to meet her on August 14, 2015. I actually met with Mrs. Michelle Ritter, so there I went to register for my classes in room J-310. Being the classroom and being offered and advising really put me on edge, I felt as if I was alone registering for the four classes I would take starting on August 24, 2015. All I was given was a piece of paper that showed me how to register for classes. I did not have the advisement as I thought I should have had coming out of high school as a graduate and into college as a freshman. Sitting in that class deciding what classes would fit into my schedule for the semester. Mrs. Ritter not once got out her seat with walk around and assist anyone she should knew we were going to have questions, like freshman advice and issues that may come up while registering for the classes. Instead I was on the phone with my father during the whole class registration process. And that first day of school was on a Monday, August 24, and when I arrived at her class at 12:40 pm and she came in at 1:00pm I figured out that she was a reading teacher which made me disappointed because I was assigned to her classroom for registration and she had no idea what was going on at all. All my concerns are no is to make sure I meet with Mrs. Tawana Mattox on October 20, 2015 to discuss the necessary requirements of getting out of Athens Technical College successfully. My major at Athens Technical College is an Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education that requires 75 credit hours.
I have made a decision to transfer to Armstrong Atlantic State University and in doing so I have to transfer with a 2.5 GPA and 30 credit hours in order to be accepted to the Early Childhood Program at Armstrong Atlantic State University. Also, there is something else I have to take into consideration some of my classes I am currently enrolled in may not transfer so I need to be careful, so that I will be better off in the future. There are a number of things to do transfer to AASU like: pay application fee, send official transcript from Athens Technical College, immunization records, and proof of lawful presence. After being accepted there are still a few things to do: one of them is signing up for housing and residence life of a transfer student. I looking to transfer as soon as get 30 credit hours which maybe spring 2017 or summer 2017. Which spring 2017 deadline is not determined yet and summer 2017 deadline has not yet been announced either. Degree Works can help me progress through my Early Childhood Education Care Degree by simply keeping me on track as to what courses I have completed and ones I have to take in the
future.
To achieve my goal to complete my Associate’s Degree Human Services I know that I must increase my GPA to be in good standards with not only with J Sargeant Reynolds Community College and the being in good standing with the program curriculum also. I also understood that I had I cut back doing extra hours on the job to be more focused on my education and also my work schedule to work around my learning to be more focused on my learning. I also learned not to put too much pressure on myself on the school course work load so that I can succeed without cramming too much information in my
I am always a little nervous and hesitant when I begin writing an essay. Ever since I was little I was an honor roll student, passed all my tests, was placed in honors and AP classes, and eventually graduated a year early from high school. I used to be so confident when I would begin writing a paper, I could finish it within a couple minutes. During junior year of high school, I began taking duel credit classes. I was passing all the classes so far until I reached English 111. It was an 8-week course and I started to get overwhelmed. All throughout the course I was having a little bit of trouble on the essays. I would still receive a passing grade, but it wasn’t an A. I began becoming a little discouraged and didn’t understand what was going
Lucinda is currently pursuing her degree in business at a local university. She has been attending the university for the past two-and-a-half years, and yet she is still at her sophomore year. She has earned just 26 credit hours towards her business degree. While attending the school, she also works part-time at the help-desk in one of the university labs.
Writing essays was never my forte, it just never came easy to me like it would to others. Since other subjects came easy to me and I had to focus more than others on writing, I had a negative attitude toward the process as a whole. During this summer semester, I was able to grow as a writer, and gain a more positive attitude toward how I write and a better feel for writing in college. Writing a paper is a process in which there are many different stages. In high school I would never write outlines or any sort of pre planning work. Other struggles I encountered in my writing were my theses, and framing quotes.
Up until this year, before taking the class intermediate composition, I thought I was a terrible writer. I was right. Writing isn’t something that I enjoy doing, nor am I good at. Writing is difficult for me because I’m not very good at explaining things in a professional manner, that can be easily well written. While writing you are expected to make little to no mistakes, which is not something I’m great at. I am so much better at explaining things with verbal words rather than written words. I had not taken any extra writing classes before this year rather than the mandatory ones. Like I had stated before, I hate writing, with a passion. I dread writing anything, especially an essay for school, like this one. I’m
Restricting degree plans can give students fewer choices which will allow for more structured curriculum, enhanced guidance, and improved college completion rates (Mangan, 2017). One major challenge that can interfere with the guided pathways model is insufficient or inconsistent enrollments. Pathway’s models implement specific scheduling for cohorts, which poses a challenge to students who do not fall within the traditional enrollment guidelines. Many community colleges have adult learners and other non-traditional students that attend their schools. These students may find it more difficult to complete their degree requirements on time due to responsibilities outside of the classroom (I.e. childcare, jobs, financial
Initial Reflective Essay When I first thought of what I wanted to do with my life after college, the first thing I thought of was helping people. The next step in deciding what I wanted to do with my life was to examine how I could accomplish this goal. I started pondering and I was thinking about how much I love to take care of my body. Health care and personal hygiene has always been an important factor in my life. So I decided to major in Health Sciences.
Thinking that I was strong minded and never looking at the negatives, ones suspicions changed my whole mind setting. After an endless wait in the mournful waiting room of the hospital, my name was called. The nurse brought us to Dr. Yazay's office where he confirmed his suspicions, and so began my life with scoliosis. Since the age of eight I have been swimming. I was a competitive swimmer for nine years, and now had to deal with a life without the activities I felt defined my identity. The treatment for my scoliosis involved wearing the most uncomfortable thing in the world which was a brace. With several restrictions on my physical activity, I had an abundance of free time on my hands.
I went into my educational experience with a wealth of background knowledge about a wide range of topics related to academics, relationships, athletics, and religion. I grew up in a small South Carolina town on a block where there were 48 children who played between the backyards and the park across the street. During the summer, we did not come inside until the street lights came on, and we played kickball, basketball, and baseball regularly. We also spent hours exploring a creek a few blocks away, catching tadpoles or frogs and, if we were really lucky, even snakes. Many of the mothers did not work outside the home and included us as they cooked meals or baked. I was in the first class in our school system to go through completely integrated schools from kindergarten through graduation and witnessed the joy and difficulties associated with changing attitudes concerning “separate but equal.” Most of the families on our block were Lebanese Catholic, and even though we were not, we learned about religion from them as we walked with to and from the church almost weekly for their religious education classes. Both sets of grandparents lived on the block next to us. We often ate dinners there where we were taught formal table manners, table settings, and basic etiquette. My mother worked part time at an historic

The Transfer University I want to attend is the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, located at 1400 Spring Garden St, Greensboro, NC 27402. I am looking into pursuing a degree in Nursing Science. The academic department, School of Nursing provided me with quality information about admissions. Information about the admissions and requirements can be found on this web address, https://nursing.uncg.edu/admissions-finaid/undergraduate-requirements/. My University of choice is a part of the North Carolina Comprehensive Articulation Agreement. I know this because this University is one of the listed schools apart of the agreement. This is important to know because it determines if my University of choice will accept my transfer application for Nursing.
Transferring is a process that is taken step by step, and the key to a successful transfer is to stay organized. The work that informed me of the transfer process was Debra Louie’s “Transfer Admission Presentation to English 1A Classes.” Her slideshow helped me organize and identify the steps I should be
Work-based learning programs come in many forms and sizes. They may be designed exclusively for students at the secondary or postsecondary level or for students at both levels. Work-based learning programs may be schoolwide, districtwide, regional, or statewide, or they may be based on a combination of local and statewide implementation and oversight. Michigan's school-to-work system, for example, is designed and implemented by state and local personnel who work collaboratively to establish partnerships of employers, schools, labor organizations, parents, students, and community members to meet their local community needs by offering one or more occupational learning and career exposure activities (Ingham Intermediate School District [ISD] 1995a).
Transferring to a four year university from a local community college can become very stressful and challenging. One is exposed to a new atmosphere that many times feels overwhelming. As for the transfer process, it can become very confusing, but one believes that the councilors have the capability of guiding and direct you in the right direction. Winston-Salem State University is a great school, that offers many opportunities, but as for the purpose of this macro change plan process I will focus on the communication between departments. I have experience during my transfer process the lack of communication between advisors and the requirements of each major. Implementing a process in which after meeting with one’s general advisor assigned over the summer the student also needs to meet with their department of interest to review the requirements. I believe this problem is serious enough to merit a macro change. While conducting research many transfer students have informed me and expressed to me the lack of communication and information when transferring the Winston-Salem State
