Everyday, The majority of Americans commute to work or school. During your travels, Have you seen the driver that weaves in and out of traffic or the speedster? What about the driver texting, looking at their phone, reading a paper, or fooling with the radio? What about the makeup artist while they are driving? Are you guilty of being one of these type of drivers?
Automobile accidents are the leading cause of deaths in America. Although new safety technologies are being developed everyday that will continue to help bring the death rate down, learning to become a defensive driver will increase your likelihood of reaching your destination safe and unharmed. The speed limits and road signs are designed and strategically placed to keep you safe. Remember speeding limits your reaction times and increases your chances of getting into an accident.
Another tip, Be on the lookout for other drivers. Constantly scan your mirrors to be aware of what other cars are doing around you. High eyes, a technique used by race car drivers, requires you to look out ahead. Avoid focusing on the car in front of you. While driving, think of scenarios that could happen and give yourself out.
