Hello Class, for my week two discussion, I'm going to talk about Diabetes Insipidus. I’m going to explain what causes Diabetes insipidus, the symptoms associated with it and the treatments.
Diabetes Insipidus is a rare disorder that causes a disparity of water in the body. This disparity leads to intense thirst even after drinking fluids (polydipsia), and excretion of large amounts of urine. In most people, the kidneys pass about 1 to 2 quarts of urine a day. In people with diabetes insipidus, the kidneys can pass 3 to 20 quarts of urine a day. As a result, a person with diabetes insipidus may feel the need to drink large amounts of liquids.
The symptoms of diabetes insipidus are: Excessive thirst, Excessive urine volume. Excessive thirst: that may be intense or uncontrollable, usually with the need to drink large amounts of water or craving for ice water. Excessive urine volume: Excessive urination volume (or polyuria) occurs when you urinate more than normal. Urine volume is considered excessive if it equals more than 2.5 liters per day. A “normal” urine volume depends on your age and gender. However, less than 2 liters per day is usually considered normal. Excreting excessive volumes of urine are a common condition, but should not last more than several days. Many people notice the symptom at night. In this case, it is called nocturnal polyuria.

The vasopressin produced by the hypothalamus and stored in the pituitary gland, the vasopressin maintains the level of water in the body by controlling the amount of urine your kidneys produce. That’s normal, but in Diabetes Insipidus the vasopressin fails to correctly maintain your body's level of water, and allows too much urine to be produced and passed from your
Thesis: Diabetes type 1 is different from type 2 and if given the wrong treatment it could lead to devastating consequences.
Most people get diabetes when cells in the body are unable to respond to insulin or the production of insulin is impaired leading to poor metabolism of glucose in the bloodstream. The result is high amounts of glucose in the blood which is the cause of major diabetes symptoms such as reduced healing ability, chronic fatigue, excess thirst and urination, blurred vision, and weight loss. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that as of 2015, a third of Americans were living with diabetes or pre-diabetes. Those living with diabetes constituted nine percent of the population.

Eating can kill you !! Yes overeating as well as eating unhealthy foods can kill you! If you are wondering how this can kill you, here’s the answer: Diabetes.. Type 2 diabetes to be more specific. Type 2 diabetes is a disease that makes your body not use insulin properly.
Type one diabetes is something that last within you until your passing. The word diabetes is telling you that your blood glucose levels are high. With that being said, it’s telling you that your pancreas is done with making insulin. The insulin is the material to breaking down the sugars and proteins with the things you eat or drink. A hormone in the insulin helps the glucose give the cells their energy.
Did you now that anyone can get diabetes. No one knows the exact causes of any of the types of diabetes. My goal of this paper is to show you facts on diabetes. If you, family member, or a friend gets it, or can get it you know some facts about it so you are not clueless.
Hope for Reversing Type 2 Diabetes For thousands of people living with Type 2 Diabetes receiving treatment is taunting. Type 2 Diabetes is an incurable disease that effects the lives of many people daily. The number of sufferers alone are depressing and the realization that modern day medicine has no cure for the disease isn’t at all hopeful. The message to this overwhelmed faction is reminded repeatedly, you can only maintain your type 2 diabetes.
Imagine a young child playing, waiting for their parent to come home, but when they do, they look upset and nervous. Running towards them, they say, ¨Come, sit, I have something I need to share with you,¨ and they learn that their parent has diabetes, and their whole life is going to change. It could also be the opposite story, trying to tell a child they have diabetes and have to deal with the difficulties of watching what they eat, exercising regularly, and going to the doctor for regular check-ups. The rest of their life they have to act like an adult, even as a child.
