Although it sometimes appears hard to have a true appreciation and understand art, I have learned that every museum has something different to offer. From the works they display, the decoration and architecture of the museum itself, to the people strolling in the museum; all those factors shape the ambiance and ultimately influence our experience. For this assignment I chose to go to the Dallas Museum of Art in downtown Dallas, TX. I chose this museum because it matches the requirements for the assignment, and it has been over a year since I visited this particular museum. The Dallas Museum of Art has so many different types of art that everyone is sure to fall in love with at least one work of art. One of the many things I like about museums …show more content…
It portrays the bird’s eye view of one of the most iconic structures in the world. The curved lines capture the dizziness effect of the height and speed in which you travel to the top. Delaunay uses bright, warm colors which are what originally attracted me to the painting. While the subject matter is the Eiffel Tower, what really stand out are his choices of colors and the locality of where they are used. Delaunay uses various different shades of yellow, orange, red, and green. He is very intentional with his color choices and pays attention to the detailed intricacy of the tower. Although detail oriented, he is inconsistent with the details between the tower’s elevations. The painting is divided into the main focal point, the Eiffel Tower, and the four surrounding quadrants. In the top left quadrant we can see curbed lines which come together to form whirling propellers. The top right and lower left quadrants are painted in a freer format matter. Lastly the lower right quadrants are more straight lines and rectangles. The lines and shapes used bring together the bird’s eye view of his non symmetrical point of …show more content…
How am I, a rookie in art, supposed to criticize the merits and worth of this specific art work? Nonetheless, I think the Eiffel Tower by Robert Delaunay is a valuable piece. It exudes perfection in its own way. The painting is detailed and has a strong regional relationship which organically coincides. It exemplifies technological advancement of that time specifically in Paris. The Eiffel Tower is a timeless beacon of modernity and progress that has stood the test of time. Although the colors and the subject themselves are two very strong facets of the artwork they perfectly go hand in hand. Neither part outshines the other. The colors and lines provide insight into the artist thoughts and what was going on in the world at that time. It is more than just art it is a time stamp of that time. The Orphic cubism and slightly abstract forms evokes our participation. The creativity of the bird’s eye point of view mixed with propeller exhibits uniqueness to the Eiffel Tower. Therefore I believe the Eiffel Tower by Robert Delaunay exhibits unique perfection, insight, and inexhaustibility thus making it a valuable piece of
On My visit to the Hunter Museum I chose the piece of art that I felt best related to. I picked the piece of art Pullman, by Hung Liu, because I loved the way they worked together to accomplish a mission. Pullman is a 2 dimensional wall piece created by Hung Liu in 2004, and was later purchased by the Hunter Museum in 2009. Pullman is A 66x132 inch oil on canvas, colored paining and is displayed on the wall in the museum. There is a wall text about the piece that can be found next to the painting. The painting is hard to define from close distance, but the farther you stand away the colors and textures come together. The paining is on a wall by itself, and is truly a breathtaking piece. We often take for granted the luxuries we have in the United States.

The facility was smaller than expected by many on the tour group. However, the tour guide had a very nice explanation to each of the artworks. By visiting the museum to gain the aesthetic experience it has open many people point of views to how they can express his or her self through art.

The Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) had three different artists work on display. It was split up into three different rooms the first room was Design 99 To Much of a Good Thing and in the next room is Latoya Ruby Frazier Mother May I and in the last room was Jef Geys Woodward Avenue. The art that was on display was not traditional art work. All of the artist’s work displayed in the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit was out of the box thinking. The flow in each exhibit made it easy to move from one piece of art work to another piece of work.
Many might have been working on Good Friday, but many others were enjoying The Frist Museum of Visual Arts. A museum visitor visited this exhibit on April 14, 2017 early in the morning. The time that was spent at the art museum was approximately two hours and a half. The first impression that one received was that this place was a place of peace and also a place to expand the viewer’s imagination to understand what artists were expressing to the viewers. The viewer was very interested in all the art that was seen ,but there is so much one can absorb. The lighting in the museum was very low and some of the lighting was by direction LED lights. The artwork was spaciously
For majority of people, cruising through a fine arts museum or gallery is nothing short of browsing through a textbook and failing to grasping knowledge of the content. A casual activity and check off ones list of to-dos, sometimes done just for the appearance it offers. Of that majority, one might look at a painting for a long while before connecting the uncommunicated dots from gallery label. But for the small remaining others, a trip to an art exhibition is a journey through emotions and feelings rendered by the artists of the particular works of art. Leo Tolstoy deems this to be the appropriate response to “true art” in his What is Art?, published in 1897. Tolstoy responds to the
The St. Louis Art Museum is one of the United States most renowned art museums that is located in our very own St. Louis. It has over 30,000 pieces of exquisite art that I had the privilege to witness. While there, I mainly examined the art pieces that were modern art, since that is of what I have a good working knowledge. There is a wide range of art that I also got to witness including the sculptures and the museum itself. In the past year, they have recently installed a new sector of their establishment that has done nothing less than enhance the entire museum’s overall beauty. The St. Louis Art Museum, there are many beautiful works, but there were three special projects that caught my eye while I was there. The Contemporary art periods, Modern art periods, the American art periods, and the museum itself.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art came about as an idea from Jon Jay in Paris, France in 1866 with the idea of “national institution gallery of art” within the United States. Once this idea was proposed, it was immediately moved forward with his return to the United States. With the help of the Union League Club in NY they began to acquire civic leaders, businessmen, artists, and collectors who aided in the creation of the museum. For over 140 years, the visitors who go here have received everything the mission of the institution states.
...ey acknowledges its permanent collection as being its most valuable asset. As I have stated earlier in this essay, with a collection consisting of over 12,000 paintings and representing more than 2,000 artists, the Whitney can fully present the most complete overview of twentieth century American art. With this wide range of modern American art, the visitor is offered a chance to experience fully the direction art has taken in America for the past one hundred years while also representing contemporary artists. The museums collection is also recognized as for its in-depth commitment to a number of key artists. From the first half of the century, such seminal figures as Edward Hopper (Figure 3), which the Whitney has acquired his entire estate. This demonstrates the Whitney’s dedication to key figures in American art and also which artists they perceive as being worthy or such attention, ones that in the Whitney’s vision have contributed most to the American art scene during their time and influential past their lives works. By dedicating two entire floors to the display of the permanent collection, the Museum reaffirms the collection's central role in the Whitney Museum experience.
The Tampa Museum of Art was not always the same museum that we see today. It went through multiple stages throughout the years. The works vary, creating a large spectrum from the old to the new. The social angles change with the exhibits in the museum, combining to create the diversity we see today. Visiting this museum in person helped me to appreciate it even more than I would have thought possible. Observing and analyzing the other visitors helped me to understand the museum’s impact on the community more than I would have been able to just by reading about it. This museum is much different from others than I have visited.
During my visit to the Pérez Art Museum Miami, I did more than just observing beautiful artworks. With the guidelines provided I could appreciate and study also the hidden meaning of some of the pieces I had in front of me. Some of them were easier than other ones, due to previous knowledge I had, but all of them made me examine them in a critic way that enriched my cultural heritage.
There are four prominent art and design elements that were utilized in this painting: lines, shapes, light and value, and color. The first element is directional lines. Directional lines are used to guide the viewer’s eye to the main piece of the painting. In this case, the lines starting from the top right of the painting are directional. They lead your eyes to the large
One pleasant afternoon, my classmates and I decided to visit the Houston Museum of Fine Arts to begin on our museum assignment in world literature class. According to Houston Museum of Fine Art’s staff, MFAH considers as one of the largest museums in the nation and it contains many variety forms of art with more than several thousand years of unique history. Also, I have never been in a museum in a very long time especially as big as MFAH, and my experience about the museum was unique and pleasant. Although I have observed many great types and forms of art in the museum, there were few that interested me the most.
Yes, all good actions and things have something in common. The word “Holiness” comes in many forms. It can take a religious interpretation and humanistic interpretation. Being honest with people can be supported in both contexts: religious and humanistic interpretation because being an honest person gives people hope and faith and these two factors lead people to do good deeds. Financing someone’s education is another good action. Therefore, both being an honest person in a community and financing someone’s education are good actions and the common thing about these two actions are holiness. Human beings are social creatures who can differentiate good things from evil things. There is a common thing in all good deeds and that is holiness. Holiness
