My Dream House As I approach the island on which my dream house awaits, I catch a quick glimpse of it. It is huge, and is the most noticeable building in the area. My private plane lands on the air strip next to the house. I get out of the plane and start my journey through a heavily wooded path leading to my dream house. I walk with anxiety toward the house at which I will spend the rest of my life. All around me lie the most beautiful trees and plants you have ever seen. It is peaceful but you can hear the sounds of birds chirping and small forest creatures frolicking in the under brush. As I continue to walk along the path the end starts to appear. I now see my house for the first time up close. Nothing could have prepared me for the moment I was about to experience. My house that I designed is all I imagined and more. It is a four story dream on a huge fifteen acre lot. As I approach the stairs at the entrance to the house I am surrounded by four columns leading to the most elegant doors I have ever seen. They are made of mahogany and have a stained glass window in the center. The handles and the frame is made of brass. As I continue around the house I come across three windows overlooking the entrance to the house. There are black shutters on each window. As the porch continues to the south side of the house I am now looking over the Pacific Ocean. A huge eight foot picture is facing the same way I am. As I look down and observe the ocean I see two piers jutting out into the Pacific. On either side of the piers are huge boulders protecting the coast line from erosion. The house's walls are made of stucco and it has an old fashion shingles that are a clay color. As I walk into the back yard I am surrounded by the best things a man could ever want. Well not quite everything! But a lot of things. I walk toward the road and I first come across a basketball court. To the left of the basket ball court is a tennis court. There is a bar in between the two to take a break at between games.

Sarah Ly is a PhD candidate at the University of Pennsylvania where she studied biomedical sciences and neurobiology and at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory where part of her work involved genes and genomics. Ly received the National Merit Scholarship as well as the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship. In her article, “Ethics of Designer Babies,” author Sarah Ly explains that the concept of in vitro fertilization has become a reality and with that, genetically engineered embryos are evolving, thus many people believe regulations are needed. The article states that many believe it should just be used when the child is at risk of a genetic disease and should not be used to permit parents to decide the fate of their children by picking traits.
This “house” is called El Mirasol. It located at Santa Barbara in California, a city who is breathe-taking beautiful and near the Pacific Ocean. Amazing housing art has been embodied clearly in the ideal of decorating El Mirasol
There were three social classes in Mesopotamia. There was the aristocracy, the working class, and the slaves. The aristocracy was made up of the rich and powerful who owned much land. The working class was made up of high priests, counselors, and generals in the army. The slaves were made up of very poor people who owned houses, gardens, and fishery farms. The Code of Hammurabi included many rules about slaves. The fact that there are so many rules regarding slaves tells us that they like to be in control and have lots of rules in which they use to control people. Having so ma...

Some scientist have said that parents have the right to decide the fate of their child. (Ly 1) According to bioethicist James Hughes, “If you think women have the right to control their bodies, then they should be able to make this choice.” James also believe that the term “designer babies” insults parents. The term insinuates that the parents do not think about the child when making the decision to design the child. (Naff 37) However, parents possess certain control over their child by selecting the environment the child grows up in. This choice helps pardon some ethical concerns associated with selection of traits for designer babies. (Ly 1)

Is it morally acceptable for parents to use genetic and reproductive techniques to create designer babies? A topic that has become controversial in the past few years especially when it comes to a child’s autonomy something that is important to children when it comes to behavior and thinking independently.
Modifying an unborn baby’s genes has been praised by many parents for allowing them to “scheme” their dream child. Taking advantage of these opportunities can include being able to choose gender, hair color and eye color, and other physical appearances. On the plus side, access to the newest technologies can assist with reducing defects and diseases, such as, autism, down syndrome and other genetic illnesses diagnosed before the child is born. It also has a benefit of preventing any heredity linked diseases. Designer babies could lead to several new discoveries, but do parents have the right to bring a child to the world for the sake of
I was walking home from school with my best friend Allie. We live in Sanibel Island, Florida. It’s beautiful there. There are enviously beautiful white sand beaches and the water is the perfect color of turquoise. Scratchy palm trees and smooth seashells are scattered everywhere. It always smells like tropical fruits. And because we walk home along the beach our walk home always has the best sights you will ever see.
Surfing the net every day, I sometimes stumble upon new technology that might be interesting to know a little about. One of them is genetic engineering of babies. From the little knowledge of mine, that genetic engineered babies can be modify to be immune to certain unwanted genetic disease or given certain traits that allows them to be more intelligent or taller. The modification of traits could be good or bad, depending on how the scientist want it to be. It could be good in a way to have the baby to be immune to genetic disease and bad if the scientist modify the baby with superhuman powers to turn them into a monster or a weapon. There are also many ethical issue in the religious problems of creating or modifying a human, “playing God”, that it’s the God’s job to create us and how they want us to be.
In today’s society, the medical field has accomplished many technological advances that has made peoples’ lives more beneficial. Currently, Scientists can only genetically modify an embryo’s gender or eliminate diseases ,but in the future there may be a development to design perfect babies by taking out certain genes. Regulation needs to be applied to limit genetic modification ,because it creates bias leading to racism of who fits the criteria for a perfect individual.Proponents of designer babies in today’s society suggest that new development of genetic enhancement benefits elimination of harmful diseases and gender determination. However, genetic technology can harm the child and deprive christian views of unconditional love and acceptance.Brave

When reminiscing about my childhood a home is hard to recall. It seemed common for others to have a place called home. Moving from house to house was not the problem, but the empty feeling. Home to me was my grandparent’s house. I spent nearly all of my childhood there. My grandparents bought the one story house with two bedrooms in the early seventies. From the spacious bedroom, to the kitchen with endless possibilities and the way I spent my time this house defined my character.
My house is quite large. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, two living rooms, a dining room, a special games room and a big front and back garden.
