In the field of cybersecurity, ethics are a top priority for everyone starting with the person executing the work to the company allowing that access to sensitive material. In cybersecurity, you can operate in many sensitive areas in the private sector and government, so having an ethical mentality will help the company and person. Having an overall ethical workplace when it comes to security and sensitive information can keep you and the company out of trouble, be good for business, and show the company in a favorable light to the consumer and/or contractor.
Organizations should strive to have an ethical mentality when it comes to cybersecurity. Highly trained security professionals are better at dealing with the day-to-day ethical problems that come with having access to information. Trained professionals and security groups are better equipped when an issue presents itself and understand the policies and procedures that the company sets forth.
