AGE FRIENDLY DANVILLE: DRIVABILITY Danville was the first in Contra Costa County to have a neighborhood traffic management program (NTMP) to address neighborhood traffic issues. Due to the fact, that the main town has narrow streets, lined with boutiques, restaurants, and cafes, there is a huge influx of pedestrians, thus, the importance for education and enforcibiity about safe driving is crucial. In the downtown area, the speed limit is 25 MPH, and on the outskirts of Danville, the speed limits range from 30-45 MPH. The town council makes traffic enforcement a priority by instilling safety and appropriate behavior while driving in Danville. Again, due to the beautification project that was recently finished, there are large street signs

“Dubbed ‘the most popular poet in America’ by Bruce Weber in the New York Times, Billy Collins is famous for conversational, witty poems that welcome readers with humor but often slip into quirky, tender or profound observation on the everyday, reading and writing, and poetry itself” (“Billy Collins”).“Billy Collins was the American Poet Laureate from 2001 to 2003” (534). His work was highly recognized due to his use of literary elements and his high intellect in the field of poetry. Collins constantly receives praise from others. High traffic fees and fines quite often cause financial difficulties for the lower class. Transportation has become a necessity over the past one hundred years. Unfortunately with the constant improvements in vehicle technologies the cost of owning and maintaining a vehicle has constantly increased. Going hand in hand with these vehicle improvements the California Vehicle Code (CVC) has become extensive, covering every possible driving mistake with a traffic infraction. Following these changes the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has constantly grown to cover the needs of the 27 million vehicles (DMV update 1998, 3) owned in the state with high vehicle registration fees and traffic fines.
This political action memo explains that I want the speed limit lowered in my neighborhood. Then it provides five political actions I can take to get the speed limit lowered on my residential street. First, I will explain why the speed limit should be reduced and how it will benefit my neighborhood's safety concerns. Then I will explain both the positives and negatives of the five political actions I could take: making a phone call to my city council member, completing a Traffic Service Request form, sending an e-mail to my state legislature, attending a city council meeting, or creating a petition. Finally, this political action memo concludes that sending an e-mail to the Transportation
A group of investors (Arundel group) is looking into the idea of purchasing the sequel rights associated with films produced by one or more major movie studios. Movie rights are to be purchased prior to films being made. Arundel wants to come up with a decision to either purchase all the sequel rights for a studio's entire production during a specified period of time or purchase a specified number of major films. Arundel's profitability is dependent upon the price it pays for a portfolio of sequel rights. Our analysis of Arundel's proposal includes a net present value calculation of each movie production company. In order to decide whether Arundel can make money buying movie sequel rights depends on whether the net present value of the production company's movies is higher than the estimated 2M per film required to purchase the rights.
The culture object I chose was the film “Pleasantville”. The movie is about two high schoolers, David and Jennifer, in the 90’s who are transformed into the television show “Pleasantville”. As alluded in the title, the show they mysteriously appear in is perfect; nothing ever goes wrong. David’s first instinct is to follow the plotline of the show, he doesn’t think they should disrupt the citizen’s lives. Jennifer has different plans, and has sex with one of the boys at the high school. This concept is completely unknown to the people of Pleasantville, and stirs the town into turmoil. Everyone then starts acting out line; they have feelings and emotions that control their actions. They no longer all have the same mindset.
1. What is the difference between a. and a. East St. Louis (Life on the Mississippi) -Explain the statement that in East St. Louis, the city is organized for adults and NOT children. Overall, safety and poverty seem to be the main issues for children in the city of East St. Louis. Many of the families are said to live on less than 7,500$ a year and the city is basically described as a dump. With a lack of public services such as trash pick-up, residents are forced to place their trash all over the city.
The practice of colonialism by several nations led to the possession and exploitation of weaker countries. It resulted in the strengthening of the mother country and oppression of the indigenous people of the colonies (Nowell, 2013). Colonial cities were deliberately developed within colonial societies in order to centralize political and economic control. Essentially, colonial cities facilitated the consolidation and exportation of wealth to the dominating nation (The Editors of the Encyclopædia Britannica, 2014).

The City of Toronto is very diverse in terms of culture, financial and social status. Due to having such a diverse society Toronto has to address all aspects and levels of its citizens. Toronto as a whole does a good job at creating centers and recreational programs which accept and target all people but it seems to not be enough. Youth violence has been a problem in Toronto for as long as one can remember. To address it Toronto has done a lot lawfully and protective wise but to go to the roots is the way to fix it. If Youth violence was addressed through crating more forms of public recreation the youth would have ways to express themselves and feel more confident lessening the level of lashing out. If Toronto used public funds to would allow

The city of Longtown, Ohio is crashing down. The population of blacks is decreasing, and the population of whites is increasing. Individuals in Longtown have a past of integration, and Connor Keiser is trying to preserve the life him and his ancestors have lived. Riverside should adapt some of the ways Longtown, Ohio functions. The city has demonstrated unity and the positive ways black and white people live together. The article by Washington Post, “Ohio town holds rare history: Races mix freely for nearly 200 years” expresses the need for integration and how Connor Keiser plans to save it. The foundation of Longtown was by James Clemens, and according to the great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandson the town has a past history that should not be changed.
It is important to follow all traffic laws to keep everyone safe on road. The amount of traffic accidents and losses drops significantly when people are obeying the rules on the road. Sometimes we forget what a big responsibility it is to drive carefully. Traffic laws are designed to protect you and other drivers on the streets. If we don’t follow them we are not only putting ourselves in risk but also other innocent people. By knowing the rules of the road, practicing good driving skills, you help play a vital role in preventing a crash. You will also be making the safety policies more effective.
