Eating vegetables three or more times a day can provide health benefits. Research has shown that, individuals who eat less than three servings of vegetables each day, compared to those that eat more than five servings have a relatively twenty percent lower risk of developing coronary heart disease or stroke. Vegetables provide nutrients that are fundamental for the health and upkeep of our bodies. These days, most vegetables are grown all over the world as climate permits. Vegetables can be eaten either raw or cooked and play an important role in human nutrition, being mostly low in fat and carbohydrates, but high in vitamins, minerals and fiber.
