I just smile and she finished my order. I get outside and it's raining harder. I hurry to my car (while trying not to slip) and just my luck, the trunk won't open. No matter how many times or how hard I press the button on the little remote, it won't open. I sigh and try the key, the key hole is frozen. I can't open the door to my car. I try chipping at it with the key but it's no use. I don't wanna break the key either. "Great!" I exclaim in frustration. I hurry back into the store and walk over to the same cashier who rang up my order. "Excuse me," I say. She turns and looks at me. "I was just here, you just rang up my order. My car door won't open cause the lock is frozen. Where can I leave my basket while I go and look for …show more content…
That's the manager. He'll know what to do." She answers, pointing at the man in the baby barf green shirt. "Thank you." I reply. "Wait, maybe I can be of assistance." I hear a familiar voice call after me. I turn around and there standing before me is Mr. Lockehart, Dr. Lockehart, whatever I'm supposed to call him. He smiles widely and his eyes light up. "Ms. Meyers!" He says cheerfully. "Hi again." I reply. "I was getting ready to leave when I overheard your conversation." He explains. "Oh okay." I reply awkwardly. "What seems to be the issue at hand?" He asks. "I can't get my car open because the locks are frozen." I answer. "Hmm," He replies and puts his hand on his chin and rests his arm on his other arm. "I tried breaking the ice with the key but it was no use." I add. "Do you happen to have a-" He starts but stops abruptly and chuckles to himself. "No, of course not. Why would you?" He asks himself and looks at …show more content…
He starts the engine and we leave the parking lot. "Your foot all back to 100%?" He asks. "Yep. All healed up good." I answer, quoting him. He chuckles softly. "Make a right up here." I say. We get to my apartment complex and I get down. I texted Megan to meet me in the parking lot to help me carry the groceries up the stairs. When I step out of the truck, I see her descending the stairs. It's not raining in this area. It's just cold and the air is nippy. "It's so nice to meet you!" She says and walks right over to Jasper. "Uhh.." He replies. She wraps her arms around him in an awkward hug. He looks over at me with a confused expression. "Megan!" I call her name. "Aly's told me all about you. She's crazy about you." She adds as she lets go of him. "Is that so..?" He asks, obviously uncomfortable. "Megan! Grab some bags and get back upstairs." I demand, trying to keep my cool. She just smirks at me and does so. "I'm sorry about that." I say. "She seems nice." He replies with a sarcastic tone. "She's my sister. A little annoying, but you've gotta love family, cause it's illegal to kill 'em. Right?" I
" I wish I could have helped more but hey did you hear about Lord Williamson " she says in a hushed tone. I stop and I turn around quickly.
“Thank you, sir. I just don’t understand what’s happening, this seems so surreal...Mr. Morris, Where is Lizzie?”
"Don't worry dude, she just likes to look after her students, she's really kind in that weird family relative way"
After hesitating, Fannie smiles. “Thank you, Abe. I believe you have the gift of healing.”
“Why are you here?” Violet asks. Then I see her eyes land on my outfit. Her amber eyes widened. “Oh. That makes sense. Did you really get confused for me?”
Now let’s go." He says to me smiling brightly. I pull out of our small driveway, and out onto the main road. I change gears and sped up to match the pace of the other cars. “Nice job, you’re getting a hang of this!”
I started looking around and then I saw something out of the corner of my eye, a simple, brown trailer. I yelled “Guys there’s a trailer over there. It might have some stuff in it to help us.” They got up and we started running in the direction of the trailer. When we got there we realized it was locked.
"And I don't deserve her sometimes, but I'm glad she'll have me." "I guess I shouldn't just assume that you understand things when I don't talk about them." She says softly. "I'm sorry," I say again.
“You have been living with that pain in your limp crippled leg for so long, I thought it was time to get it fixed!” He beamed.
We went to go get into my car and it was missing “oh no!” we thought to ourselves what will we do?
"It was nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs....." I trail off to make it seem like I didn't already know their names.
He sighs, frustrated. “Do I look angry?” he asks again. Looking down, I shake my head. “N-no...”
Exhaling, she is able to mutter, “... You know my friend Erin?” Reluctantly, I nod. Oh no. What happened?!
“Riley, Aden.” Mrs. Warren greets both of us with a hug as she comes out to see us.
I say dryly. Hannah looks stunned at me. Another thought pops into my head. Hannah is a seemingly proper lady, maybe she can help me in the ways of becoming one. Maybe I should be nicer to her, that could be a start.
