The field of culinary arts is just that; an art form. To be successful in this profession one requires a certain set of skills which include dedication, an ability to work with others, and most importantly, creativity. Working long hours with little recognition or thanks can quickly drain an individual. In order to get through the difficult times a person will need a deep-seated passion for cooking. I believe for a kitchen to be successful it needs to run like a well-oiled machine. Each employee is a small cog that is still necessary for the restaurant to run effectively. One minor problem could escalate into a major disaster, because of this reason it is important to be able to communicate with others in order to get the job done. Creating new food is my favorite part of the job. It creates a new challenge, from choosing the right ingredients to perfecting the final product, while keeping things from getting stale. I had so many different interests as I grew up it was hard for me to decide on just one area. From veterinary, to audio engineering, and even criminal justice, I tried several different fields but nothing felt like the freedom of culinary arts. I grew up with food being an integral part of my family. The biggest inspirations I have to further my education are my aunt and uncle. They have owned their own restaurant for nearly forty years. I had always seen how much time they had put into their work but from it they created a successful business. Working for them as I gained more responsibility in the kitchen was the driving force behind me furthering my education. I am eager to take the skills I will learn within the culinary arts program and use them to better myself and their

For example, the coastline has great seafood and the south has awesome comfort food. Colombia is divided into 32 departments, or country subdivisions. Each area has unique dishes that reflect their department.

If I were to ask people, “Do you see anything wrong with the food system in America?” the majority of people would respond “No”. After all, America is the best country on Earth. How could the alleged best country on Earth be running on a tainted system that only cares about profit? It was not until I did my own research that I uncover the many, many flaws. After watching the documentary Food Inc., it is very evident that the current system providing the nation with food and food safety is broken. In order to amend the current system, there needs to be changes in three key areas: the government, the producers, and the consumers.
Restaurant manager is a responsible position and career which has several opportunities to accomplish. The manager has to manage the whole restaurant staff, has to be flexible in approach and promote motivation and performance among them for better restaurant productivity and profits. Complete dedication is essential to reach highest position in management and for this the person has to settle certain goals and improve the skills, values and qualities with time and market demands (Brawer eta l., 2012).
I have wanted to go to a Culinary School since I was seven years old. I have a true passion for cooking and baking. I feel like I could make something of myself by embracing my passion. Everybody has to eat. It is a necessary part of life. Some people may require more or less than others do, which would result in the consumption of more food. Traditionally, people that have stronger family ties will tend more to a sit down meal or a large gathering of friends and family. Weaker family ties will often result in meals around the television or going out to eat. While this is not always the case, everyone is going to eat. Some people may even be too busy for a home cooked meal or even to go out. Those people may seek a private chef to come to his or her house and cook for that individual. Upon researching the career of personal chef, it is important to address the history, skills and education, and positive and negative aspects of the profession.
Have you ever had a special place, where you can eat a meal and all of your troubles are gone? That’s how I feel every time I go to Deli Delicious. Deli Delicious is a fast-food chain that serves Sandwiches, fries, and chips. It was established in 1995, by a family in Fresno, California who wanted to start a restaurant business. As of 2015, They have a total of 29 franchises with 40 restaurants on the way.
A culinary chef has many skills and responsibilities that are not only necessary and useful, but also required to succeed. According to the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Chefs and head cooks oversee the daily food preparation at restaurants and other places where food is served. They direct kitchen staff and handle any food-related concerns.” (“Chefs and Head Cook”) I have three main reasons for choosing the culinary field. The first is I have a lot of experience with and around kitchens and I know I really enjoy the atmosphere of a kitchen. Food is essential in everyone’s daily life. Keeping an eye on my personal eating diets is very helpful to live a healthy life. The food diary is recorded once a week, with information of the food I eat during the day and my initial observations. My experience is very enlightening. There are evident changes of my eating and living habits, which leads me to comprehend the interactions between student life and the backstory of food better.
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be a chef. However, if one has a passion for cooking it will pay off. I am a creative person and cooking has endless possibilities of creativity, such as the way you make it and the way you plate it. I want to become a chef and hopefully open a restaurant one day. To do that, you need to learn the basic skills. Julia Child once said, “No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing.”
Have you ever tried to cook a delicious meal to impress your friends or family members? Most Americans cook despite the challenge associated with it. It takes courage and bravery to be a chef. An individual must have a passion for cooking and preparing meals from recipes. An experienced chef must have a lot of creativity on the plate and knowledge on the field. However, being a professional chef comes with many obstacles such as, standing in the kitchen for long hours can cause health problems, or the amount of stress a chef deals with can be overwhelmed, and the unhealthy eating habits that leads to overweight and over-eating.
Becoming a professional chef not only requires a thorough understanding in food preparation, but many other important points as well. Auguste Escoffier, the originator of modern foodservice wrote; "No theories, no formulae, no recipe, no matter how well written, can take the place of experience."
