The germans were everywhere. No not Germans, Nazi’s. My mission was to smuggle a british pilot out of France and get him back to England In a matter of time, before they found me. I walked along the empty streets feeling i stood out in the darkness. I knew there were not so much Nazi’s out there but I felt like i was in the heart of an army. With Soldiers and people both knowing the consequences to when they find a spy. Silently I tread across the town heading toward the location where i was told the pilot was. The ground could be crawling with Germans who know of the pilot. Here, i thought, these were the location headquarters gave me to locate the pilot. We heard voices, the sound of animals, and then a lady came out. “Are you looking for runaways or spies?” she came out holding a little light shining briefly through the walls. “Yes, have you seen them coming through?” The moment of truth. I closed my eyes and prayed. I think the pilot was to and that's when I was more stressed than any other part of this day. “Yes I saw them run through the fields down there. I had been practicing the secret message for a long time. “Yes, but i’m afraid the green is peeling.” She ran over. She slowly brought us in but took one look at my leg and ran into the house. SHe came back with a medical kit a said, “You better come in dear.” After that mission me and the pilot returned to England.
