Disney Princess on Ice Dare to Dream The performance I went to see was a Disney Princess on Ice Dare to Dream on Thursday, November 17, 2016. There was about seven pieces in this show, which were a little skit at the beginning of the show, the introduction to the show, Princess and the frog, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Tangled, and the closing performance. At the beginning/ in between each performance, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy came out to introduce each of the performances, while the other people set up the stage with props and backgrounds for the different princesses. In the opening skit there was a lot of space being used when the performers were skating and throwing the small frisbee thing around to entertain …show more content…
For example, in Snow White there was low levels when she was running from the huntsman in the forest and falls as she’s running through the trees. Also, when the old witch poisons her with the apple and she falls into dark sleep, which she can only be awakened from with a “true love's kiss”. The choreographer uses medium levels throughout each of the performances and high levels when each of the Prince’s are dancing with the Princesses and he lifts her up and spins her around in the air. Also in the piece ‘Tangled’ high levels are used when Rapunzel is dancing with Flin and they lift each other up with her hair sort of like in a trapeze show. All the pieces had energy which made each of them very magnificent in their own way. Each of the pieces had a different speed and tempo at different scenes of the performance. For example, when Cinderella comes down all dressed up for the ball in her step sister's clothes and necklaces that they had taken out the tempo is much faster to make that scene more dramatic as they rip the dress and necklace off of her. The tempo slows down when Cinderella is dancing with the prince at the ball to make the scene more graceful and …show more content…
In the first performance, Princess and The Frog which was a short but difficult piece due to the fast tempo of the music and required the dancers to have faster moves and complicated stunts. Yet a very nice performance to start the show. In Snow White it begins very dark with the Queen, Snow White's stepmother, speaking to her mirror, then it moves to a colorful and peaceful scene with Snow White singing and dancing the music and lighting in this piece really brings the whole show together and adds style and drama to it. In Cinderella the different music, lighting and costumes really add to the style and drama of the piece. For example, when Cinderella is at home cleaning and singing in her “maid” costume then when her fairy godmother changes her hair and her dress really changes the character and lets the audience see her character in a different way. In Tangled what really put this piece together was the music, costumes and many props and scenes introduced for this Princess’s tale. When Rapunzel is singing and dancing the music is very peaceful and speaks to the audience as when Rapunzel's “mother” is singing it's much darker and vague and shows the audience that she's the bad witch in this piece. The closing piece just really added to the dynamics of the whole performance when all the Disney Princes and Princesses came out in their ball gowns and suits dancing. This piece used up all the ice ring as all the couples
The choreography kept things interesting and the dances in a musical can make or break the performance. Overall, Cherie and Abby did an amazing job directing each person to have a place among a crowded stage. Last but not least, the costumes! This play was set in the 1890s, meaning it is very important to have correlating costumes so the audience can be aware of what time period they are in.
It is also the piece that had enough of an effect to make the evil man go away, in the film, Fantasia. My strongest reaction to this piece, is the warm and chilled feeling I get hearing it. The idea of developing “chilled” bones from music is amazing. I arrived at this certain place, by truly diving into the song. I really listened to it, and could hear the seriousness in the singer’s voice. I could hear and understand the passion that the musicians felt when they pressed the piano’s keyboards. The singing, along with the instruments complimenting, is astonishing. I caught myself listening to this piece during the interview, and I could imagine even an evil monster falling in love with this tune enough to turn good. I felt the drama and power in the singing, and the seriousness in the playing of the
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella is a must see movie for everyone. It’s one of the best and first multi- ethnics cast modernizes classic fairytale of Cinderella. The old classic version only present with one ethnic group. However, this one is more diverse due to the variety of ethnicity, making the movie unique. It convey different plot that enhance and portray each character’ personality into musical movie with humor and ironic. The movie has the finest actors, vibrant set, richly hued costumes and several entertaining musical sequence.
The music and sound effects are in the same pont with what the author nedded to say in that play. In the smok and sword fight on the first act we thought will be a play where every body is confusing and fight each other. The phone ringing all the time and this help the actors to play around in the hury and action come up with rehearsal process. The purposes of the phone is any time we heart that something is going to happen, so we expectin to change the sequence in the play. Ringing the phone open a problem, hanging up the phone close the problem. Opening and shoutting the door of dressing room as a slamming it create for the audience understanding the flow of the show and leaves the flexibility as we see white and black to the performance. Crying with tears make the player dramatic, but afraid of discover which it trying to keep things together laughting and
Most big ideas or changes in “The Princess and the Frog” occur within a song. For example, when Tiana sings “Almost There,” viewers are introduced to her lifelong dream of owning a restaurant. Extravagant instrumentation and artist Anika Noni Rose’s powerful voice creates a beautiful text painting. The music reflects Tiana’s determination to overcome the odds and live out her father’s ambitions. Seeing Tiana’s goal come to life through the song moves along the plot.
...tly, the costumes in this production of Wicked were incredible! There were so many beautiful costumes! Many were very elaborate and detailed, while there were also various simple and elegant costumes. This was extremely refreshing to see as an audience member. The costumes always matched the characters’ emotions, which made the plot go along much smoother. I noticed that in numerous scenes the costumes were the same color as the lighting in the scene. I think the director did this on purpose to emphasize certain moods, but in some cases, a variety of colors would have worked better.
Disney has done a great job interpreting these pieces of music. One example is the Chinese dance: they have created a flawless masterpiece in the mushroom animated Chinese dance. All the animations are doing something joyful whether it’s dancing, or making the flowers bloom, all the actions of the characters are sending out a vibrant spirit. Animations are vital to creating a mood/setting to the music. Another great thing Disney has done to create a good vibe in the animations is the characters they used like: fish, or flowers, all these animals emit a pleasant vibe as well as the up-beat music. The dances in the song are a mix of elegant dances and up-beat dances that blend together perfectly
The element that stood out the most to me was how effectively the music and the footwork corresponded. The best examples of this are seen through the dancers solos. Especially Albrecht's solo, his feet glide on the stage at the same tempo as the music. Similarly, Giselle's graceful footwork is truly amazing. I really like the similarities between the choreographed footwork and the music, it makes Giselle seem much more elegant and beautiful. This also seems to make the work look more put together and in sync because the dancers are dancing in harmony with the orchestra. The choreography by itself is amazing. The footwork is rapid and intricate, however, at the same time it is delicate and graceful. The ballerina (Giselle) made it look very easy to do the choreography, when it rea...
Every face had excellent expressions, presenting their characters perfectly. Also, each actor added their own twist on the characters, anywhere from a slight accent to body language, adding more depth to the entire musical. Furthermore, every actor changed their voice in a way that depicted their character’s emotions and attitude at that particular moment. Also, the color of the lights changes according to each scene and the mood for that particular scene.
Throughout the play, the time of the dancers fluctuated. There were times of excitement when the dancers expressed feelings of joy and therefore they had a fast speed but there are other times when the dancers were confused and uncertain and as a result, their speed were much slower and calmer. Additionally, they used the principle of shape to create illusions to entice the crowd. Some parts of the play instructed the dancers to form inanimate objects using their bodies.
The final and twelfth piece was made up of excerpts from a longer work called Five Short Pieces for Clarinet and Bassoon. To me, maybe because the concert was beginning to get long or maybe because I did not have many notes over it, the last piece seems fairly similar throughout its movements, or “Short Pieces.” The first was an up-beat piece with a distinct melody. The clarinet and bassoon alternated, with the clarinet playing the higher notes. The second movement had a have complete feel to it. The two instruments played at the same time, close to it. The third movement was an impressive sounding mix of ups and downs. It seemed that the performers were working very hard and it sounded very complex.
Each piece was unique choreographed to commemorate different eras. All tied into the major theme in observation of the occasion to hone Mrs. Miller. The inaugurate piece Strict Love caught me by surprise. Before the performance music is played in the background.
Cinderella was a great show and an amazing musical. It was impressive overall. The performances were incredible. The cast and crew did phenomenon. Let’s start with the beginning of the show, the “Once upon a time” painting looked wonderful. The details of it made the set blend in well. Cinderella has multiple casts who played the same role which is never done before. This might cause a little confusing for the audiences but it was helpful that the show has a performance chart with the role and the casts.
Disney has been an inspiration to kids since October 16, 1923. With the start of Mickey Mouse cartoons, Disney has created an empire of imagination. Ever since Snow White, Disney’s first princess in 1937, came on the screen, young females have been amazed by the vision of the “Disney Princess”. As the years went by, dozens of princesses have hit movie screens and Disney has made billions off of the profits from these individuals. In reality, Disney has influenced the immature views of what to expect of beauty from a woman.
