Recommended: The Importance of Respect
Disrespect According to Webster’s New World Dictionary, Respect is “to show consideration for; to honor or esteem somebody or something”. When we care for another, or by honoring their ideas and recognise their successes, we are respecting that person. We are showing that person that we care what they think we care about their happiness and we care about what goes on in there life. The fifth amendment in the bible tells you to respect your mother and your father. It tells you to always respect and follow your parents with whatever they tell you. Every Time you disrespect your parents in anyway you are also putting void to the word of god. Respect does not just have to do with recognising a person's good deeds and listening to their ideas or rules. With respect you must also think about yourself and the things that you do, and how it might affect the people you care about you. Anything decision you make could not mean anything to you but can have a negative effect …show more content…
responsibility means by dictionary definition “the state or fact of having a duty to deal with something or of having control over someone.” If you have the responsibility to pick someone up from somewhere you can show them that you care and have respect by showing up on time and picking them up. For showing them you care you will also receive the kindness and respect that you deserve. Your parents will always be with you for the rest of your life and should get the respect that they deserve. When your parents give you rules you should follow them no questions asked. When your parents ask you a question you should always answer with the truth and not a lie. When your parents tell you to do something you should do it with no hesitation. Your parents are only trying to help you understand and become the greatest person you can be. They know what's best for you and one day you will thank them for the things they did for
Respect is a such a simple concept and a virtue that should be simple to follow. It means treating other people and animals in a dignified manner. Respect doesn’t mean that people need to hug everyone they come across or hold their opinion higher than everyone elses. Respect means treating others as equals and acknowledging that as human
Really, our parents know more than us. They have lived longer than us and therefore, know more than us. We should always obey our parents because this is what God says and also because that is what is right.
When I think of what respect means to me, my definition is: listening and being mindful of what someone is saying or doing. The dictionary on Google has respect listed as: “admire (someone or something) deeply, as a result of their abilities, qualities, or achievements” (Google). I have never associated with respect with admiring someone’s abilities, qualities, yet along their achievements. The two different mothers in the stories view respect differently as well.
Proper respect for others begins by a person respecting their self. Respect is developed by expressing honor, leadership, value, and trust in a person. If everyone respects everyone someday, the world will become a seventh heaven. It is important to be respectful for safety, to abide by the law, because children are influenced by their elders’ actions, and because God says so. Motivation from peers can help a person realize there is always room to improve the level of respect a person exhibits. Respect was, is, and always will be a positive attribute for everyone to strive for in their lives.
We are all children, and we must learn not to resent our parents because of their actions, but to accept them and understand why they are the way they are. Wilson -.
Respect to me is admiring someone for their abilities, qualities, or achievements. I think respect is always earned an can never be given. As soldiers soldiers we should always respect our peers because they have made the same sacrifice as us. But as soldiers we should have a higher level of respect for our NCOs because they have done their time an have earned it. Being respectful is not hard it is simple, just treat others the way we would like to be treated ourselves.
My parents have always pushed me to be better than they were. They knew that if I wanted to be successful I needed to go to college. In highschool, they always made me put my education before anything else. My parents didn’t go to college so they would always tell me to not make that mistake because their lives could have been easier if they would of just invested a few more years into their education. They would also tell me about all the opportunities that missed out on because they decided not to further their education.
In three seperate dictionaries, respect is defined as a regard for or appreciation of the worth or value of someone or something. In my opinion, respect goes far beyond this definition. Respect is the cornerstone of the society in which we live. Although many look at respect as simply treating another person or thing with kindness, this word has many different aspects. For instance, I would not give an elder the same type of respect that I would give my peers or myself. Respect is not considered a neccessity in this world but, I can’t imagine a person getting very far in life without this virtue.
Now, everyone always says that you should always listen to your parents but that is not always the case. While your parents may be older and have more experience they still do not know everything. But don’t get me wrong, you should obey your parents when they have your best interest in mind and are genuinely trying to help you through life. But, sometimes, kids especially know this to be true, your parents just don’t understand. Which I find funny because they are always saying I was a kid once too but then they just seem to forget what it feel like because they are too busy being a parent. I think thats one of the biggest reasons that they don’t understand, if they had a kids perspective i truly believe that they would handle a lot of things differently. Some parents don’t care about trying to understand they just try to use their children to make their lives better even at the cost of their children's happiness. While some parents do know a lot, in cases like they are asking you to do something dangerous, if they want you to do something that goes against what you believe, and if they don’t understand the situation.
Respect is a behavior that shows another person moral and ethical acceptance. Showing respect for another, even when not deserved, is considered to be a good sign of breeding in times past, but now as where society has changed, dissing "show disrespect for" has become more accepted, this behavior suggests a cultural shift from rewarding kindness and self-restraint to applauding a more open expression of hospitality through rudeness. Perhapes there is a lessening of concern over being respectable, along with an increased vigilance oto make sure one is respected.Concludeing that Civility must beging with the individual person making small sacraficiesfor others.
Respecting others is also another important aspect of your life because if you respect others they will respect you and more than likely you will become friends. Respect is obeying in class and not being rowdy in the hallway. It is the respect of their ideas and what they stand for. Respect is what brings people together, and if it is not used, it is what can tear people and families apart. Respecting your parents is very important in your life, respecting your parents can be doing something they tell you, like washing the ...
Every child who has been placed on this earth was made by the choice of their parents, who were given the opportunity to procreate. As children grow up and become adults, their parents become elderly and are unable to take care of themselves. Grown children don’t owe their parents anything, but to have a relationship of honoring their parents with love and respect.
First , I have to respect my parents expectations about my life and education but in the same time I have to explain for them my dreams ,my feelings and what major I want to study. Second, my parents have to respect and accept my goals in life and in the future when I will be a mother , I will listen carefully to my children and I will balance between my expectation and their dreams. Also, I learned to look at every thing from different
When I hear about others who get into an argument with their parents and how they cannot stand them, it breaks my heart. Stop with the irrelevant things and tell your parents how much you love them. I will never be able to tell my mother how much I care for her, which I have to live and deal with every day of my
Children must be responsible for accepting the rules of the parents. Responsibility is the fact of being accountable for and making decisions without authorization. Having great responsibility will make someone successful in the task that they take or tasks that come to them. Parents, who worry about the child’s future, attempt to set good morals on their child. Of course, as good parents, they want to educate their children to always choose the right decision.
