My inspiration for this essay comes from my home and family life. Since I was a little girl we’ve had dogs in our home. Our dogs have always been my friends as long as I can remember. Short nosed breeds are my personal favorites, their looks and sounds, health risks and care & training.
Three kinds of dogs that are related are Boxers, Boston terriers, and Bulldogs. The Boxer is a happy, high-spirited, playful, and energetic dog. Also, Intelligent, eager and quick to learn. It is on the move continuously and bonds very closely with the family. Loyal and affectionate, Boxers are known for getting along really well with children. The Boston Terrier is gentle, alert, very smart, well-mannered and enthusiastic. But without the proper amount of mental and physical exercise they can be crazy at times. They are very sensitive to the tone of your voice. Boston's like to learn and therefore are not difficult to train. Although the English Bulldog’s appearance can be somewhat scary, it is a very gentle dog. Just the same it will scare off any intruder. It is a very affectionate and dependable animal, gentle with children, but known for its excellent guarding. Bullheaded and determined, this breed can be very persistent. I have both Boston terriers and Boxers because they are just adorable, very affectionate, and impossible not to love.
Most short nosed dogs are born with a worrisome wrinkled face and a look full of regret something that will stay with them for life. Dogs like Boxers, Boston terriers and Bulldogs with short muzzle syndrome snore because of abnormalities in their noses and airways. When you have a boxer or a boston terrier it sometimes sounds like you have old man sleeping in your living room by the sound of it. Although ...

Socialized dogs are not as likely to develop behavior problems and are therefore more welcomed by others. Obedience training is one of the most important aspects of raising a dog. A well-trained dog is a happier dog because a trained dog needs fewer limitations. The more reliable the dog, the more freedom he is given.
Dogs are great! They have a wonderful habit of spreading their love and affection and thats all dogs ask of you too. Having two dogs is even better since they are pack animals they love to have a companion. I have two boston terrier puppies who are brother and sister and two boxers who are sisters. Seeing them play, eat and sleep together makes you never want just one dog again. Double the trouble twice the fun to have two instead of one!
They are very loyal and protective dogs. They are extremely intelligent and can learn both numerous and various tricks in a short and fast periods of time. Some can be found to be laid back, while others can be more temperamental. These dogs are always looking for something to do and should be put in a home where they can look forward to daily activity, exercise and training. Although these dogs can be mistaken for aggressive and even sometimes dangerous, these dogs will grow to be what they are brought up to be. If you want a loyal, smart, loving companionship these dogs will be there to the
Basset Hounds are known for their sad-looking faces and great sense of smell, which is second only to the bloodhound. Many people also know them for their floppy ears, their short legs, and their sometimes stubborn nature, but here are eight facts you may not know about Basset Hounds.
Are these dogs misunderstood? In reality a dog is a reflection of its human, they see you as a pack leader they are who you raise them to be no matter the breed. If you neglect your puppy by chaining them up outside their whole life or keep them in
He has his own unique smell. It is stale and unwashed, but it is comforting and it is home. He has dog breath, but it is oddly his own. It does not smell of his last meal, or even the poop he tried to eat while we were walking. It
Dogs should be trained to be around people and other pets at an early age. Training a dog to listen and obey is the most important factor (Marketwire). A dog can simply be bored and want to play aggressively. No matter the breed a dog can always be trained not to be violent (“CAUSES OF DOG”). An improperly trained dog can turn out to be mean and aggressive. Also allowing your dog to practice these behaviors will cause them to adapt to them. Exposing a dog to new things will help it become comfortable with them and recognize them. Dogs use their bark as an alarming system (Marketwire). Knowing when and why a dog is aggressive is a key factor for changing this
The dog is a unique beast. Loyal and affectionate, if somewhat bizarrely built, today’s dogs are a far cry from the wild wolves from which they emerged. Whether fluffy, naked, cock-eyed, or bow-legged, each dog is an ample prototype of its kind. The very idea that such a cooperative creature could spring forth from such a ruthless predator is astounding by itself. The fact that the multitude of breeds (340, according to the World Canine Organization (Melina, 2014)) could starburst forth from a single point begs investigation. How, indeed, did it come to be that there are so many different breeds of dog?
Dogs that are forced to fight and are conditioned to defend themselves or die. When these dogs get loose, everything is a threat to them and they defend themselves in the name of survival. If golden retrievers were bred and raised with the sole purpose of fighting to the death, they would be just as dangerous as pit bulls. On the contrary, if all pit bulls were bred and treated as family dogs, they would have the same reputation as golden retrievers, if not better, as the statistics found in the temperament test above show.
Word count includes Annotated Bibliography. Throughout the world, there are many different countries that contain diverse cultures, religions, and lifestyles. There are however certain aspects within these countries and cultures that act as a common ground between one another. One dominant aspect is the existence of dogs within these cultures.
Labs are known all over the world to be great with families. Labrador Retrievers are loyal, loving dogs. They are one of the most intelligent breeds of dogs in the world, which makes them willing to learn, and easy to please. Labs are also rather easy to train, whether it is potty training, or training to be a service dog. These dogs also have great temperaments and are very friendly, great around young kids and behave well with other dogs. Although this might not be true for all Labs, for it takes some work from the owners to show their dog’s right and wrong, they still need love and care from their families. Not only are these dogs great around families and kids, they are also great for older people if they are trained properly as pups. Labs are one of the most preferred service dogs for their willingness to learn, their love for people, and their soft actions. These dogs are naturally calm and hardly ever aggressive. However, they can also be trained to be police dogs along with German Shepherds. Not only are these dogs great temperament wise, they are also gorgeous animals. These dogs can come in three different colors, black, yellow, or chocolate. Some studies show that the black and chocolate Labs tend to be more hyper and playful and the yellow Labs are a lot more laid back. Now this again is not 100% true, but has been noticed by owner...
There are many breeds of dogs to choose from some of the most common are golden retriever, German shepherd, and Labrador retriever. Many people can pick almost any breed they are looking for though. The common breeds I pointed out are used because of their intelligence, willingness to work, and their mobility. The dogs that help are really filling a hole that these people have.
Training your dog is the most important part of canine companionship. A happy dog is one who has structure and boundaries. Dogs are pack animals, and as such, they need guidance in the behavior that you expect from them. If you don't follow through in this leadership role, then the dog will naturally feel as if it is his place to do so. A dog that understands that you are the leader will naturally be easier to train.
The Huskies are strong-willed and stubborn dogs. They are very territorial but also remain gentle and friendly with their master and family. If their master abuses them they will become very aggressive and are likely to turn and attack their owner. They are very good family dogs, they are especially good with children. (Animal Behavior 82-5).
However, they will usually bark at any suspicious sound, so make a fine barking watchdog. The Beagle is a scent hound, which means they are hard working dogs. Yet, they are also big love hounds. They need human contact and hate to be alone. Loneliness will make them howl and bark in complaint.
You will realize that dog training basically builds a solid relationship between you and your dog. It establishes you as a pack leader. The time you spend together as a team, learning about each other, normally deepens your bond.
People have started to make remarks of the resemblance between dogs and their owners, and from what we have found, it is usually noticed at dog shows and from strangers passing by in the streets. There are two factors that could make the owner and the dog similar. One would be people selecting dogs that are like them, and people who select dogs which features start to change and become similar to them over time. As a comparison to animals and their dogs, there is evidence that couples look physically similar after 25 years rather than people who have recently been wed. In the research we have conducted, we have found that purebred dogs have a greater resemblance than people who own non purebred dogs.
