A person’s personality can define how one thinks, behaves, communicates or even handles everyday life. Isabel Briggs Myers and Carl Jung, have compiled a dichotomy based on sixteen different personality types. We all have something different to bring to the table. One thing that makes each one of us unique is our personality. Based on a study done by Carl Jung, people can be categorized by their preference of general attitude, functions of perception and functions of judging (www.humanmetrics.com). Out of the three categories there is one dichotomy that is more dominant. According to Isabel Briggs Myers, the fourth dichotomy is based on what influences your personality traits. I often find it very hard to make new friends outside of the people that I have known since I was in middle school. I have had the same friends for over ten years and have not let a lot of people in my life since then. Whenever I meet new people I am most likely not the one to initiate or carry the conversation. My best friend is an extrovert and extremely outgoing. We are two totally different people but we get along very well.
The purpose of this analysis is to identify my personality type, temperament, and how it relates to my behavior and success in the workplace. The first phase of this paper is to identify my four letter personality type using the Jung Typology Test which is based on Carl Jung’s and Isabel Briggs Myers personality type theory (Jung Typology Test, 2016). I will also discuss where I fall within Keirsey’s Temperaments; this personality typing combines two of the four sets of preferences in to four distinct temperament categories (Personalitypage, 2015a). Keirsey identified four basic temperaments known as Guardian, Rational, Artisan, and Idealist (Keirsey, n.d.). I will explain each of the four letters of my type and provide specific examples of how they relate to me in both a professional and personal level. In the final phase I will discuss my personality strengths and weaknesses and how I can use the assessment for overall personal growth.

My personality score was an ENFP, I thought of myself more as an ESTJ. According to the Jungian 16 – Type Personality test, I am an Extrovert, Intuitive, Feeler, and Perceiver. I am also learned that I do in fact have a Type –A personality scoring a 111, meaning that I prefer to work alone rather on teams, and prefer a routine. Interpersonal relationships is an area of my life that I would like to improve upon. My personality tends to be shy, and extroverted with lower than average social skills.
