I ran back up to the bridge and the crew followed, I got onto the radio and sent out an S.O.S. signal plus tried to call for help but the coms where down and the antenna was frozen...Everything was frozen. Our location was 5 miles from the Diomede island, I sent Serga and Jack to get the harpoons on deck because when the deck freezes we use them to chip the ice off so the men are able to work without ice falling on them. The crew and I met on deck, we discussed a plan to go and find help. I said that Jack, Serga and Colson will go and try to reach Biomede island and get help. They will take the harpoons, tents and some blankets. They took the harpoons for protection incase they run into unwanted guests. The rest of us will try to fix the radio
That was something, I just feel off the boat. Lightly, I drift along water. I see a few of my brothers and sisters, but I am very far away from them.
on, the mission is soon interrupted by seas full of impassable ice. Trapped, Walton encounters
The Creature That Opened My Eyes Sympathy, anger, hate, and empathy, these are just a few of the emotions that came over me while getting to know and trying to understand the creature created by victor frankenstein in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. For the first time I became completely enthralled in a novel and learned to appreciate literature not only for the great stories they tell but also for the affect it could have on someones life as cliché as that might sound, if that weren’t enough it also gave me a greater appreciation and understanding of the idiom “never judge a book by its cover.” As a pimply faced, insecure, loner, and at most times self absorbed sophomore in high school I was never one to put anytime or focus when it came time
BBC News claims, “The San Francisco Bay Area has one of the strongest tidal currents going under the Golden Gate Bridge.” This indicates that it was very unlikely the men could survive the one-mile journey to shore. According to the article, “Did Anyone Escape,” the men left from the west side of the island. The men chose to escape right after high tide where undertow was worst. Also, Morris and the Anglins were in average condition, swimming at the wrong time making it highly improbable they could make the swim as professionals in peak condition could. In the same article it states, “As you go, the water tends to pull your feet down.” This evidence proves that it was highly unlikely they could survive after their raft failed. Although the tide made it hard for them to survive the journey, many items have been found in the
All I can do is wait for my inevitable death. If it wasn't for that imbecile, Jack, I wouldn't be in this situation. In fact, we would probably be rescued by now. I try to increase the chances of rescue by telling jack and his choir to keep the signal fire burning. What does the asshole do? He goes on a rampage screaming kill,kill, kill . I realize that we needed food, but those morons forgot about what was important;
Their little argument reminded me of my brother being somewhere in front of my boat so I looked around trying to find him, but I only saw white water and a blue boat without a person inside steering it off to its next adventure. After a few seconds of trying to get a better look at who was in the boat I gave up and decided to enjoy the bright green trees surrounding me in the raging sloshing river. All around me was peace and nothing was better than that feeling of having no worries other than relaxing on a soft inflatable boat that was rocking to the waves around me. A flock of small birds were flying overhead and chirping to each other and distracted me from what was upcoming in the river. As I was looking up at the beautiful area around me, I got pulled back to reality when I went over the first drop and almost fell into the cold water. Thinking that I was about to die I grabbed the boat with all my strength trying to stay in it without touching the water below me. After I was over the shock, I was shaking and making sure that I was still in one piece, confirming that I was in one piece I began to paddle forward attempting to catch up back to the group. I was paddling as quickly as I could with all my might trying not to get left behind and have to wander around trying to find the guides. Somehow me trying to push myself forward only ended up
Danny fell right through the ice and he started to panic. He started yelling for help but the Captain just stood still and stared at Danny. Danny remembered what the captain had told him about not panicking and staying calm. Captain Bartlett started to laugh when Danny found out that the water was only 5 inches deep. He gave Danny a hand and helped him out of the freezing water. As they reached the camp site Danny changed into warmer clothes and hurried inside and had a warm drink. Over the next few days at the camp site it was very calm and relaxed as everyone was still settling in and getting used to their new homes. As the day progressed the Captain called Danny into his hut. Danny was nervous and worried about why he had been called to meet with the Captain. He did not do anything wrong and he obeyed the messages he was told. As he entered the Captain’s hut he was asked to have a seat and was offered a hot drink. The main reason that the Captain invited Danny in for a meeting was to ask him a very important question. He asked Danny that for the time that they were going to be staying at ...

I lived on an island named the Spirit Island. The sky used to be always azure without any blemish. There were lots of greenery; there were mountains, rivers, cliffs, and lakes. And there was always present the fresh breeze of the sea. Our island was pretty big with a population of almost 800 million with thousands of cities.
For my first piece of original writing I intend to create a piece primarily written for entertainment however, I also want to portray an interest into historical and political persuasions. Day 15: No one has come to rescue me, nor has anyone has even acknowledged my SOS signal. I think I'm going crazy… I keep hearing things like someone was walking along the spaceship. Except whatever I'm hearing its something big, making loud stomping noises at night. I think I'm not alone.
After we ventured on for about a good 10 minutes we checked to make sure we were all still okay and still with the group. After we established that we were all in fact there we decided that we would begin to head back the direction that we thought we had come
One of the most unique creatures are fish. As I am sitting here in my room, my fish are swimming about with not a care in the world. I wonder what it would feel like to be a fish.
The chief officer was facilitating the crew members that were to muster on a deck and the second engineer had mustered in the engine control room. A possibility of abandoning ship by bringing their immersion suits; assuring him that all members were safe and sound. He even had the foresight to not to seek shelter because turning the ship around alone would bring some variations when there are rapid waves present. Only when weather conditions slightly improved did the master decide to repeal the mustering. He even gave the effort to remain on the bridge for the rest of the day and only took rest on the 16th. As far as I am concerned this alone shows he did that entire he could do with the given situation. There is also the mistake that the predicted forecast provided to him was not completely accurate, that may not have been the intention of those that provided this information as weather forecasts do not give a complete guarantee as to what may come to occur when on voyage. There is also an issue regarding the state of what was used to contain the
