She stood against the maple tree. She watched the red leaves fall to the frost covered ground. The view was beautiful. It was of a perfect sunset, with pink clouds and an orange sky. It was the peak of autumn, the ground lined with leaves of all different colors. The view was breathtaking. But she, the girl who stood against the maple tree, was stunning. She was the girl that stopped you in your tracks. She was the girl that made you want to stop and sing just by looking at her. She was stunning. And if you look close enough, you can see your future in her deep brown eyes, and the rhythm in everything she does, and every move she makes. It was the way she danced, or the way she looked at the world with the same hope and innocence of a child.
The novel “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” by Betty Smith is a both significant and interesting novel for its fascinating story of Francie Nolan’s physical and emotional growth. To begin, young Francie lets the reader understand that even through poverty, it is important to enjoy the little things in life, to value life itself even when it is evidently polluted by greed. Secondly, as Francie grows up, her fall from innocence during her conflicts in life causes her not to be jaded with the world but to become stronger. Growing up is filled with both joy and acrimony, and Francie Nolan’s life is a great example of how a young woman should grow up to be.
Now I wished that I could pen a letter to my school to be read at the opening assembly that would tell them how wrong we had all been. You should see Zachary Taylor, I’d say.” Lily is realizing now that beauty comes in all colors. She is also again being exposed to the fact that her way of being raised was wrong, that years and years of history was false. “The whole time we worked, I marveled at how mixed up people got when it came to love.
For this graphic novel paper, I read Into the Woods by Emily Carroll. This novel is composed of five short stories and an introduction and conclusion. Each short story is independent but the introduction and conclusion are in the same chronological universe. Unlike American Elf 2 and One Hundred Demons, each story has no connection to the previous or the one after it. In this aspect, Into the Woods is like a Grimm’s Fairytale book rather than a novel.
In the days leading up to her graduation, she was so excited about receiving her diploma for her academic accomplishments, even though she hasn’t accomplished a lot in life by experiencing a little bit of it. She felt like the birthday girl with her pretty dress, beautiful hair, and the presents she received from Uncle Willie and her mother. She felt like it w...
Once upon a time, not too long ago, four seniors in high school decided to go on a camping trip in the woods. They used their friend Gabriella’s parents’ cabin deep in the woods of Lassellsville. Now here’s a little background on Lassellsville, no one ever really went there, the only people that lived there were old people that were on their way out and druggies. It was very run down, and creepy. Ninety-five percent of the town was woods, and it was quite a large town too so if you got deep enough in the woods it could take you days to find your way to the next town over or the civilized part of it. So these four teenagers, Gabriella, Jake, John, and Katherine gathered all the alcohol they could find and shipped off. Now there was no cell phone
The short story “Song of the Trees” by Mildred Taylor is about the time of the Great Depression and how black folks were struggling at that time. The main character of the book is named Cassie. Cassie is a small and curious nine-year old girl. She was born in Mississippi and belongs to an African-American family. She likes to go in the woods and listen to the sound of the trees. The other characters are Christopher - John , Little man, Stacey, Big Ma, Mama, and Papa. This was the time of the Great Depression when the longest economic drop happened. People were short on food, water, and especially money. All people had was each other. The most valuable things in life are love, family, and self respect. That’s what Cassie learned and so did the

In the chapter “Waiting between the trees.” from the Joy Luck Club, we encounter Ying-Ying’s 1st marriage, and how it affected her and others around her. Throughout the text it has this theme of marriage and relationships, and with ying ying she ended up killing her first child out of fury and depression due to the fact that her husband was cheating on her with an opera singer. My perspective on this chapter, the situation and story that Ying Ying describes is that it was all a “Lie”.
A sacred moment in the stillness before sunrise, where the mountains are young. It is 5:07 in the morning. This is the moment I rejoice with my other half. After hundreds of lifetimes spent together as one being, once again we have found each other. Our love that was once a spark in the abyss has since ignited the entirety of the world aflame. He and I are painted indigo and olive. We are dancing in the night sky. It is 12 noon and the mattress we sleep on is deteriorating but the seeds planted in our chest are just beginning to sprout. I am watching as his chest rises and falls effortlessly. The sun is beginning to climb up the sky, the rays cascading through the vines ...
I finally arrive at the cabin, in amazement; something this beautiful sits so far back in the woods. After admiring the cabins for several minutes, I walk up to the door and gave it a light knock. The door opens and to my surprise, a beautiful brown hair, blue eyed girl was there to greet me. Her hair glistens in the sun, like fresh silk. Staring into her magnificent blues eyes, reminded me of the ocean. Smiling as she told me to come in, I entered the cabin.
The wood was enormous. It was dark and it was cold and I needed to get
"Trees" is a poem by Joyce Kilmer. After reading and analyzing the brief twelve lines of this poem we believe that it is a religious poem. Kilmer gives praising attributes to the tree as if it were praising God. This poem also explains that trees are lovelier than a poem because any fool can write a poem, but only God can create a tree.
Sitting here all alone where I was placed for good, watching all the different types of cars enter the parking lot, wondering if they have noticed me on the dirt surrounded by all the colorful and different types of wildlife. Scattered patches of green grass mixed with some unhealthy brown ones are pushing its way out from the ground. I have only one friend, but no family that I know of, I can't talk to my friend, but the reason why I call him a friend is because he is in the same situation as I am despite the fact he has a total different shape and design than me, having the letter P on top while the two Cs? underneath connecting each other and is standing on one tall skinny leg they have given him. Not much excitement ever happens around here except I am always afraid one day a tree which surrounds the area where I live fall on me due to strong wind. At some point of the day, a bird lands on me as it chirps to his friends- calling them to play. After the little get-together they have, the birds? kindly leave a little white spot on my brown polished smooth coating. However, I do not mind their little droppings they leave on me only to give me extra color on my boring brown, chipped up skin. It is almost the fall season and already I am covered in dead, dried up, and crackling leaves, hence, reminding me of the good old days. At random on a cheerful sunny day, a creature who presented himself as a human being approached me. Had his right hand to his ear talking into a black brick, for some reason why- he probably had no one to talk to- he then was holding it, pointing the strange looking black brick straight at me saying ?you?re going to be my homework for today? then added ?COMMUNITY COLLEGE? as he put back the black brick into his ear and started again with the talking, leaving large foot steps as he walked away. Yet, those words, ?COMMUNITY COLLEGE? kept echoing in my ears with his voice, realizing what was carved with a lighter and brighter brown color into my body after being chopped down and cut into a rectangular shape with smooth edges and two stiff legs.
The grass was soft and green, reserved for those who wanted to lie down or sit. A sweet aroma of flowers overflowed near by like s shinning light, but was hidden by the untrimmed bushes and wildly growing trees. Up above me was the beautiful, high noon blue sky spotted with fluffy, white clouds and airplanes flying by. I emerged into the parking lot and stopped happily as a squirrel under a tree. Hesitating to proceed anywhere further I took a few minutes to treasure the moment of silence and peace. As my girlfriend and I got out of the car to get ready for the picnic, she happened to be distracted by the water; a rhythmic ongoing resemblance of rhythm in her heart. The water was clam and beautiful in every aspect. To me she was like a wave, never stooping to catch attention or go unnoticed. Before doing anything else, we began setting up the picnic. By the time we ware done, her temptation was unbearable and was finally unable to overcome it, consequently she eagerly ran towards the water pulling me right behind her. Each step was like an imprint in my heart, a fossil that would always remain the same and special inside me forever.
Kara walked into the classroom five seconds before the bell rang and all the guys looked in awe. She was the kind of girl that everyone wants but nobody can have. I was among these spectators sitting next to an empty desk. She came and took the weight off her feet in chair to the left of me. I had never talked to her until one day she brought conversation upon me. She asked me how my day was going and I gave a typical response of “Good.” She introduced herself and asked for my name. I discovered right then from the position of the sun in the sky creating a perfect reflection of shine in her eyes that this girl was the perfect human being. The way she talked with a sense of warmth made me feel comforted and secure.
