In this article, it discusses creativity in the young children and how to promote it. As teachers in the classroom, there are cognitive skills goals that should be promoted inside the classroom such as color recognition, social behavior, and numeration skills. With all the time that is put into these cognitive skill goals, we intended to forget the importance of nurturing the children’s abilities to be creative. The power of creation can increase a child’s ability to have a want to learn and support their intellectual development. When defining creativity it focuses on the thought process which the article defined as the breaking up old ideas, making new connections, enlarging the limits of knowledge, the onset of wonderful ideas. How to encourage the thought process is to motivate the children in learning and encouraging new ideas also, when children learn how to be comfortable with being open they start to develop multiple thinking skills. For example, Joey, an older toddler, was glad to be invited to his friend’s birthday party, but he also feels grumpy because he did not get the toy train that his friend receives as a birthday gift( Honing, 2009). When it comes to emotions children may not know or understand the ideas or feeling that’s in their mind all at once. To help children understand that a few ideas that were given from the article …show more content…
Making shaving cream slither between fingers are just art activities that promote creativity in many early learning classrooms. For example, a teacher may be doing a finger paint project with the small group of three-year-olds, Johnny starts to see that when mixing the primary colors red and blue makes purple. He then starts dipping his fingers in more paint watches to see that red and yellow makes orange. He amazes on how mixing colors can make a new

In their article, “The Creativity Crisis”, authors Po Bronson and Ashley Merryman explore the urgency of the downfall in the public’s “creativity quotient.” Bronson and Merryman emphasize the necessity for young children to be imaginative. Through an IBM poll, they verify that with the decrease of creativity in our society comes an array of consequences seen in the work field. The authors remind readers of another reason for the importance of creativity; they argue that creative ideas can solve national matters. Hence, Branson and Merryman believe that original ideas are key for a better world. Though I concede that creativity is a vital key to the solution of many national problems, I still insist that teaching creativity,
Music and other art forms often go hand in hand. Creativity is not just a one-note deal or rather it is not confined to a singular aspect or form. Oftentimes it is interlaced into many forms, such as, music, writing, artwork, fashion and much more. Like a tree, creativity grows and extends out into infinite directions rooting itself in society. One such artist is Brandon Boyd. During the day he is a contemporary artist and by night he is a singer-songwriter for an internationally recognized rock band, Incubus. Some of their songs include; “Pardon Me” form the album entitled, When Incubus Attacks Vol. 1, and “Drive, “Dig,” and “Oil and Water,” three of my favorites, from the album entitled, Monuments and Melodies and “Sad Sick Little World” from the album entitled, A Crow Left of the Murder. In a 2009 interview with CNN, Brandon said it best, when asked, “So what does art fulfill in you that you don’t get out of music?”

Ken Robinson once said, “Creativity is putting your imagination to work, and it 's produced the most extraordinary results in human culture.” Creativity is more than just having artistic talent. According to Merriam- Webster Dictionary creativity is defined as, “the ability to make new things or think of new ideas.” A person can be creative without making a single piece of artwork. Creativity was one characteristic that Stalin and Hitler had in common. Both had artistic abilities and talent as well as possessing the ability to think creatively. Hitler and Stalin had artistic talent in their youth, however, Hitler continued to use his artistic talent and creativity while gaining power.
Creativity is an essential attribute of human beings that is primarily developed in our childhood. Creativity is defined as the ability to use the imagination to develop new and original ideas or things, especially in an artistic context. This artistic context can range anywhere from visual arts, to music, to dance. Although, the problem today is that this critical role of imagination, discovery, and creativity in a child 's education is not being fulfilled to its maximum. The cause of this expanding problem is that too many art and music programs, which promote creativity, are being taken out of school programs. Problems around this issue then begin to surface; children will soon not appreciate, or realize, creativities ' vital importance and how it shapes oneself. Therefore, curriculum in schools is limiting the growth and development of creativity in adolescents.
One of the important component for the creativity is imagination . Without it you just cannot be creative, because it is inseparable from each other. Without imagination you cannot create, because firstly you imagine something and then start to create, start to think how you can create thing which you imagine. Furthermore, talking about „what imaginization consists Morgan „emphasized the following five points““ (Morgan): imaginization is about improving our abilities to see and understand situations in new ways, imaginization is about finding new images for new ways of organizing, imaginization is about the creation of shared understandings, imaginization is about personal empowerment and imaginization is about developing capacities for continuous self-organization. Thus, some of them I try to describe.
In this article, researchers look at the assessment of creativity in job candidates. Creativity is essential for businesses to succeed. According to Amabile, Conti, Coon, Lazenby and Herron, (1996), consumer demands for innovation, reduction in product life cycles and fierce competition in the marketplace require job candidates to possess attributes of creativity. Amabile et al. (1996) defines creativity as “novel and useful ideas in any domain” (p. 1155). Examples of creativity are demonstrated by an individual’s ability to handle conflict resolution and utilize problem-solving skills. Furthermore, a creative individual is capable of being self-managed. Experience in working and leading teams is also considered characteristic of creativity (Malakate, Andriopoulos, & Gotsi, 2007).
Potentially all can achieve remarkable levels of creativity but we know Truer benefit both teachers and students. Human beings, by nature, tend to cling to routine habits that provide security and to save you having to consider their actions too often..
Assuming that creativity plays an important role in the process of primary education, we can come to the conclusion that the amount of creativity displayed does affect how our children will learn. For the future “we need to think the fundamental principles on which we are educating our children” Robinson (2006) because there has been so much change over the years in how creative our children are. Technology has a massive impact on how much a child uses their imagination but, is this the fault of the education or in fact society? Sir Ken Robinson makes an important statement, “Curiosity is the engine of achievement” showing that children need to be creative as it is becoming a vital skill to have in today and the future’s society.
ABSTRACT: Values provide evidence of spirit in human life. Spirit is a creative mental force for realizing values, a force which shows signs of a superindividual growth and decline, a life of its own. This paper documents the historic rise and decline of several waves of human creativity. I also consider possible factors that would account for the rise and fall: the presence of new material, social encouragement and/or patronage, temperamental egotism on the part of creators, the attraction of pioneering talent, or a collective or superindividual spirit.
The teaching of art and design has many benefits, one main benefit is that it promotes children’s creativity. In today’s society we live in a world run by technological modernisations, creativity is a critical component; human skills and people’s influences of creativity and imagination are substantial resources, in a knowledge-driven-economy (Robinson,2001,2009). It is essential to understand, just exactly what creativity actually is. Creativity is described as a ‘state of mind in which all our intelligences are working together’ involving ‘seeing, thinking and innovating’ (Craft,2000:38), also defined as a ‘creative imaginative activity fashioned to promote outcomes, that are both original and of value’, (NACCCE, 1999:29).
After reading the article, I found several points that I did agree with. One problem they talked about was our school systems and how they are cutting out time for kids to be creative while in school. To me it seems our school systems have lost their ways and are more focused on teaching us the core curriculum. We need to have time to allow our kids to express themselves in art class, extracurricular activities, and to just be children. I would agree with them that art needs to be placed in homeroom, so kids can express their ideas every day of the week and not just on days they have art class. We need to limit the amount of technology students can use as well, because I think this is a big factor in why our younger generations have lost how to be creative. We are relying on the internet way too much and should encourage kids to go back to the old way of doing research, by using the library and their
