Before entering the water, observe the shoreline for areas of calm water in the surf. These calm areas can indicate an undertow that can pull adults out to sea with great force. If you are caught by an undertow you should swim parallel to the shore until you swim out of the current. Never try to swim straight back to shore because you can tire rapidly and run the risk of drowning. The risk for an undertow is greater when the surf is higher than usual or when a storm is approaching. Never swim alone in case there is an emergency and try to swim where there is a lifeguard on duty to maximize your safety. You should learn CPR in case there is a life-threatening situation that requires quick action to save a drowning victim. Semaphore is a classic Adelaide beach supporting many facilities. However, this would not be the case if coastal management was not put into progress. Coastal management is a way of supporting the world’s coasts, by using many techniques from construction of structures in which prevents wave energy from reaching the shore to planned strategies. Those who do typically like to get the most out of their money and take advantage of all the opportunities on the islands. Surfing is popular lifestyle that society pairs with Hawaii. The near-shore waters that range from deep blue to turquoise are often tempting; however, many vacationers do not understand how dangerous Hawaii’s currents can be. Since Hawaii is located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, the ocean bottom tends to drop off quickly, which causes big and powerful waves. Annually, sixty people drown or are seriously injured by the rip currents of the treacherous waters. Earlier this year, famous singer Britney Spears vacationed on the famous beaches of Hawaii. In a recent interview, so revealed she almost drowned at sea. “I went out and I thought it was like a wave pool, and I thought, ‘This is so nice and refreshing,’ but the thing I didn’t think about is when you come back the waves really come in strong.” Spears got sucked in and kept getting pulled back to sea. She was under for about five minutes before one of her security guards noticed she was struggling and was able to rescue her (Bacardi). A majority of the beaches fly a red warning flag year-round to warn beachgoers of the hazards. If one does find himself trapped in the middle of a current, it’s important to remain calm. Do not try to swim against the tide. Instead, swim parallel to the beach until the current
Earlier up above, I had mentioned a wetsuit and leash to be a few accessories that can be of great use. Depending on what the weather is like, a wetsuit can keep one warm (“Beginners Surfing Equipment”). Thus, I will not obtain hypothermia and freeze to my death. I also made note that the leash can be seen as a safeguard, which is entirely true because it keeps the surfer and board connected to one another incase the surfer falls of the board and renders unconscious. Furthermore, a rash guard will also help to prevent a wound from appearing. Not only does it “act as a protective layer from board rash and abrasion”, but it also shields surfers from destructive UV rays (Belt). It is a two in one deal, considering that I will not have to wear too much sunscreen or worry about acquiring painful rashes. If I want to surf in the long run, then following these precautions would benefit myself very
We eventually make it to the beach and it was beautiful out! The first step onto the sand burns our feet and we all race to the water. The wind floats through our hair and the water splashes on our feet. Everybody sets up their chairs and plops down to just relax and look at the stunning ocean, when it starts raining cats and dogs.
Wartime England was a bad time for a holiday visit to the beaches. Most were heavily mined and cordoned off with barbed wire to prevent invasion forces from landing. However, North Devon was around the corner from the vulnerable English Channel and we were allowed on the vast sands of Westward Ho!

Going to the beach. Of course, going to the beach requires swimwear, sunscreen, and blankets. It won’t be necessary to bring umbrellas or benches since there are ones for rent in the major beaches in the island.
Ever since Sunset Beach has been officially opened to the public, there has been a drastic increase of tourists present. Television programs concluded that at least a thousand people visit the beach everyday. Reasons for their stay are that they feel comfortable with the environment that surrounds the beach front, people who are at the beach are joyous and numerous activities to enjoy, and the fresh scent of the sparkly waters, make the visitors feel calm and pleasurable. So I decided to take a trip there.
I use any excuse to walk along the ocean, especially alone and without my phone. The wind blew cold air, but the sun’s warm rays kept my body at a perfect temperature. It was three in the afternoon and I was calm.
