During the 1800’s, slavery was still legal in the South. African Americans were enslaved and worked on plantations for long hours without getting paid. Families could be separated any minute. But, there were two people who made a difference: Harriet Tubman and Abraham Lincoln. Even though they are completely different, they also had the same accomplishments. Both Tubman and Lincoln obviously had some differences. First of all is their race. Harriet Tubman was African American and was born into slavery. Lincoln was white and was a free citizen. Tubman wasn’t educated meaning she couldn’t read or write at all, while Lincoln taught himself how to read and write.
