The past two and a half weeks have been very productive and I continue to make progress in continuing to regain my tissue mobility. The medication in conjunction with the work hardening program is working and the restriction in my shoulder appears to be lessening in small increments weekly. I am trying to be patient and had one bad session from me trying to push too hard too fast in an effort to move through my restriction, but I now realize that slow and steady will win this race. Additionally, my sleep periods are improving. I am successfully working two hours per day from home without flare-up of my shoulder and my at home work hardening sessions have increased to nearly four hours.
However, the symptoms from the medications (Cymbalta 60mg/daily, Gabapentin 100mg/daily, Topamax 150 mg daily, Hydoxyzine 20 mg/daily, Skelaxin 800/daily) have not resolved. I am still experiencing decreased mental focus/clarity, drowsiness during the day, word recall challenges though not as severe, difficulty comprehending documents I am reading requiring me to re-read them several times, hand tremors and fatigue. I still believe the benefits of the medication combination outweigh the symptoms I am experiencing; thus, I would like to remain on my medications.

My work hardening sessions are approximately a 40 minute drive so I have someone to drive me. Periodically, I test myself to see whether my symptoms have resolved by driving a very short distance locally. As of September 15th, they had
Patient returned the next day still complaining of pain. The PT applied heat, then initiated the exercise program, but the patient could not perform theem to same extent as previously, secondary to pain. Therefore, the PT told the patient to schedule an appointment with his physician. The patient was seen by the MD the next day and an arthrogram performed that revealed a reinjure to the repaired site. And a second surgery repaired the rotator cuff.
Polypharmacy is the “concurrent use of several differ drugs and becomes an issue in older adults when the high number of drugs in a medication regimen includes overlapping drugs for the same therapeutic effect”(Woo & Wynne, 2011, p. 1426). The patient is currently taking several medications that can potential interact with each other, perform the same therapeutic effect, and creating side effects. The following is a list of her medications and their indications:
Fortunately, it wasn’t as difficult as it may have been presented to me at the time. When I was faced with this problem, I thought of the physical therapist that treated me when I had both of my ACL surgeries in middle school. Physical therapy has always interested me, I did my Junior paper on it and the career itself. The therapist that treated me, Dennis Schepmann at the Jackson County Physical Therapy in Phoenix was the perfect candidate to be my mentor. Dennis gladly took me in and set up everything, with which hours I needed to go in, which therapist and which room I went in to in order to complete my project in time.
Over the course of this class I feel like I have become a much better writer. When I go back and look at some of my Journal entries and assignments that I did at the beginning of the semester, I can’t help but tense up at some of the things I wrote. Sometimes the things I was writing didn’t flow well, or I might have even have missed glaring grammar mistakes.
People have created a hectic and busy world, that includes careers and daily activities that require physical activity. While attempting to attain the required physical conditioning, people often take chances with their personal health as they try to stretch their physical limits. Sometimes, people can surpass their current limits and form new boundaries; however, other times people are not so fortunate. These unfortunate times often lead to injury, including workplace accidents, sporting incidents, disease afflictions, as well as others; any or all of which could bring about the need of rehabilitation services. Many of these require physical therapy, which includes assisting injured or otherwise impaired patients as they recover to their pre-injury status or to recover as much as is physically possible. The field of physical therapy is a choice career for those who enjoy helping people recover from injury, and the following text will provide reason for choosing this profession.
As a second language learner I have never expected myself to be a perfect writer throughout the semester. Even If English was my first language still, I would not be a perfect writer. It is not about first or second language, it is about how well I understand the learning objectives. Then organizing and writing with my own ideas and putting them in my paper. I am going to be honest, I am not good at English subject and English subject is my strongest weakness than the other subjects. In this paper I will discuss and analyze my own writing, reflecting on the ways that my writing has improved throughout the semester.

It is a home exercise program that allows the patient to take an active part in their healing. Gently moving the soft tissue prepares it for the treatment it receives from the therapist. Time previously spent during the therapy session to initiate change in the tissues is used instead to advance further release and flexibility. The therapist is able to focus treatment time on stubborn areas of connective tissue restriction that have not changed in response to exercise. The positioning the patient uses to complete the exercises helps the therapist identify the source of the problem which is not usually in the same place as the patient’s primary complaint. This partnership between the therapist and the patient translates into quicker recovery and improved pain relief for the

When I was five years old,I had my first fracture, I fell off my brother’s tricycle while I was standing on it to reach for the light switch, I fell right on my left arm which resulted in fracture of my humerus and damage to my elbow ligaments, my arm was immobilized in a cast for about six weeks, after the cast was removed, I could not flex my elbow at all, I also had difficulty using my arm, I started range of motion and strengthening exercise till my arm was back to normal, it was a difficult but enjoyable process as well and I felt so proud of myself. This led me to find an interest in rehabilitation. I pursued this path and earned a B.A. in physiotherapy with the hope of improving the lives of others.
First and foremost because I failed to fulfill the academic requirements for Final Warning during the spring 2015 I was suspended at the end of the semester. I failed to obtain a semester grade point average of 2.30 or above. I failed to complete at least 12 credits for letter grades. At first I thought my first semester poor performance was simply because I was not academically ready for college. However, after spending almost a year at home with my father I have come to realized how not playing competitive soccer and my family complications affected me deeply.
Summary: Dan is a 40-year-old man who used to play tennis over 20 years ago. One day he decided to pick up his racket and join his friend Kevin for a match. Dan went all out and played an intense match. A week later Dan experience right shoulder pain but still decided to help Kevin move some heavy furniture out of his house. A few days later Dan’s right shoulder got worse and he went to see an orthopedic specialist. The specialist told him that he probably overstretched a ligament or muscle during his tennis match and that lifting of heavy furniture only aggravated his condition. Afraid that he had torn his rotator cuff, the specialist sent Dan for a MRI. Dan is concerned if he will ever be able to play tennis again.
Physiotherapy is the study of the movement and function of the human anatomy and the relationship between the persons’ health and wellbeing (Dhrs.uct.ac.za, 2015). A physiotherapist’s speciality is treating “individuals across the life-span who have illness, injury or disability affecting the neuro-musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, vascular, and neurological systems” (Ontario Physiotherapy Association, 2015:3). A physiotherapist’s main goal is for their patient to receive the highest level of independence by educating patients how to “prevent reoccurring injuries” that disrupt their daily routine (Ontario Physiotherapy Association, 2015:3). Physiotherapists would deal with “long term ailments” (Zweigenthal et al., 2009:235) that cannot simply be treated with the dosage of medication but with the dedication from both the physiotherapist and patient in the appointed interactive physical sessions, a treatment plan can be formulated to guarantee the most efficient road to
Disorders and injuries of the musculoskeletal system can be extremely painful, and may affect your overall quality of life. Depending on the type of soft tissue injury you have, you may not be able to work for long periods of time. In some cases, it may be difficult for you to return to work if you’ve been injured.
January of last year, I underwent an evaluation to see if physical therapy would benefit me due severe pain in both shoulders. I found out that my upper and mid back muscles (rhomboids, traps, and rear deltoids) had lengthened and my front deltoids and pectorals had shortened to the point that my shoulders where severely rounded which was creating the pain. I was recommended by both my chiropractor and physician to undergo physical therapy for 3 months at three times a week. I started my treatment at the beginning of February. Throughout the duration of the treatment, I had manipulations performed of on to free and stretch out my chest. I was also given strategies and guidelines to strengthen my back muscles and stretch out my chest during my free time. As a result, I started to workout. I was only able to work out my back muscles during this time and not much else as we did not want to prolong the treatment. After the three-month duration, my posture had significantly improved and my shoulders no longer hurt.
