 115 undergraduate students from St. Louis University that were enrolled in a psychology class. All of the participants completed the Beck Depression Inventory, the Codependency Inventory and the Significant Others’ Drug Use Survey. Results show that a significant correlation between depression and having a significant other likely to be chemically dependent was observed. This study helps to show of the symptoms that those with codependency experience. The study does not have a lot of relevance towards the current study.

Justin, a boy who was raised in a dog cage until the age of five, suffered similar neglect as those mentioned earlier. Justin was kept in a dog cage and rarely interacted with his caregiver, who lacked the attachment bond needed for later development; his only attachment came from dogs (). In regards to the four factors that help strengthen the attachment between a child and caregiver, contemporary factors played a role in this situation. Contemporary factors are influenced by the abilities of an adult needed to provide a strong and stable attachment (). Justin was left in the care of his grandmother, but when his grandmother passed away, he was left in the care of Arthur, the grandmother’s boyfriend Arthur. Arthur was an elderly man who never had children and was limited on how to raise a child. Other contemporary factors such as the confidence and self-control needing to raise a child carry over into the child’s attachment development (). Within Connor’s case, he suffered neglect from birth to 18 months (). Connor had been neglected throughout all stages of development, which in result limited his ability to form a secure attachment and be able to rely on others for support and comfort. Connor was left alone throughout the day, creating an inconsistent and unstable perspective on how
The film, Of Two Minds, is based on real life accounts of individuals living with bipolar disorder. Before watching this film, I had an idea of what bipolar disorder is , but after viewing this film I was completely mistaken. Previously, I thought being bipolar was going from a “normal” mood to an angry or sad mood in a matter of seconds and could be simply fixed by taking medicine. But my previous thoughts were completely wrong and bipolar disorder is very serious and complicated. I didn’t know the severity of this disease and I think a lot of the general public is uneducated about bipolar disorder as well as mental illness. Terri Cheney describes having bipolar disorder as, “Take the best day you ever had and multiply it by a million, it 's like a flu but one hundred times worse. It 's having flu in your mind."

Are we human if we don’t have a choice to choose between acting good or acting evil? A Clockwork Orange directed by Stanley Kubrick is a brutal film that entails many sociological meanings. Alex DeLarge and his “droogs” (gang) live in a derange society of “ultra-violence” and rape. Alex and his gang cause havoc around the town that leads to the “droogs” turning on Alex during a mischievous act on an innocent women and Alex getting arrested. While in prison he is chosen for “treatment” that is suppose to purify Alex and turn him into the “perfect citizen”. We’ve gone over many sociological concepts in class, but the three that I believe apply the most to this film are socialization, deviance, and resocialization.
Why is entropy often described as the “quantitative measure of disorder” (Michaelides)? Is it really disorder? Or is it simply the way nature is intended to work? The explanation, according to most common folk remains that entropy is the measure of how much disorder exists in a specific system. This however, is not actually factual. People often equate entropy with murphy’s law. Believing that everything that can go wrong, will go wrong and that order will always become disorder over time (“Entropy: The Ultimate”). In the case of true entropy, what actually occurs is the following. In closed system, entropy will always tend to be maximized. To reverse the natural process of entropy, energy must be added to the system (“Entropy Is Not”). This
